  • why do ppl nowdays sooo much fight about origins of not only music but everything...like you all took part in history and all of you experienced unjustice from one or the other...those ppl back then maybe just mixed 'cause they found fun in it...this is wonderfull music, wonderfull dancing...great performance :)

  • "slavs were late incomers to europe." Excuse me, but it's bullshit ;-)

You could say, slavs are late incomers to Karelia (not early than 1,5 thousand years ago), where they were mixed with finnish tribes. That's why typical Karelian songs and dances sound and look like mix of Russian and Finnish culture. And it's not a deal of last 50 years, sure. It's more than thousand years together.

  • What is this? A good example how to distroy karelians and their culture. Karelians are finnish, not russians

  • Have to say that the costumes of the men are definnetly russian, but song is totally Finnish/Karelian

  • Very good. Except that I do not see anything Karelian (exlucing the title of the video). A lot of Slavic influences.

  • Have you ever asked you where did that infñluence to slavs come from...Don´t you forget that the slavs were late incomers to europe. This is very tipical carelian song and dance.

  • I know that this is a Karelian folk dance. BUT it differs from Finnish presentation a lot. It is presented LIKE a Slavic dance.

  • that looks so much fun!

  • вот жгут =)
