how did you do the blonde chunks in your hair? I really want them but I´m scared that if I bleach, it will turn out orange (I have dark brown hair, much like yours) awesome hair by the way!

@YouJustMight72 i used the raw white out bleaching kit in 40 volume (you can get it at hot topic). if you do decide to bleach your hair, that's the bleach you need to use. then when you're bleaching, leave the bleach on for an hour. that will usually give it enough time to take out all of the color that it will be able to take out. when i bleached my hair i had dyed it dark brown twice, so it was almost black, and i was able to get platinum blonde chunks.

@YouJustMight72 i honestly just grab chunks of hair whenever i'm bleaching my hair. (: i'm very chill when it comes to dying my hair, since it's really easy to make your hair look good. i just look at what chunks of hair do what and how my hair moves, then i grab the chunk that i think would look good as blonde and dye it. my hair usually isn't dry or damaged because of the raw white out kit. i also get deep conditioner and such to treat my hair after being so mean to it. (:

@xcheesyxemox i usually don't leave the dye in very long because i'm impatient and i know how long the dye lasts in my hair. but if you really want to get your money's worth leave the dye in for 1-2 hours. it'll last super long then.

@TalaLalaLicious if i were you i would bleach it just because it made the dye last longer, and it'll show up more how you want the color to look. i always bring the bleach up to the roots. it'll be a little uncomfortable on your scalp but it's really not a big deal. i leave the bleach in for an hour or two, but since you have light brown hair, just leave it in for about half an hour.

@supersassy11 not really. i never really have a set idea of what i want with my hair. i just kinda buy stuff and in the moment, put it into my hair. i've never dyed my hair and had it come out looking horrible. that's the beauty of hair dye, it will, most of the time, look good even if it's not what you had in mind. :D

@XOXpuppyluvrXOX yup! conditioner is great for when you want pastel colors. all you have to do is take the dye you're using and mix conditioner into it until you get the color you want. i always mix it so it's a couple of shades darker and it'll have time to fade and last longer.

another great way to get really light colors is to bleach the hair, dye it with whatever color you want, let the color fade then bleach the hair again. it sends the dye deeper to the core of your hair and lasts longer

you can use whatever conditioner you want to lighten your hair. if i were you i would use a heavier conditioner like one for moisture, fizz, or breakage defense because those will condition the best and the deepest.

@xoxopaolayup! mixing conditioner into the dye is totally optional. the conditioner just makes the color lighter, and more pastel, and it won't last as long or stain your hair as much. so that way the color will wash out clean and let you experiment with other colors.
