@braineater316 I'm not saying stuff like that is justifiable, like that Marine who pissed on those bodies, but it's war. War is hell. What about those people that after they blew up a passing American civilian contractor truck and then pulled that charred/burning bodies out and hung them over a bridge as a "message." I really don't haven anything else to say, because that was my main point. War is hell, and nothing is justifiable.
@NyanCatMatt Especially unjust and illegal wars! Over 1 million dead in Iraq ( mostly civilians ) and for what? Safe to say you can't travel to Iraq and expect anything other than complete contempt from the people and can you really blame them?
@braineater316 So it's not a matter of rising up against the government tyranny in that instance, it's the matter of defending my own life against those who want to kill me. Now.. turn that around. American military in other countries, fighting a large group of individuals, where their sole purpose, originally (of course), was to annihilate the American race and our freedoms. We then, turn around and KILL those people. Yes, collateral damage happens, but in the end, it is a necessarily loss.
@NyanCatMatt I understand where you are coming from when it comes to defending the people of this country. BUT when it comes to the wars.... The vast majority of people killed in the middle east are civilians just trying to defend their land the same way any other countries people would against an invading force. Its ALL collateral damage. The usa are the real terrorists. Terrorism-the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce for political purposes. That defines our government to a tee.
@NyanCatMatt Wanna hear a real terrorism story? Google the leaked classified report of about a dozen women and children being bound and then shot in the head execution style by marines. It was investigated and confirmed by the UN but of course you won't catch that story on the MSN or any other real news for that matter.
@braineater316 And if the bombs were being dropped outside OUR (shared responsibility), then I will grab my guns and ammo, and wait it out. Invaders can be prepared for a defense strategy by our government (no matter what it is), but there is a massive majority of people like myself who believe that we, as Americans, hold the right to own and operate weapons, ESPECIALLY to defend our lives and the lives of other Americans, even yourself. If it came down to it, of course.
@braineater316 People like me gave up a long time ago on trying to do anything. I'm not saying that I'm just going to let the government ram their corrupt ideals and policies up my ass all day, definitely not. As I said, I'm completely happy with MY life. I gave up on trying to defend America as a unit-whole, because us Americans are still just.. human, and human-beings cannot be defended because we are all wrong. I don't want to get into it unless needed, but we will die eventually anyway.
As a Canadian I am fascinated by the American right wings contention that the restoration of some common sense regulations somehow amounts to Communism. This kind of hysteria has become quite common place ever since Mr.Limbaugh and his imitators started acting entirely at the behest of their Corporatist masters. They have succeeded in moving the Conservative "middle" so far to the right that Richard Nixon (in all seriousness) would be seen as a moderate in this political climate.Where will it end?
@braineater316 Oh yeah, and a nineteen-year-old, community college student, paying his own way by working at Wal-Mart and living with my girlfriend, University student, on her campus because it is cheap and convenient for us both. We have no debts, not for school or credit cards, because we don't have credit cards. We pay our bills on time, our taxes, and still have a bit of money left over after a few months to go out to a movie or dinner. All this at nineteen, and I couldn't be happier.
@NyanCatMatt So you are basically saying you don't care. No "conspiracy" is needed to point out that government is as corrupt as ever. 'But you don't care? You don't care that all our shit says made in china on it by the hands of some 12 year old slave. Well thats ok I guess but you sure as hell can't call yourself an American. People like you have our forefathers rolling in their grave. " It is the first responsibility of every citizen to QUESTION AUTHORITY ". Ignorance is bliss eh.
@NyanCatMatt What exactly is a person of reason to you? Apparently your reasoning is that you don't give a shit about what people are doing in this country unless it effects you and your gf directly, nice reasoning skills. Forget all the illegal wars and millions dead. If the bombs were going off right outside your girlfriends home I think you might be urged to speak out against the war then wouldn't you. Ignorance is bliss.
