  • my golf mark 3 dose the same thing, but only when i start it and just let it idle, and sounds like its gonna explode or wants to die

  • That happen to me with my 01 vw jetta and it was the speed sensor now the problem it's fix

  • i have this problem in audi a4 2.6 1997

  • What the hell man , i'm watching at your water temp indicator , what are those insane values? You have 190 and 260° c? I'm not drunk , my eyes are working fine but i'm still "reading" these numbers! Mine has 90 and 120 (1.6 SR '99 MK4 Golf)

  • @lupuradu Its not Celsius. It's Fahrenheit.

  • @burgundybass Yup , you're right , let's say i haven't thought about fahrenheit when i left that post :D

  • i have 2003 jetta 2.0gl. check engine comes up and disappear automatic.it feels just heavy throttle/picup. i do not remember the code right now.do u have any idea?

  • about £5-10 or a new engine coolant temperature sensor fixed my similar problem.

  • Man, you are so awesome for putting this simple video up. I've been banging my head over this. I replaced my MAF sensor and gave it a tune up. After cleaning out my throttle body this problem was solved. Thanks again.

  • Clean the throttle body...

  • Although a yr late, Best thing to do is find some1 with vag com or buy the obd2 cable yourself and find out what the check engine light is on for. if it says you are running too rich too lean (funny eh>) then its your maf. If not, find your maf and unplug the connector to it. if this fixes it then its time for a new one (~$300, super easy (2 screws and a clamp) to change). its a common problem. removing the connector will throw it into a preset setting. I'd be willing to say this is your problem

  • Got this problem like 2 months ago. I live in Montreal, it gets cold in the winter believe me, but thats not the problem. Have you Unplugged The cold air intake wire lately? This must be it, at least thats what the garagist told me. Just play with the wire itll eventually stop

  • btw may car is a comfortline model

  • i have a 2001 golf, too. but i don't have those two yellow lights under ABS. Also i don't have EPC light and that green light on EPC. Does my car have ASR or not? please inform me asap. thanks

  • i've got the same problem, was the throttle body replaced, or it was just cleaned and tightened back on

  • ive had the same problem? are u talking about the revs dipping and dieing then popping back up? i found it was just an intake tube leaking and playing with the air meter...therefore the car was trying to compensate for the lack of air..but it was messing with the meter..

  • i m glad that i help you.

put new video to see how it runs:))

  • you are crazy have no problem !!!

  • its automatic, thats your problem

  • now how the hell does a transmission have anything to do with this type of problem. it prolly is a misfire. or maybe its just because that ur check engine light is on

  • mm well by looking the dash, u have the check engine light on,, that would be helpfull into the diagnosis, than looks that u have an idle problem,, maybe a leak somewhere, or missfires..

  • that is throttle body & gasket problem

  • got it checked at a shop that specializes w/ vws and you were CORRECT!!! woohoo!!! in runs great now =)

  • @icevwgolf how much did that run ya?

  • @icevwgolf How much did it cost you? I replaced my battery in my v6 Passat (beauty of a car :P) which causes this problem to occur. Did you just get a reset?

  • Its the transmission by the sound of it..common on auto's.

  • from the way it sounds (whiny) and the way your describing how it shakes, I think It may be your transmission. What makes it seem evident is the fact it dies on you as well in reverse. I would get it looked at if I were you.
