I have one of those new laptops that HP traded for a Compaq Presario through litigation about the HP getting to hot. Well it is as slow as molasses in January. I installed 8 gigs of ram but it is still slow. It has the single core cpu. Great trade "yeah" any who I am trying this ram drive and as you said I can't see any difference. I have shut down all of the special features about the aero glass and run just a basic set up on the video. I wish I could put another cpu in it.