@braineater316 It would take many posts to try to reason with any conspiracy theorist. There is never any reasoning with any extremist. But that's okay, I came to do what I came to do, and that is to only speak my mind. But did you see what I did there? I just said what I wanted, and nothing more. When the extremists want to "say what they want," they do everything they can to try to change the system, or bring down whatever it is they are against that week. But what do I know? I'm only American
@braineater316 Self-righteous? I'm putting everyone in the same bowl here. @NyanCatMatt Wtf? What a mindless bunch of self righteous ignorance! 'And you tell others to get over THEMselves? Educate yourself!
"I respect the Constitution" What constitution!? If you hadn't realized we have the Patriot Act and NDAA which takes a giant shit on the constitution. Its just a piece of paper now buddy! But apparently that doesn't bother you "I love the people of the United States of America, no matter how much wrong they are committing." Apathetic moron!
Because you have different philosophies about what should be done? Or maybe it's because you want to go as far as a revolution. Get over yourself. I may not like what is being done in our government (talking about the corrupt ON BOTH SIDES). Get over yourself. Just because you say you are doing this for everyone, in the end, it's still just a stunt to make yourself feel good.
So if everyone hates everything that the United States of America does, then why not leave? It's cheap. Take a plane to Australia or drive north or south to Canada or Mexico. Just leave. it's the smug asshole-ness of this type of shit that makes people desensitized to billions of starving people in the world. you throw it out there in half a second as a cheap political jab at some fucking republican, whom I'm sure has a lot more fucking flaws you could point out than just the fact that he "believes in capitalism".
There's a difference between capitalism (free market economy) and a managed market (corporatism). For corporatism you need BIG government to enact the laws that BIG corporations write. You also need fiat (paper) currency for the global banking cartel to print more money and enslave the people with debt. And you need the military industrial complex to waste that money so they can print and lend more...
But Fleetwood still thinks in Left-Right terms, poor soul, which is why he ignores Ron Paul.
The problems with both Capitalism and Socialism is that they both allow corruption. They both assume without debate that Brainwork should have a higher value than Musclework, those who make the decisions will covet that role and become corrupt to keep it, and those outside will sell their souls to get in. Only solution is to Smoke More Dope!!!
Capitalism is the only empirically proven method of government that actually works you socialist hand out havin, big brother moochin, entitlement recipient, ghettofied pieces of trash!
@bl4k2 Europe's troubles can be traced to trying to maintain political autonomy while giving up economic autonomy. The Euro is a mistake if there is no European federation.
@bl4k2 Yeah, we're doing just fine over here, thanks! Oh, you're referring to Greece? A country that got into embezzling on a nation-wide scale? Yeah, great example there. I live in Sweden, probably the most true socialist state in the world and we have actually gotten it worse in the last few years after our most capitalist party won the parliamentary election and started privatizing everything, pretty much proving that pure socialism is the way to go.
@thedakkster How can you compare Sweden roughly the size of California to the entire United States thinking that just bumping up the scale will work? Continue to give away your pay check to the government while I capitalize here in the states and become even more rich WHOOO! If you think some bureaucrat can spend your money better than yourself then maybe you should just stay in Sweden where you belong. And I was talking about portugal, ireland, italy, cyprus, spain, and others as well.
@bl4k2 And you have a huge part of your population dying because of a vampiric health insurance system which leads to no coverage. Meanwhile we have everyone covered because a socialist society is an empathic society where we take care of each other. You can go ahead and be rich in your country while the vast majority of your countrymen are crippled by the corporate elite. How does it feel to be the king among the slaves working three jobs and still not making ends meet?
@thedakkster You must not be familiar with the health care system here. This is not Africa. If you have a low income or no job at all then you can get on government assistance (medicaid etc.) and millions do for FREE. As a pharmacist by trade I can tell you these people pay $0-$2.10 for their medication while others pay much more.(and they still complain) Part of the reason America is in so much debt is because of all these damn entitlements. If you cant contribute to society then get out.
@bl4k2 How is it that every other western nation has single payer health care that costs LESS that what the US pays per capita while posting better results? A new Harvard study shows that over 40000 Americans will die in 2012 because they don't have any coverage. Forty thousand. And you think that's acceptable? Keep putting your head in the sand. Your system is broken and it's not because of entitlements. It's because healthcare is a for-profit system in the US.
