  • THE BESTt!!! ahora no hay rockeras genuinas... me gustan 2 PINK... Y EN ESPANOL ALEJANDRA GUZMAN...........QUE VIVA EL ROOOCKKKKKK

  • First I heard this song as a kid,and i think it changed my life...

  • what a badass

  • Slade did this 1,000 times better.

  • @proslade no.

  • @Epic0Studios O.K. 1,000,000 times

  • @proslade no.

  • @Epic0Studios Yes. don t be fooled by her 'status'. Ever tried a Slade live version of this? I guess you have not. This is just crap compared.

  • @proslade Actually I have. I'm a HUGE Slade fan, but I think they have different feels to them. Slade's version is more modern with its guitar, and more masculine, while Janis Joplin's original is more relaxed and more feminine. I don't think either is better than the other.

  • @Epic0Studios O.K. FAIR enough and yeah it s a matter of taste!!! Of course this is the original, but that Slade, WHAT a live band they were, simply the best.

  • @proslade I TOTALLY agree. Probably the best band I've seen live

  • @Epic0Studios I am jealous that you have seen them live..........cheers. I just the sound of their version of this song is better, less flaws. Bloody brilliant, one in a generation (or lifetime) band. I like their 'softer' stuff too. These guys could do anything, any syle.

  • @proslade O.K. agreed 1,000,000 times.

  • Mediahoror, varför och inte.

  • none of the women singing today, can hold a candle in soul, beauty, and raw emotional talent compared to Janis Joplin

  • i love that voice

  • Cool !!!

  • Hi Janice thanks my friend a+

  • Winehouse didn't have the fukin talent janice had in one hand that doesn't mean she deserved to die, plus the fact back in those days it wasn't a accepted thing being a druggy i know i was one today just check into rehab if ya got money yur set.

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • Watching this video I can not help but feel sorry for the tragic end of both Janis and Amy!

  • @rbkpetroleo Definitely similar, both Janis and Amy, in their troubled lives. And listening again to Amy, I can see how Janis must have inspired her. I think Amy was a gifted and unique artist, but she was luckier to have lived in a time where strong and ballsy female vocalists were accepted. Janis had to fight every inch of the way.

  • @rokedetbamidbar What hard times those were! However, fortunately for me, the Woodstock Festival was a great window to meet her, listen to her and stay in our hearts forever.

  • @rbkpetroleo WTF No more sader than anyone else. Their short lives would have been amazing.

  • This one is good like hell. God , make it good for her.

  • I wonder how high she was?

  • @MizzLizzers What the fuck?! What kind of a stupid question is this? Does it matter?

  • @ana04041990 For all the tales of her being a drugged out junkie, she seems to be pretty darn in control of her performance. Sort of like when the Canadian snowboarder won gold at the Olympics years ago, then had his medal taken away b/c he tested positive for weed... my thought is if he can command that performance, and be stoned, he should get two medals. Likewise I'm even more in awe of her if she was completely blotto. So yes, I'm curious but no - ultimately - it doesn't matter.

  • @MizzLizzers

    thats funny as mate!

  • *_*

  • all this hippie shit makes me cry cause everytime i realise i was born the wrong time...

  • @stnolifer no my friend, if you believe in past lives... this just means you were there, you were a hippie whose died and gotten born in this life..

  • She was THE ONE, when I was young. She and Jimi Hendrix and Santana and Bob Dylan. Long years ago. Today, our childs and grandchilds like another kind of music. That's ok, because each generation has to find it's own style. For me: Janis IS THE MUSIC. Hopefulliy my children and grandchilds will find their way to GOOD music

  • My first album at 6 YO was Janis Joplin Pearl.......Pretty much influenced all other choices in music...... Not much compares for Soul or passion......

  • We miss you Pearl. No one can touch you!

  • Awesome, really ! Thanks a lot !

  • greatest female singer in music history

  • janis is soo siiick!!!

  • The best soul singer ever, white or black.

  • Janis smoked!!!!

  • She was one talented, crazy, tough queen of rock n' roll !

  • Outward beauty is skin deep and means nothing. True sexiness comes from inside, from the soul, and that Janis has in spades. Her voice, the way she moves, the passion she puts into her singing is incredible. I would so just want to look at her for hours. She is absolutely fascinating. Here's to hanging with you in the after life, sexy mama.

  • The voice is so good, love!

  • beautiful bluesy voice, Janis is my favorite female vocalist

  • I am not any kind of janis fan , but this track does stand as one of the tracks I cut my teeth on as a guitarist.

just the opening riffs , the rest is garbage.

I think it was so shitty it was remade a few times to get it right.

and even then nobody really wants to own it.

  • @azkeyz You may be a guitarist, but you sure aren't a musician if you diss Janis Joplin.

  • @lindsay0009 Don't worry 'bout it. He's probably just some Dragonforce-douche, who's like: HARD AND FAST EQUALS GOOD, TROLLOLOLOL...

  • @VictorRechnageL hahahahahhahaha

  • @lindsay0009 I totally agree, azkeyz - some idiots out there, eh?

