@fluffyninjas If it is in great condition, you could get up to $1000.00 for it. There are a lot of factors that go into the value. I have, however, seen ones in fair to good condition go for as little as $400.00. The price varies quite a bit. Even if you do not want to sell it, you may want to have it aprazed by an expert for at least insurence purposes.
Walther P-1/P-38 ALL the WAY! ANd a M9 Beretta is a Walthger P-38 with a face lift. Beretta completely stole the lock up, safety, trigger system, gave it a somewhat concealable barrel and called it a Berreta 92. To this day, despite it's smaller magazine capacity, this P-1/P-38 pistol is just as modern and better than any other 9mm on the market. Period. It is a true classic and legend.
It's a nine millimeter, which is a pretty fast round, and the pistol itself is relatively lightweight, so you feel the recoil more than you would with, say, a M9 pistol. However, as you can see on the video, the recoil is quite manageable.
Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

It looks like the double action trigger pull on that one is really tight. Old pistols like this do seem to get a bit tight on the trigger with age.

In ww2 my grandfather killed a german officer and took his P-38, and we still have it, how much would it be worth?

Does it really have that much recoil for a pistol?

Am I seeing things, or does he have a FTF on his first double action trigger pull? Maybe the audio is a little off.
nda5150 4 years ago
you are seeing it right, there is a failure to fire on the first trigger pull. It's my room mate's pistol, and occasionaly it misfires.
