  • Right out of box nikon scope with sunshade.

  • millet scope?

  • that's what you get when you buy a cheap remington......a junk bolt and action

  • thats a smooth bolt eh lol

  • Try getting more of your body behind the gun, it can really help with long range shooting... Nice Gun!

  • What scope is that

  • See how your whole upper-body got knocked back by the shot? Your body was on a huge angle. Lay almost streamline with the rifle so the shock travels all the way down your body it will help when firing more than one shot.

  • nice gun o and if u cycle it alittle faster u bolt wont catch and nice scope its huge

  • yep I recommend the model 700 for a good all around gun, at the range and hunting its fun and you have confidence in your shot after shooting these guns for a while..

  • Awesome :D

  • Don't point your toes down in the prone position, you are less stable. Point your toes outward and completely relax your legs..It's fun to shoot but in the proper positions you can shoot all day with less fatigue.

  • @Greenmarine6 if you have ever shot at something thats living, whare your toes are pointing is the last thing on your mind.

  • o ya u def need oil man, uk how most ppl cant stand the sound of a fork on plate; thats wat im like when i hear bolt actions that need to be oiled lol kinda an advantage n disadvantage thing lol

  • Nice speed and rifle. i've been looking to get one. Do you reccomend it?

  • LMAO she can't operate the bolt

  • nice gun, where did u buy tat gun?

  • Use your left hand to stabilize the butt of the gun, the bipod's there for a reason - and lay directly behind it, what are you trying to do laying crooked like that?

  • @anthcybo

i was about to say the same thing, and put ur non trigger hand on top of the butt for most stability

  • Holy shit, We went to the range that morning and did not have much time so we just went there and shot off a few rounds cause i had just got the gun and wanted to try it fast and video tape it, fuck stop criticizing if you don`t like it keep you retarded comments to yourself . thanks

  • o yeah u can really get use to a gun by just blasting rounds down range and not even takin the time to see how it shoots or practice ur form.. whatever.. its ok i wont criticize u for being a typical civilian wanna be sniper. looks are close but in the end still clinches when the shit hits the fan. likei said nice weapon.. but thats all teh vid has goin for it...

  • I love people who have nice weaponsand have no clue on using them properly

  • I hate to degrade people on here. But I felt that gun could reach a good distance of 1200 yards with 300-400 grain ammo, and that guy I'm guessing couldn't hit a target at 250 yards inside of a 3 inch spread.

  • Well 300-400 gran ammo is impossible as he is shooting a .308 however with a 168 grain match bthp he could easily reach those distances.. ask Carlos Hathcock.. he was rushing shit trying to act cool and fumbling with the bolt.. people slow is smooth and smooth is fast. after all ur shooting a long distance who is gonan see ya if u are far enough away and u make the first onecount by takingur time and doing it right. Nice weapon though.. WHOAH!!

  • Absolutely. Its a nice video. I do envy the rifle. I meant no disrespect, I know he was rushing to make it look good. I would have liked to see a target though. Its my personal preference. I'm a nursing student. This is my first year working at a hospital, seeing hunting accidents is no joke. But I love shooting long distance. I have a 30-06 with 230 grain, my max distance with the $1,700 scope is around 1,100-1,300 yards. I've shot it a very long time, And I know how my gun reacts.

  • It takes a good keen eye and again the gun looks very nice, I'm sure with the right scope and the right ammo he can use it as well as I can use my 30-06. I'm looking into getting a Lapua .338 which use like 500 grain ammo. The gun costs 5k and a quality scope for the 1000 yards+ is over 3k. So I'm hoping to spend about $10,000 on the total package, after I get my RN which will be in another year or so. Thanks-great gun. There is a canada sniper who made a world record of 2400 meters (1.5 miles).

  • Thank at least someone understands, I have been shooting a lot so I am improving very well. Got to get some newer vids.

  • What the fuck is WHOAH!!?

you tryin to be army? Wrong. and calling people Civilians?

yea settle the fuck down and stop baggin on people when they can prolly out shoot your ass

  • thanks for the comment

  • A lot of people like to criticize and then they don`t have any video of their expertise shooting, We had very little time that day so we wanted to shoot and it was a quick shooting video and i had just got the gun so fuck give a guy a break, I was not there for pin point shooting just blasting some shots off because I like to shoot and get use to the gun to see if I liked it or not, so if you don`t have nothing good to say don`t waste my time reading fuckin retarded comments... Comprondez Vous

  • I`m sorry for wasting your time watching this. thanks for the comments though.

  • hope you broke that barrell in right..... what caliber do you think would be the best in the 700 there many many diffrent choices im looking for range

    like 800 and beyond.

  • nope, oil very minimum for me in my guns, the gun was a week old there, nice and tight baby.

  • Might wanna oil your bolt

I can hear the lower receiver scraping against it.

  • let me get this straight this rifle fires a range of different kind of slugs?