  • r.i.p mother of blue's

  • shes good

  • If I'm not mistaken this was a performance on the Dick Cavett Show. Dick Cavett had a crush on Janis, which I think is funny. Anyway in the interview segment she was really funny. Like a comedian. You have to check but they might have the interview portion on here somewhere.

  • what a great great artist!! She died much to early

  • This is so god.

  • 51 personas son unos hpts

    Approximately 51 people are bastards

  • Not only sings well but also dance! A beautiful trip in the late 60's! R.I.P Janis!

  • All I know is that I LOVE Janis and anybody that doesn't is probably too young to know what it meant to be a singer/front-person before technology could make ANYBODY sound good.

  • @ SmokinMo I agree. She gets called homely a lot, but if you actually look at her face she had beautiful eyes and was most definitely cute as could be.

  • that's the first songof Janis i heard. one of my favourite alongside with Piece of the heart

  • Everything about her was beautiful, real, natural. She was a rare soul, that's for sure.

  • @acrosstheseaofyears You got that. When I think of those texas cumgobblers that made her life hell, I just wanna go there and nuke em all.

  • @kellybstar Everything about her just over-whelms me.I saw pics of her all dolled up & she was beautiful. She never thought she was pretty, but she was..& very sexy.My fav pic of her is the nude pic.Her body was in perfect shape, but her beauty shown the brightest when she was on-stage makeing us happy. She was a beautiful & careing soul- yet so sad.Janis was sensitive. All it took was 1 ugly comment from a jerk & it cut her soul like a knife. The older we get,The more we love- desire & cry for her.

:) God Bless U JANIS WE LOVE U

  • no auto tune here, just pure freakin' talent, love you janis

  • I love the way she dances!

  • ~*~Happy Birthday Janis~We Love And Miss You~*~

  • Janis é o máximo, um furação!

    Eu Te Amo...

  • Janis é o máximo!!!

Janis lyn Joplin te amor eternamente...

  • ei helvetti...

  • She doesn't need software to drive her voice!

  • uuuuaaaaaauuuuu just i like

  • I think she as beautiful as a woman can be...beauty is far more than what we see with our eyes, she embraces all that she is and that is true beauty...

  • god she's so sexy when she sings n slinks, i'd eat her twice a day just to be with her, a truly beautiful woman, f, crying again, i miss you Pearl

  • never ever be anyone like janis and can do what she does ,get down with the get down baby

  • Yes, she was pretty by her own way. And she was musical genius. She is that green light what recedes before us. Som we must beat on, boats agains the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past...

  • I guess it's quite stupid to wish death to alive people, even if some of them are talentless... but anyway, can someone tell when she made this performance? Please!

  • Janis was incredibly beautiful

  • OMG Her dancing brings to my mind as we used to dance in those years! RIP Janis!

  • Damn Grooooovy!

  • ohh janis !! q potente voz, q espiritu !! jamas te olvidaremos !! hermosaaaaaaaaaa

  • just love this song dedicated to my boyfriend lol

  • No words to express what I feel every time I listen to Janis. She was so expressive when she sang both rock and soul!

  • I love Janis Joplin..... The only artist put there today that is a LITTLE line her us Crystal Bowersox. I hope she makes it. Bet again it's 2010.... We love you Janis!

  • Awesome video of janis.. Thank you for posting and sharing...

  • It's been 40 years, and Janis is still the queen! RIP

  • thanks for everything...... rip

  • A MAMAE DO AXEL ROSE, POREM ORIGINAL...MARAVILHOSA,UNICA

  • what?

  • Janis is a burning flame!

  • I love janis joplin... She was the first concert i went to 1970 in oahu hawaii. she will live forever in my world!! ;-)

  • <3 Janis <3

No one rocks the stage like Janis.

So sad that she let the 'haters' get to her; it was a challenging time for women who's role models included: June Cleaver and 'sociaties puppets' - mouseketeer.

  • AMEN Janis!

  • @40Rtruss : LOL ! :-)

  • I agree with 40Rtruss

  • an amazing talent....never will be anyone to come near ...we miss you Janis

  • WTF is with those Japanese sub-titles? LOL.

  • ke femmina..!!!

  • Rock and roll summed up in one performance.

  • maravilha..

  • queen

  • She was just so damn good at what she did - every performance was full energy.

  • Man, I miss her.

  • ARTIST TODAY THERE NOTHING BUT TOY PACKAGED PLASTIC FIGURES.

  • I dont understand why some ppl called her ugly.I just dont see where shes ugly. She has a pretty face & a figure that I would die to have.Shes no marilyn, but then again,no 1 else is either.I just dont get it.I think shes pretty..inside & out& her talent definitely surpasses physical beauty.she wasnt ugly or plain.I think ppl saw pics of her in her wild clothes & sweat dripping from her head down 2 her pretty lil toes & judged her from those pics.Sweating 2 please us.RIP baby girl.w/love-melody.xo

  • @SmokinMo11 She was not pretty by any means. But it wasn't and still isn't fashionable for a woman to look rough. People are sallow. She is my favorite female performer of all time.

