@MecosHeli I'm swinging an 11x6 Master Airscrew for plenty of bite and about 21000 RPM. It will do well over 130 mph but like I said I have to watch the pull-ups...I have already shredded an elevator from pulling up a little too steeply at half throttle...I was able to get it down with no prob. but it was a bit squirrely on the tuchdown...I have since reinforced my new stab so it can handle some more stress.
It would certainly have enough lifting power to get it in the air in short order. You may lose some sport performance like sustained balistic climing, but I dont think you would want to fly it in the same way with floats on anyway. If you do put floats on yours, be sure to make a vid. :)
I "had" an escapade with a .55ax in it. Be careful, that is a lot of engine for that plane. My stabilizer broke in half coming out of a loop. I lost the plane. I got my engine and electronics back thankfully after 2 days of searching. It was a screamer though while it lasted :)
@kkarasz So far so good. This is now the second season with the .55AX onboard. I do take care not to overstress the airframe. I don't pull up hard at any time. I tend to fly it like an interceptor instead of a hard G turn fighter plane. I could see that pulling up hard at high speed could break up the airframe or pop the wings off. But I gota agree, the Escapade with a .55AX is a power house little flyer and remains my favorite plane at this time.
@cdaleracer669 The Escapade is a real fun plane to fly. A little over powered with the .55, But handy to have on take off or vertical climes. In the Video above it has a 12x7 APC sport prop. Point it up, give it full stick and it will go through the clouds if you let it.
I guess I need to post a video...Escapade...ASP .61 two stroke...have to watch the pull-ups...but it makes one hell of a fast straight line!!!

Wow, you got a .61 on the Escapade.. That must be balistic. What prop you spinning? I have a 12 x 6 on mine.

how do you think this plane would fly with the ARF float kit for .40 size planes with the .55 on it?