@thedakkster I never said the American system was perfect especially right now. If your in a bad situation, America is full of opportunity. Get your ass of the couch and work hard to achieve something. At least I have the opportunity to still capitalize here, so have fun in your socialist society while I work on buying my third home on the west coast. As for the 40k deaths you speak of, IM GLAD! Make room for some people who actually want to contribute to society.
Not all over the place, D, but they seem to hold most of the power. Bastards. That aside, America is a great place to live especially if you've got money.
@bl4k2 "America is full of opportunity" hence why 1 in 6 American is underemployed or unemployed.
Plus, technically, Sweden is not a "socialist state" : Socialist don't sell Ikea furniture (that's a private firm) and don't engage cheap labors in...Virginia?!?!
Sweden do have a strong welfare net, which is one of the reasons why their growth is more stable than the one in USA.
I believe in capitalism, just with so many restrictions that we look like Sweden more than we do now. Certain things, like healthcare, defense, infrastructure, police, firefighters, education, etc. should have absolutely no profit margin attached to it.
Areas with profit motives attached should be regulated to make sure workers and costumers are not exploited. Safe products, safe working conditions, living wages, etc.
I would be called a communist by a lot of the GOP.
The Black Pope uses the eye of Satan on the dollar bill and is incahoots with jesuits, freemasons, illuminati, and 13 evil powerful families who are following Albert Pikes blue print for wars. The were all incahoots in WW1, WW2, and soon WW3. God is fighting for his souls and the Devil is fighting for his.
@dudev Judging from your reply you already know well what I'm about to say but w/e. The ideal societies CAN'T work with the current state of man's mentality. Until people gain some awareness nothing will change. Can't make too much progress when you still have morons that are convinced our planet is only 3000 years old and deny the existence of multiple galaxies ect ect. Knowledge is key...and we ain't got none ha ha. And perfection does not exist.
The ideal society or the ideal people ---Neither will ever exist. The human race is the same as it was 2000 year ago. All these political issues were being fought over by the ancient Romans, as their republic was changing. The pursuit of idealism is evil. Perfection can never be attained and the longest lasting societies are the ones that realized that. A society is not a set thing; it must adapt or die.
@dudev I agree with you. Ours has not been allowed to adapt/evolve and perhaps the biggest reason why its "dying" at the moment. Free energies could change our way of life forever but such things kept from the people in order for the rich to maintain control. Things certainly haven't changed much since the days of the roman empire. A few rich men controlling all the rest. Just throw them some bread and games and people couldn't be happier...er these days they might require an xbox.
There is no free energy. You're thinking about conspiracies. But those who are in charge are actually pretty average; some are incredibly stupid. And I see no signs that our society is dying. I've got a cartoon that was published in the late 1800's, it's of a man holding a doomsday sign. Fear-mongering is common to every era.
@dudev There is no free energy!? I guess you don't consider solar and wind energies to be free energies? You don't think we could all be driving solar powered cars right now if it weren't for the big oil companies suppressing the technology? Crude oil powered anything should be obsolete with the technology we have today but its not because there is a profit to be made. Free energies = no profit or only a fraction of. Google Nikola Telsa.
Sure, sunlight and wind are free, but they have to be converted to electricity, and that costs money. So they are not free sources of electricity. And yeah, solar powered cars work, but they need to be super light weight to have any speed comparable to modern cars. What good is that for an average family of four? The oil companies aren't suppressing the technology. The lack of demand by the public is keeping them off the market. Google physics and engineering.
@braineater316 Puttin up solar pannels costs something. You need to draw a line between free and renewable. Not that I also do agree with you(for energy revolution), but those energies are not free just because their source is unlimited.
@dudev No. The roman empire and all its followers and predecessors had their rise with idealism, with the idea being more important than anything else. Those countries automatically became the worlds center for wealth and piece. But when the people started to fear the loss of their wealth, corruption and greed took over. The longest lasting societies always get sick under the illnes, that brought down the roman empire: Decadence (decadere: crumbling, falling apart)
Roman history is more complicated than that. Rome survived as long as it did because it was adaptable. Most of the great societies were founded and existed because of their greed. And societies have always been corrupt. There is no perfect society that will last forever. There is no ideal.
