He seems so devoid of any emotion throught this movie and his career, a truly ruthless man. He even ordered his children to be killed before he and his wife committed suicide, despite the pleas and offers of SS senior officials and others to have them escorted out of Berlin.
I don't really think Stalins ignoring the west's please for assistance for 2 full years of war earned them the right to do anything, he could have ended the war by not supporting Hitler in 39 and 40 without having to fight Stalingrad or Berlin.

They'll never be any kind of story told from the Russian side of the war. To this day no academic historian has written a word let alone a book about the attrocities the Russians commited in WW II. Goebbels was such a horrible, vile human being. I hadn't realised how much so until I read The Third Reich At War. His uniform is a creepy reflection of his character; murky, dull and indifferent. He seems so devoid of any emotion throught this movie and his career, a truly ruthless man. He even ordered his children to be killed before he and his wife committed suicide, despite the pleas and offers of SS senior officials and others to have them escorted out of Berlin.

Because Guerrilla warfare only works on opposing infantry and vehicles. Germany was being bombed and mortared into the stone age. Not a whole hell of a lot guerrilla warfare will accomplish when the enemy has no fear of collateral damage.

Hitler may be evil, but no one can deny that he was a political and strategic genius, during the end of the war he started slipping due to the fact that many of his officers and advisors were abandoning him, and because the stress of it all had gotten the best of him. I am not saying i love or even "like" Hitler,all i am saying is that the way he brought Germany together after WWI has made me Respect his "leadership skills" not him as a person.
