the skirt conceals your footwork for sure, but how many guys will be wearing a skirt on the street? is it really practical? don't you think that being allowed to kick your opponent becomes a lot more useful than hiding your footwork? how you gonna kick anyone wearing a skirt?
LOL this is funny but its true. I am thinking the sensei is one heck of a dancer with steps like that. Also you have to be quick so that your opponent doesn't know whats going on.
Thats why u wear "skirts" in Aikido, its so that u can't see their foot work. Yeah the "skirts" actually serve an subtle purpose.