@dudev Well, thinking of how changes in knowledge(and other factors in our society) proportionally grow over time, America existed quite as long as the roman empire (I'd say like a hundret years in relation to a thousand years). But I agree with you, that adaption is the key for a society to survive. The question is: adapt how and is it not already too late?
@braineater316 - Long Live Corporatism and BIG government. Long live Collectivism and fiat money. Long Live the Pyramid, where the top is ultra rich and the rest are all slaves. There's a rEVOLution going on, but here on the Fleetwood ranch they want to rewrite history - the European way.
Never in my life have I encountered such a lost rebel as this Fleetwood. He woke up to the left-right charade, all right, but not enough for his brain to escape the left-right rut.
@braineater316 , are you nuts? Go live in North Korea, comrade! Capitalism will prevail and Mitt Romney will be the next president of the United States:P
"Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate" - Bertrand Russell Where do the lazy and irresponsible work in to the equation?
"Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate" - Bertrand Russell
mitt romney is a punkassbitch and he couldnt even win in his own state and this is a ha bisky upload obama is better then mitt romney but alan grayson is the best
Americans love to talk about how Capitalism and how the competition that it encourages is sooooo excellent....until they find that they can't compete....then they are all about "Protecting American Jobs", and they look to their government to keep people from actually competing with them.
My question is... WHO THE FUCK DO WE VOTE FOR?!?!? Romney is a damn machine, Fig Newton is a sleezy son-of-a-bitch, Santorum is some weird hard right homophobic anal discharge, Perry is a closet homosexual, Bush Xtreme on acid (or some kind of drug), and Paul is a bigoted libertarian who doesn't know who writing on his twitter page or newsletters in his name. I guess go back to Obama, but that man is like Romney... except he is better at lying. So I ask again. WHO. THE. FUCK. DO. WE. VOTE. FOR.
@arofluv we either A vote for obama and hope for the best or B do a write in vote for alan grayson like many others are and hope we dont have a president worse then obama because obama is the best of the republicans right now
I don't doubt that Romney believes all that shit and more, but YOU have a huge fundamental misunderstanding of what "capitalism" is, and WHY there are starving people in 3rd world countries.
@Gimmeabreakman I'll give you a hint. The MOST prevalent reason why those people have such hard times is because they live in countries that are ruled by systems that DO NOT respect individual rights - namely property rights. So they are oppressed on all sides by warlards who steal their wealth, industries that pollute without regard and dictators who enslave them. It has NOTHING to do with the American system of capitalism or the principles of the free market, whatsoever.
Ah, yes, you are right. But since I did not come back here to see why you were answering me (your comment just came to my box) I assumed I must have worded it as a question. I stand corrected. You win, nerd. My point was bemoaning the inhumanity of humans, humans who let their fellow humans die when they could help them.
Let me try my hand at a rhetorical question one more time:
@Gimmeabreakman "You win, nerd"?.. Is that what your father used to say to cheer you up after he shot a load in your eye while teaching you to do what it is you now do better than any other guy on your block?... Entirely rhetorical question, of course.
LOL! I knew you wouldn't be able to resist! No self control at all. And now you're lowered yourself to incestuous gay jokes involving sperm. How noble. Yep, you are a winner.
@Gimmeabreakman "I can think of no reason that would explain why there are people starving in 3rd world countries."
The fact that you admit complete ignorance as to the reasons WHY such conditions exist proves that you've never done much research or given it any thought beyond the anti-capitalist rhetoric of kindergarten socialists like Davey Boy here.
Hey Davis, I just heard a very supportive broadcast for Occupy on CBC radio today. Keep that fire burnin man. Peace from CANADA :) Great vid by the way.
Capitalism subsidized by the taxpayers of the world. It's only the free market until you start to loose money and the you need a taxpayer funded bailout. Come on folks lets all give our money to bank of America.