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im thinking of buying this rifle and i was wondering why the bolt is sticky.did it come like that or did u do something to it? thanx

  • no that was just me, the gun was a couple of weeks old and the old mauser action I was used to didn`t compare to this one, The mauser would have to lift up much further than this one so I was lifting it up too high before hauling it back.. I am much better now... just like a different car got to get use to it right.

  • whats the deal with the sticky bolt?

  • Take your time buddy... keep your form and just squ8eeze those rounds off nice and slow. NIce gun!!

  • lol image if there was a spotter to his left and the caseings would fall on him LOL

  • what kind of scope are u using

  • U seemed to have feeding problems because u were rushing.

**Slow is smooth and smooth is fast**!!

  • thats from the movie shooter

    love it lol

  • thanks bud it seems to be better now.

  • I love that gun

  • The guy beneath me is right. I understand for the video may have been more comfortable but if your gonna shoot either use the prone properly or the sit.

  • Not to be over critical, but your prone position is pretty bad. You want to be behind the rifle as much as possible. You're pretty extreme in your body position angle, maybe 45 degrees.

  • Agreed.

  • I wasn`t there to look pretty just to vid some shooting.

  • my first thoughts exactly

  • Wow I guess everyone is a sniper! I am just a regular U.S. Army soldier ( and gun nut),in Norhtern Iraq. I use an M16A2 I didnt even get an M4. But I do have a personal Rem700 back home with a Leupold Mk4 and routinely shoot coyotes beyond 600 yds with out of the box 168 grain Cor Bon. Also a lefty, and I'll back that guy up I can work a right hand bolt like lightning with my right arm, without loss of natural point of aim or changing sight picture. LOL there's my 2 cents.

  • Im lefty also and run a right-handed turnbolt just fine. Its a little harder running a long action, but I own both and it's not a big deal.

  • fktestyyy-your some fella, can tell by way you talk-you know nouthing,,period,i am usmc sniper in fallujah iraq-made a statement about a sorry rifle, and get all your profanity crap-shows you have little sense if any.which i think you have none at all.i never fight a battle of wits with someone which is you,i consider totally disarmed-if you dont understand it,mail me and ill explain it to you..usmcsniper23 1/3 recon sniper scouts fallujah iraq..thanks for your support..

  • The M40a1,a2,a3 is a remington 700 with a fortress stock, a unertl 10 power scope, and an 0.80 heavy gauge barrel. so i beg to differ, the remmy 700 is an awsome rifle, the man in this video doesn't know how to operatre a bolt and/or he is using the cheapest .308 ammo he can get.

  • affirmative ;)

  • looks like operator mal function to me....lol lol needs to join Marine corps to learn how to shoot..hahahahaahahaha

  • your a fucken fake, USMC snipers use the Remington 700 and you call your self a usmc sniper. you wish you were a sniper don't you?

  • I dont think they are using that rifle much anymore actually. there's this talk about ushering in either a smaller caliber semi auto with a double as large clip or going to a semi automatic .308.......the only people actually using that rifle full time are police teams. even they are switching to german rifles...

  • yeah my uncle is in the USMC and they still use the M40, .50 bmg, and he told me that they are also using a semi .308 similar to an ar-10 but i forgot the name. My uncle actually prefers the bolt action, he's a left shooter so it's basically semi for him because he uses his right hand to chamber a round immediately after he shoots.

  • he is a lefty and they didnt give him a lefty sniper rifle? odd

  • I don't know but he definitely prefers the bolt on the right side to chamber the next round faster. He said that he's competed with other snipers and this gives him a great advantage.

  • is the USMC the american equivilent of the british SAS?

  • not exactly. the SAS are elite special forces soldiers and a Marine is,well, a Marine, a regular soldier. The Marines do have special forces (Marine Force Recon) and they do things similar to the SAS. hope this answers your question.

  • the Navy also has the Seals which are also similar

  • raptor is correct as far as I know. The american group that is closest to the SAS would probably have to be Delta Force, they are very close as for as being elite trainging. They were used in the Iran hostage crises, which took them months to plan, and still failed. I do not know if they are still around but they were at one time. I encourage you to read "Delta Force" by Charlie Beckwith, he started the group. They are actually called Special Forces Detachment B-52 Project Delta

  • thanks for the comment, you sound like a robot.

  • @cbrdude600 You should invest in some long range rifle courses, it would be worth the time and money if you're serious about shooting. (better use of your time than posting videos that show nothing about the rifle and horrible shooter technique) Honestly, who shoots prone all lopsided like that? it's unstable and just fucking wierd. I can also see you wobbling around on the bipod, not gonna hit shit that way.

  • @cbrdude600 hes right. Hes not even looking where the bullet is going. and if your not shooting at a target your a retard. He quickly wastes 3 rounds.

  • Not all remingtons are that jerky in the bolt, he has obviously got some dirt in it and thats thats making it stuff up, i keep mine well oiled and its extremely smooth.