  • @SmokinMo11 I think people thought that way about her back then because she was so raw and aggressive and unapologetic for her behavior. And it being the 60's and the times that were changing people had apparantly never seen a woman really behave the way Janis did onstage, at least that's what everyone I know who was around back then tells me. Janis was a beautiful soul and I always thought she was a beautiful person both inside and out too..

  • @SmokinMo11 i agree, i think lady gaga is a right munter, joplin was raw and attractive without having to get her arse legs and tits out just to distract you from her use of antares software.

look at Beth hart, sexiest woman alive in music because she is a natural performer and doesnt need to get her twat photoed and published in tabloid newspapers.

  • @SmokinMo11 I completely agree!!! Why do we so often base our opinion of what beauty is on a couple of people!!! Anymore they are surgically altered beauties!!!! And if Janis is PLAIN I wanna know what you're using so I can leave it alone!!! LOL She was sweating her ass off to please our greedy asses! I bet my bottom $ Janis looks lovely in her wings while she sings with the ANGELS!! ROCK ON FOXY MAMA!!!

  • @SmokinMo11 I Don't know if she was ugly or beautiful, but I remember being terribly in love with her, kissing her photo (the one from Anthology) over my bed everyday when I woke up (I think this was happenning for about a year around my sixteen's)

  • @SmokinMo11 I know, right? I think Janis is one of the most beautiful women ever. Plus her music is great and she's so upbeat and fun.

  • @SmokinMo11 very well said!

  • Best natural talent (never had one voice lesson in her life) of all time, or certainly one of the tops. She is incredible. Zero makeup zero stupid outrageous costumes zero stupid things to get noticed in tabloids like scandals and magazines she was so REAL so genuine so her own self and man she knew REAL MUSIC, her music reflected how real she was wow what a soul and this was back in the day before there was nice recording/music industry technology so you know its raw talent its/shes THAT good

  • Female Ozzy Osbourne. She's great

  • Ok if you rated down you have problems! this song kicks

  • This lady was just awesome...

  • JANIS JANIS JANIS TE AMOO!!! ESPERO ENCONTRARME CONTIGO.. ALGÚN DÍA!

  • Over there we did listen to her, and Hendrix and Morrison. She was beautiful. She will always be beautiful. Today, those like Lady Gaga and that nuisance, Madonna, have to show their tits and asses to be noticed, or wear outrageous costumes. That's what branding and turning people into commodities have done to you. All Janis had to do was sing.

  • Catch you in heaven, Janis

  • she s beatyfull to me & thats enough!

  • Comment removed

  • Every one move over, because she is mine.

  • Not bad! I prefer NODDY HOLDER singing the tune!

  • I love you JANIS!

  • On the DICK CAVETT SHOW in august or september 1970 ; her last TV performance .

She died few weeks after .

  • Awesome !! Janis ......simply the best !!

  • yah and she detested heroin and the look-dead from H OD!

  • The one and only....Such power, carisma what is lady gaga,madonna..

  • @Swedegt500 - hey, its a big pool...room for everyone. power blues singers, pop artists, and social parodists are all welcome. BTW, its "charisma"

  • What a riff....damn...gives me chills...

  • janis joplin me trás lembranças de momentos especiais e de crescimento pessoal...love

    kris

  • The Best

  • That was frightfully good I'll warrant.

  • She still breaks my heart, 40 years later!

  • SHE IS UNIQUE!!!! SHE DO IS AN ARTIST!!!!

  • A singer...a guitarist...a drummer...a bass player etc...ultimately a band and even more to the point...and most forgotten bottom line...the song...this is art...i repeat...musicians create ART...there is no such thing as THE best or the worst. An artist paints with what they have and then so what they create appeals to the person that can relate and appreciate it for what it is. An average 5 year old listens to what an adult would consider crap and silly but it means the world to that child.

  • @odstassault But there are things that are crap by any decent standard. Consider the upcoming Iron Maiden album for instance. Sometimes the artists themselves are totally uninspired and are not putting anything into their creation themselves.

  • No lip- syncing allowed. Ever. Boogie queen of rock and roll!!!

  • No, it's not Ringo.

  • hey..the drummer...is it Ringo Star from the beetle....????

  • jeje, no por nada marcaron una época.

  • Is is just me, or was this from the Dick Cavett show? So awesome...the tops!!!

  • If people actually listen to lyrics like "...get it while you can...", she's talking about LOVE, NOT drugs.

A doctor that administered to her in San Fran as she was too high or having a bad trip, was asked by Tom Brokaw in a documentary revisiting that city and that time, if drugs were so essential to that "scene". He scowled and said no, she and so many others suffered and ultimately died.

So much for romanticizing the past......

  • Wow!!!!

I think this is a true live performance...doesn't appear lip-synced.

    Love the Late Great Janis.

She passed away when I was 13, and couldn't quite understand why my 15 yr old brother liked someone with such such a "scratchy" voice.

That viewpoint didn't last very long!

  • lady gaga es mierda comparado a esto !!!!!!! lady gaga is shit compares at this !!!!!!!! janis la mejor de todas.... janis rules...the best forever and ever

  • It did'nt matter about her showing her tits because she had TALENT. They twits nowdays HAVE to show their tits, because they have NO TALENT.
