nice analigys castro but here is wat it is, fighting is like a game of rock , paper, scissors, they all can loose and they can all win, depends wat u choce and wen u choose it. get it? got it? good
This argument never ends, here's what my Sifu always says: There are no unbeatable styles, just unbeatable people. If you want to be technical, the guy that's in better shape, trains more, has better reflexes (from practice), has more heart, and has better fighting concepts, has the higher statistical chance of winning. So, are these guys god at real fighting? depends how much they train and how good they are versus the other guy...that simple. Oh, don't forget that luck plays a role too.
I completely agree. I teach my students the How then the why. Which is to say I teach basics then I teach drills and then concepts and application then after about 1-2yrs depending on the student we move into forms, typically Gung Gee done in seven sections then drill the crap out of each section for months at a time, I could careless about how many forms my students learn as long as they have a good structure and frame work.
That's an interesting way of Looking at it Devil. My Forms are decent but not the best they can always be better I strive for Speed and ferocity in every movement acting as if someone was attacking me, but most of the time I strip the form of all un need movement and get right down to the core essence of my form. Which is to learn to hit and continue to hit. I'm an aggressive 26yr old what can I say I enjoy a good challenge which why I learn BJJ, to make myself more well rounded .
I think they are stronger than they look, but in order to get the power into the multiple strikes they are doing they have to transition quickly adding power from the twisting waist action. Some of the massive swings that they make couldn't be supported if their stances weren't strong. Just my opinion, I might be wrong.
this was grandmaster poon sing's 80th b-day, i was there and performed too... nice to see this up, the guy with yellow letters on his shirt at around 3:20 was a student of Lee Koon Hung, Sifu Kwong Cho Yin and also the 2 man... the 2nd is a student in usa florida at lee koon hung kung fu usa... thanks for sharing
