@garettd You have to complete the 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and 150cc mirror mode in all first place trophie wins to unlock the option to use any character on all types of karts, I used to play this game in 2006 and 2007 and I was a master on wifi. If you haven't completed mario kart ds you will not understand.

@sonicadx No man for handheld consoles the data is on the cartiage and on the earlier nintendo systems too. For the newer consoles like ps2, xbox 360, wii, etc. The data is on the console. Just because you dropped a blue DS doesn't mean you're data wasn't erased on the mario kart ds cartiage unless you manually erased data on your settings.

@mqgTWO96 Why you think i would manually erase my settings after I beat the game ? Im serious I dropped it and then all the data was deleted when I turned my Ds back on after it froze. My guess is it was saving the data and then it froze can't be sure.

Here's why I'm not a huge fan of Mario Kart Super Circuit:

There's no one to play with! I guess I could try and hunt down some people with GBA's and MKSC, but I doubt anyone I know still has this.

With Mario Kart DS, finding someone else to play with is as simple as turning on WiFi.

@wonphi Doesnt mean sprites still cant beat the sh** out of fuc*** up 3d models... This game is good but there all equal I mean yoshi is missing legs, and marios body is melting while he drives the car wtf ? Gameplay is pretty much based on opinion and so is sense of speed unless you cheat. Super circuit didnt have online but online wasnt hugely integrated into gaming at the time...

Yes but Nintendo could of made a mario kart game similar to the DS version and have the game made on the N64.

@Dimitri0809 True, but it would of taken alot longer since it was their first 3D Mario Kart game and thats why they used sprites instead of 3D character models and karts. But if they made it later on they probably could but the levels would be different since many staples in the Mario kart series hadn't been invented yet, such as pinatas, different karts for each character and Toadette :P

ahhh 6th grade on the bus everyone had a DS and someone always had a copy of this game. the 1 hour long bus ride was awesome because of it. You only needed one copy of the game and we all had an absolute blast playing this game.

mariokart ds is the pinnacle of what a mariokart game should be. Drifting, power ups, and number of players were perfect. i still play this game on my ds over the wii version which was a huge disappointment for me.if mariokart 3d plays like the wii version i probably wont pick it up.

You`ll still get tons of hours on mario kart if you enjoy it but if you like rpgs pokemon is a must get. It also depends if you`ve played a pokemon game before. But all in all i think you should try to get both because they`re both fantastic

2. the new mission mode

3. awesome single-play

4. singleplayer battle
