Nobody is taking Russian skaters seriously. They won by cheating, bribing the judges, conspiring with judges from their former colonies. Alena was so sloppy.

Alena was good enough and she desereves her title! Maybe you just hate Russians? Why? Everyone knows that the best coaches are Russians! And Russian skaters are strong or maybe Plushenko, Slutskaya, Yagudin won by cheating?! Are you crazy?

I have no prob with alena but her PCS mark was inflated. she's an energetic skater but she is not the least bit graceful and her program was poor choreographed and sloppily executed; yet she managed to get over 50 points in that mark. congrats to her for the win but the judges held her up over Caroline. the judges held her PCS mark down. she got 47pts when in the last 3 competitions on the senior level she's received 49-53pts in that mark. Add those extra 2 points and she would have won...

Alena skated quite well in both the short program and the long when Zhang was good only in LP. It's just a very low SP placement affect every other skater's LP PCS scores. Ashley's PCS was higher than Caroline's too. The same was with Alena at Euros 'cause she was only 11th after short, but then had very good performance in her LP and her technical scores was the best, but PCS was not high and finally she was only 4th

that's what i mean. alena's programs were a bit sloppy that's all. she did better than caroline in the SP because she landed her jumps BUT caroline had the far more superior LP both technically and artistically but she was scored much lower than she's usually scored in the PCS mark. alena's inflated PCS mark gave her the boost she needed to stay above caroline. i doesn't take a genius to see that her 50+ in that mark was a gift and that her sloppy performance was not worth that...

And it doe snot take a genious that herm712 is American. :P Alena was better than Caroline in both elements & components. She has superior jumps, skating skills, etc etc...

yes, i'm American and proud of it, but that's not why i said that. Alena is a sloppy skater...period. under this new system you can turn in the crap she turned in and win. i've been watching skating a long time and back when skating was still considered an art, Alena's sloppy presentation and lack of structure would not have scored so high. she does have decent speed and skating skills but i still think caroline's program was better overall.

I agree that Caroline was better in FS. And she won the FS, didn't she? But her SP was bad and that's why she didn't win, not because of judges. Yes, Alena needs a lot of work of her spirals, spins, etc. But Caroline isn't perfect too. She is too slow and her jumping technique is really bad

My observations based on the above video:

1, Caroline and Ashley were initially asked by Alena to step onto the #1 podium at 6:54. Ashley did not volunteer herself to step onto the #1 podium.

2, Ashley may have 'benign fasciculation syndrome'(BFS) and was obviously embarassed by it(see 7:09).

3,Lots of empty seats!

4,Both Caroline and Ashley got a real quick head start on the lap of honor event! LOL(at 8:16).

Ashley is probably just showing poor sportsmanship. She was in 2nd after the short program, Caroline in 10th, and Caroline still managed to beat her.

Uglefanatikeren , Won by cheating and bribing the judges? That is preposterous! Frankly, I am fond of Caroline, Ashley, Mirai and Alissa, But Alena.... oh come on. Alena could have done better than that! I feel that the other skaters have been unfairly denied their chance to shine! Its like seeing a totally unknown skater waltzing her way into first place!
