i saw the movie and i loved it. they made dobby's death so much more dramatic and its kind of okay that hedwig died protecting harry instead of getting hit by a spell out of nowhere. the movie put a lot more humor than i thought they would though, and the scene with hermoine and harry dancing was nice, but it seemed a little TOO friendly for them. either way, it was an excellent movie

Aw, we know how you feel(at least judging by the comments I think I'm not the only one). I can't even imagine my life without Harry Potter. There are so many things I've come across because of it. Harry Potter books->A very Potter Musical->Glee and then I've discovered Fanfictions because of HP. God, I'm a nerd, but I think JK Rowling has done a great deal to make my life better, more enjoyble, more fun, more awesome in general :D

The books are pretty good kids' books, but they are definitely overrated. The ending of the last was also complete bullshit. Movie looks pretty ok though.

You could say that but the author doesn't delve into any of those themes enough to make justice to any of them. I never said they were bad, I think that the way Rowling made the HP universe was pretty amazing and somewhat innovative but they are definitely overrated. And yes they are kids' books.

I don't know what you mean by calling them kids books since a lot of adults read them and like them too. A good book is a good book and there's no need to label it as this or that in an attempt to put it down. Anyway, your childhood is part of who you are too.

I agree with you, and I didn't meant to put the book down in any way I just PERSONALLY think it's very overrated. I still enjoyed them but they are kids' books. Some adults still see cartoons ( not that there is anything wrong with that) but the main target audience for cartoons are kids. Sorry I am the best at explaining my points but I hope that will suffice.

the movie came out on the 17th in my country lol. but yeah i watched it last night and i cried like a baby, everyone else in the cinema was quiet and i didnt really understand why.. or maybe i was just really emotional :P
