I agree, not a great movie, lots of technical inaccuracies; but it wasn't bad. There aren't enough submarine or any Naval campaign movies. Directors seem to be focused on Nazi Germany war zone drama. What they need is a recreation of Das Boot, or make a new movie with some nice ships like Scharnhorst, Yamato, etc... or do a movie about the wolfpack at least; english channel dash... Hollywood should pay more respecct to the Navy in their movies

This movie lacks character building. This movie is cramped full of annoying war movie clichees. Schmaltzy glorification of the US heroes and silly demonization of the Germans is adding to the annoyance and unrealism of this bad done movie.
Where Das Boot had a real good and realistic message, this movie has only patriotic kindergarten clichees and tidy American heroes.
It starts with the tidy farewell party at the beginning, that is characteristic for the rest of the movie.
Compare this party to the farewell party of Das Boot and you know what kindergarten is and what real sailors would do in a war when they know that they could die the next day.

Thanks. So America had no cryptographers of any kind making & breaking CODE? ha-ha. Initially broken by Polish cryptanalysis, Enigma decrypts from British and later American efforts were given the cover name ULTRA. (Germans changed Enigma over the years.) It's well documented, but I'll give all credit to the Brits if that makes you happy. Capturing machines & code books was key, many by Americans. AMERICAN cryptographers where expert at breaking code and making codes that where NEVER broken.

NO, it was total crap, boring and Matthew Mcconaughey/Bon Jovi are awful actors. It was historically inaccurate, but winners get to write history. The point is Germans had the Devil, Hitler & Da Nazi's. Holocaust? Heard of them? Shame on Germany. German cars use to be OK, Porsche, Benz, BMW, Audi & VW, but now they are total crap. US brands are not much better, but the price they charge for a BMW is a crime for the quality you now get. Any more questions Herr Von Da-Douche Bag? :)

I'm kidding my Teutonic friend (like your train stuff). I lived in Germany (60's Wiesbaden). I fly & layover in Frankfurt sometimes. I like Germans so anal & precise. We're on the same side now, allies. Got to love a country that has Octoberfest BEER Gardens, Jagermeister, schnapps filled chocolate & brought us the Lutheran Church (founder former German Roman Priest Martin Luther, died 1500's), but German music taste is bad (Hasselhoff?) and porn I hear with s%$# is disgusting. Ha-ha

Hitler? Little short dude, funny mustache, 3rd reich, nazi, world domination, storm troupers, SS, gestapo, blitzkrieg, hated Jews (but was one), concentration camps, gas chambers; Hile Hitler dude. (Back to U-boats) I know Germans are proud of their WWII U-boats. They sunk lots of defenseless un-armed merchant vessels, very deadly in first 1/2 of the war. However once we learned to crack-code, track & depth charge (hedge hog), blurb blurb to the bottom, Das Sunk. (Rauch I tut nicht den)

wow that was by far one of the most ignorant comments i have ever heard. we didnt single handedly beat the germans, the russians did most of the work and they were the ones who captured berlin. yes we did beat the japanese and did play a part in the victory over europe but that does not excuse arrogance.

Never said America didn't have help, but lets face it, no one out produced or out fought the Americans. We dominated air, sea & land. We fought on more fronts than ANY COUNTRY. Apologized for your dumb douche bag comment. America took tremendous losses. Yes Russians took loss on Eastern front, but to say THEY took Berlin is ridiculous. If it was not for America, Russia would be speaking German. You can't say nice things about America so I will. Pride isn't arrogant. Again you're welcome.

Russia did go to Berlin (because we bombed the hell out of it and came in by sea on "D-day" at tremendous loss).
