ok my one clicks and its flimsy at the bottom and that makes no difference so dont make other people by the product.. and o yeah my old one did that to so i decided to do that clicking test that you so called fake broke the thing.. so everyone you just need to be positive that you have the right kernel and firmware for the card,

yeah you spotted it on. The one that has a flimsy bottom is a fake, i just saw at their website. A photo comparison shows exactly what you spotted, black bolt = fake, silver = original . They work the same but mine would randomly not load a game, which i could fix by reinserting the r4 back onto DS. Also the usb/microSD adapter on the fake one is a complete and utter joke. Mine didn't simply work, came totally worthless. It sucks having a fake of an already fake thing. :)

If the r4 card clicks it may not mean that its a fake.Notice that when you put the card into the ds it dosent just slide in like a normal ds card,you actually need to push it in.The click may happen because you need to push the card in which is pressing the sides of the card inwards.

your r4 might be older if you get a new one you can use a 4 gb my aunt try it on mine r4 and it didn't work but on a new one it worked

Just to clear up any confusion:

Fake or clone R4s work just as good as the real ones, maybe even better if you get the R4i or R4-SDHC.

The clicking method does work, but be aware that you might be just pushing the plastic down on the circuit board. Just check if the plastic is easily breakable.

The R4 sticker on the clone will seem a bit too perfect like a company made it. The originals, what are left of it, are not perfect and placed crooked.

And yes, the R4 clone logo is thicker.

@k3vns For MOST intensive purposes, clone R4s work fine. However....for many of the newer titles, the roms don't work. They would work through a different OS on the card, but alas! A clone will not run any other system but specific versions of Moonshell.

i got th esam eproblem to and it worked when i pressed the select button a few times, scrolling a bit between the maps (dont know what this does exactly but it works for me) and then open the game map. merry christmas and hope this helps