If it's any consolation, there are plenty of highly respectable; decent people out there (outside of the american liberal minded demographic) that say "Capitalism" with the same snarl, and as a loaded hot word or insult, as there are as many american conservatives that use "Commie" as a loaded insult to anyone slightly less right wing than they are.
Romney has been pushed forward by the banksters as the the next US president. It is time for Romney to step aside, long before he has proved to be just another stooge in the US political theater. There is a striking similarity between GWB, BHO, and Mitt Romney...
@LiberalJerseyman The only thing that has failed is statism_ Statism created corporate personhood, yes it was written into law by gov't_ Statism created the first mortgage backed securities through fannie/freddie that started the steepest decline in home prices ever_ Statism bails out billionaires not capitalism_ The failure is gov't intervention_ Markets by contrast, provide u with the energy/food/products u need_
i cant tell if this is sarcasm or if you genuinely support him ahahahah can anyone give clarity of this video lol
i don't support any candidates at all because everyone does the same thing and are bought so its pointless to vote because it doesn't matter until banks are controlled and jobs are created and the economy is fixed when i see all that I'm gonna start voting again other wise screw it.
The creation of bombs/war has nothing to do with capitalism_ The money used to pay for those bombs was stolen from people, or borrowed from people that have not yet been born more accurately_ Statism, government and politicians create war, business people create the products u and I depend on to sustain life, those that go without around the world lack the civil liberties and economic freedoms necessary to create abundance_
@davisfleetwood - you have long missed the bus, Davis. And there are neither planes nor trains. You will have a long walk, but hey, look on the bright side - you might not be on the FEMA list cause they love a rebel who thinks his apples are made by the government.

UKIPmeps 1 month ago
The problems with both Capitalism and Socialism is that they both allow corruption. They both assume without debate that Brainwork should have a higher value than Musclework, those who make the decisions will covet that role and become corrupt to keep it, and those outside will sell their souls to get in. Only solution is to Smoke More Dope!!!

Capitalism hasn't existed in over 100 years. What you describe in the video is corporatism.
End the private Federal Reserve, central economic planning and end corporate personhood and we gain back a lot of freedom.
Socialism = slavery
Corporatism = fascist socialism = slavery
Capitalism = liberty

@bl4k2 Europe's troubles can be traced to trying to maintain political autonomy while giving up economic autonomy. The Euro is a mistake if there is no European federation.
j0hnwi11iams 1 month ago
@bl4k2 Yeah, we're doing just fine over here, thanks! Oh, you're referring to Greece? A country that got into embezzling on a nation-wide scale? Yeah, great example there. I live in Sweden, probably the most true socialist state in the world and we have actually gotten it worse in the last few years after our most capitalist party won the parliamentary election and started privatizing everything, pretty much proving that pure socialism is the way to go.
thedakkster 1 month ago
@thedakkster How can you compare Sweden roughly the size of California to the entire United States thinking that just bumping up the scale will work? Continue to give away your pay check to the government while I capitalize here in the states and become even more rich WHOOO! If you think some bureaucrat can spend your money better than yourself then maybe you should just stay in Sweden where you belong. And I was talking about portugal, ireland, italy, cyprus, spain, and others as well.
bl4k2 1 month ago
@bl4k2 And you have a huge part of your population dying because of a vampiric health insurance system which leads to no coverage. Meanwhile we have everyone covered because a socialist society is an empathic society where we take care of each other. You can go ahead and be rich in your country while the vast majority of your countrymen are crippled by the corporate elite. How does it feel to be the king among the slaves working three jobs and still not making ends meet?
thedakkster 1 month ago
@thedakkster You must not be familiar with the health care system here. This is not Africa. If you have a low income or no job at all then you can get on government assistance (medicaid etc.) and millions do for FREE. As a pharmacist by trade I can tell you these people pay $0-$2.10 for their medication while others pay much more.(and they still complain) Part of the reason America is in so much debt is because of all these damn entitlements. If you cant contribute to society then get out.
bl4k2 1 month ago
@bl4k2 How is it that every other western nation has single payer health care that costs LESS that what the US pays per capita while posting better results? A new Harvard study shows that over 40000 Americans will die in 2012 because they don't have any coverage. Forty thousand. And you think that's acceptable? Keep putting your head in the sand. Your system is broken and it's not because of entitlements. It's because healthcare is a for-profit system in the US.
thedakkster 1 month ago
@thedakkster I never said the American system was perfect especially right now. If your in a bad situation, America is full of opportunity. Get your ass of the couch and work hard to achieve something. At least I have the opportunity to still capitalize here, so have fun in your socialist society while I work on buying my third home on the west coast. As for the 40k deaths you speak of, IM GLAD! Make room for some people who actually want to contribute to society.

