@rockinpranch10 Yes, quail definetly sit on their own eggs in capticity. Japanese quail generally won't because the instinct has been bred out of them through many generations of domestication. New world quails like Bobwhites and Californias will certainly incubate their own eggs, granted they have a secure environment where they feel safe enough to nest.
birds kept in captivity wont sit on their eggs. You have to use an incubator if you want to hatch the eggs.

do quails hatch their own eggs? and if they do do you take the chicks when they hatch and put them in an incubator
