(Sarcasm mode OFF) One of the reasons I love this movie is because they show that the mindless masses that follow said megalomaniacs' orders are just as monstrous as they are (if not more so)

Those men who shot at the X-men under orders have earned Magneto's ire and, frankly, I was cheering him on the whole time. Pity he didn't kill them. Having the history filled in with these characters, it has made me rethink a lot of my opinions of characters like Magneto. You see why he has turned out the way he has, why Magneto and Charles's friendship turns. In a way, it humanises them and i can't rate this movie high enough for that.

Yeah I really wish they'd give characters more depth. Magneto had a lot of that in this movie. It had a lot of touching scenes. Compared to the last X-Men movies, this one was a success.

(Spoiler) Although this movie made some akward canon altering choices. the direction of this movie was boss. It did'nt feel cheesy at all but I feel this movie needed two sequels because I felt Erik came to the mantel as Magneto a bit too soon. I could be wrong. I hope they continue this timeline in the 60's or maybe 70's. I want to see Cyclops now.

I almost cried when Dr. Moira MacTaggert's deflected bullet hit Charles in the spine making him loose his abitty to move his legs and walk.

I can relate to Charles because I was born with Cerebral Palsy with Spastic Quadriplegia that sadly affected my movements, muscle tones and my posture so I use a walker to walk because I can not walk like everyone else and I also use a power wheelchair to get where I need to be.

Marvel made no contributions to First Class either, because FOX owns the film rights to X-Men. The decision to break the canon made with X3 and Wolverine wasn't a Marvel decision, it was a decision made by the director and his writers.

Marvel had nothing to do with The Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men: First Class.

@WesternBache The Amazing Spider-Man is planned as a reboot. There's not much that carries on from Raimi's original live-action film to the new one with Andrew Garfield. Unless you mean that there are plans for Marvel Studios to get the rights back from Sony, which is unlikely. The Marc Webb reboot already has a release date for the sequel. :P

And yes, XMFC is still amazing. I hope Matthew Vaughn gets to do another one.

@Iriacinte Everything(storyline wise) in x-men first class moved really fast. The storyline also didn't really follow the correct story.(so I've been told) Tho I dunno anything about the x-men wolverine movie. So you'll have to do research to find out when exactly Charles became paralyzed.