I would be called a communist by a lot of the GOP.

dudev 1 month ago
@dudev Judging from your reply you already know well what I'm about to say but w/e. The ideal societies CAN'T work with the current state of man's mentality. Until people gain some awareness nothing will change. Can't make too much progress when you still have morons that are convinced our planet is only 3000 years old and deny the existence of multiple galaxies ect ect. Knowledge is key...and we ain't got none ha ha. And perfection does not exist.
braineater316 1 month ago
@braineater316
"...with the current state of man's mentality"
The ideal society or the ideal people ---Neither will ever exist. The human race is the same as it was 2000 year ago. All these political issues were being fought over by the ancient Romans, as their republic was changing. The pursuit of idealism is evil. Perfection can never be attained and the longest lasting societies are the ones that realized that. A society is not a set thing; it must adapt or die.
dudev 1 month ago
@dudev I agree with you. Ours has not been allowed to adapt/evolve and perhaps the biggest reason why its "dying" at the moment. Free energies could change our way of life forever but such things kept from the people in order for the rich to maintain control. Things certainly haven't changed much since the days of the roman empire. A few rich men controlling all the rest. Just throw them some bread and games and people couldn't be happier...er these days they might require an xbox.
braineater316 1 month ago
@braineater316
There is no free energy. You're thinking about conspiracies. But those who are in charge are actually pretty average; some are incredibly stupid. And I see no signs that our society is dying. I've got a cartoon that was published in the late 1800's, it's of a man holding a doomsday sign. Fear-mongering is common to every era.
dudev 1 month ago
@dudev There is no free energy!? I guess you don't consider solar and wind energies to be free energies? You don't think we could all be driving solar powered cars right now if it weren't for the big oil companies suppressing the technology? Crude oil powered anything should be obsolete with the technology we have today but its not because there is a profit to be made. Free energies = no profit or only a fraction of. Google Nikola Telsa.
braineater316 1 month ago
@braineater316
Google physics and engineering.
dudev 1 month ago
@braineater316 Puttin up solar pannels costs something. You need to draw a line between free and renewable. Not that I also do agree with you(for energy revolution), but those energies are not free just because their source is unlimited.
minimalphilia 1 month ago
@dudev No. The roman empire and all its followers and predecessors had their rise with idealism, with the idea being more important than anything else. Those countries automatically became the worlds center for wealth and piece. But when the people started to fear the loss of their wealth, corruption and greed took over. The longest lasting societies always get sick under the illnes, that brought down the roman empire: Decadence (decadere: crumbling, falling apart)
minimalphilia 1 month ago
@minimalphilia
Roman history is more complicated than that. Rome survived as long as it did because it was adaptable. Most of the great societies were founded and existed because of their greed. And societies have always been corrupt. There is no perfect society that will last forever. There is no ideal.
dudev 1 month ago
@dudev Well, thinking of how changes in knowledge(and other factors in our society) proportionally grow over time, America existed quite as long as the roman empire (I'd say like a hundret years in relation to a thousand years). But I agree with you, that adaption is the key for a society to survive. The question is: adapt how and is it not already too late?

@Gimmeabreakman I'll give you a hint. The MOST prevalent reason why those people have such hard times is because they live in countries that are ruled by systems that DO NOT respect individual rights - namely property rights. So they are oppressed on all sides by warlards who steal their wealth, industries that pollute without regard and dictators who enslave them. It has NOTHING to do with the American system of capitalism or the principles of the free market, whatsoever.
