The robotic agent is exactly what someone with low vision needs - if this could be perfected for self-driving applications (basically the car drives itself with vocal input from the occupant) this would be a real revolutionary breakthrough in transport for the blind and those who have low vision.

The pivoting wheels seems like an interesting idea but I wonder about the wear on the tires if it were in use. It's one thing to change direction on a nice, slick showroom floor but what about on gravel, cement or asphalt? That should chew off the rubber in odd ways leaving uneven surfaces all over the tires.
