He was on his way to a special previewing of the movie before the studio released it when he suffered the heart attack that sent him into Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He would never leave the hospital alive again. Marty was quite the showman and entertainer and even after his death on December 8, 1982, the man still has the respect of the music world and is still very much missed by all.
