I must confess that I am not an avid fan of this tenor, but whenever I listen to this particular recording I am brought to tears by the expressiveness and beauty of the singing. This is surely one of the most touching versions of this aria.

Oui assurément, Roberto Alagna est sans doute le plus grand ténor français, et actuellement l'un des plus grands du monde.Il défend comme nul autre le répertoire français à l'étranger. Ceci dit; il faut aussi avoir entendu cet air chanté par César Vezzani.Dans les années 30 les les voix n'étaient pas mises en valeur, et pourtant quelle splendeur.

Absolutely beautiful! This is the kind of music in which I think Alagna particularly excels: the long legato passages simply melt together, and the high pianisimi are simply ravishing. I am so delighted after all these years to have another great French tenor on the scene. Georges Thill was a wonderful tenor, and I along with many adored him, but they have been few and far between since his day. Until Alagna. It is so nice to hear great French music done again by a brilliant French tenor!

Je ne suis plus un fan d'ALAGNA mais là je le retrouve à ses débuts ou il soignait sa voix et la justesse.Magnifique demi-teinte sur le la.C'est parfait !!!

Je ne suis pas un très grand fan d'Alagna, mais dans le répertoire romantique français je trouve qu'il excelle. Les phrasés sont souples tout en restant scrupuleux par rapport à la partition. Très expressif et très intelligent.

Merci pour cette vidéo. J'ai écouté de multiples versions de cette très charmante mémodie, et je désespérais de ne pas trouver de version vraiment satisfaisante. C'est fait, c'est incontestablement celle que je préfère, et de loin. Tout d'abord la diction parfaite, le soufle qui semble sans fin, et la beauté du timbre m'ont véritablement conquis. Bravo Alagna !