  • why are you cocked funny while firing? That is killing your accuracy.

  • try using the palm of your hand to work the bolt

i find it a lot faster and smoother

  • wow you missed all 3 time never seen anything like it

  • missed what, was shooting in the air, it was new years day!!! Thanks for the comment.. I learn alot from all these kind of remarks.

  • Just some good old fashioned ribing.

  • wow that just convinced me never to buy a remmington the feed is disgracefull compared to my tikka

  • Tikka is push feed too isnt it? I'd rather have the remington.

  • yes they and it is, arent the remingtons a controlled round feed?

  • No remingtons are push feed. The only 2 factory options with controlled round feed is the new Winchester Model 70 and the Kimber 84. There are some custom rifles based off mauser actions but thats it. Remingtons, Savages, older Winchesters, new Marlin XL7s, all push feed. Sako has a "CRF like" with a rotating extractor VS the fixed mauser claw. I personally dont care which rifle feeds what way, I only care what groups I can put on paper.

  • how does it group ? im not out to start anything but just interested . . the old rugers where controlled round feeds but i dont think the new ones are ? ? do you no much on rugers? i no there a mauser action ..

  • Aren't Rugers still controlled feed? CZ550s definitely are.

  • Mehh, i dont really care. Bill Ruger was a sell out to anti gunners. Anyway, the CZ550 is CRF as is the kimber 84 and 8400 and winchester M70.

I just purchased this exact rifle (700 VSF) fluted, floated, heavy barrel in 22-250 and im about to pick up a leupold VX-III LR/T in 6.5-20 x 50 with target turrets and side focus. Then i need dies, bullets, primers.....LOL shooting is a constant money spending sport.

  • you will never group up a quarter inche grouping with a 10x at 1000 yards, only by very good marksman or by luck.

  • wow... i really like your rifle! where did you buy it, and who did the custom paint?

  • he has a remington 700 VSF, the stock is standard, thats basically my dream rifle

  • if your so great with guns then do you know the technical stuff behind shooting a rifle, its not all point, and shoot you know. and the USMC uses 10x out to 1000 yards, so you just wasted money on that.

  • dude, you are right about the 10X, we use the unertl 10X-fixed. on the m40..works fine..

  • its a nikon buckmaster 6-18 x 40mm. with a sunshade. Its about 400.00 canadian, very clear and seems to be withstanding lots of shooting at the range.

  • You'll not find a 700P or even a used 700 PSS for $549. They're closer to $800. All 700P/PSS have a free floating barrel.

  • actually I'm about to go back to dick's sporting goods where all calibers of the SPS Varmit model are around $550 new.... so yeaa with mounted and sighted scope!

  • what kind of scope would you perfferably chose for this rifle

  • there are many kinds of scope but these guns can shoot up to 500 to 700 yards and so you need at least a 18 power scope. Leopold is nice but pricey, I went with the nikon and it satifies me.

  • you dont NEED to have a 18 power scope, where did u pull that from. we do just fine with 12-15 power scopes at 1100m on a 12x12 plate.

and by the look of your tech you dont seem like u could touch anything out to 500-700 yards.. dont miss inform people.

  • Mickatron has a good point...

  • he is so dumb lol maby he hasnt shot a gun befor and is talking out of his ass

  • he needs an 18x scope to hit a 3.5" hard drive sized target at 500-700 yards instead of a man-sized target.

  • you need to follow through. leave your finger on the trigger even after the shot brakes. your non firing hand placement needs more consistency (read; not touching the rifle). just my 2 cents.

  • Thanks, I have been at the range a lot more since these video's and I seem to be getting better with that problem, I started boneing the gun. Thats what a sniper from the military told me, what it is when you position your other hand on the stock make a fist and put the stock in between your knuckes and when you breathe this part of your hand remains very still. I tried it and it seems to work for me.

  • cool, glad to here it

  • awesome rifle. how much did that set you back? (with the scope too)

  • Scope prices vary extremely. The Scope does not come with a factory packaged rifle (usually), so it is silly to package the prices together. Scopes can cost from $300 to $3000 and looks practically the same.

  • In canada the gun was about 1200.00, and the scope 500.00 after taxes, you know we have to pay our gov't.

  • where are you in canada im geting one for christmas lol so im glad to find the price

  • im in the UK and i got mine for £750, i know you can get them in the USA for about $750, so even though the currencey differs and all they are around 750 of whatever your currencey is lol.

  • lol ya i got mine,and i love it

  • I am very happy with my Rem 700 sps buckmatsers edition 30-06. It was between them or Ruger, and I'm very happy with my choice, it's a great rifle!

  • iv heard from diff ppl that ruger is better an remington so they both must be pretty good

  • what gun model u think is the best ruger or remington?

  • Remington 700 by far.

  • wow the sound delay is crazy

  • That's because of the 1400X telephoto lens on his camera. Sound travels slower than light.

  • actually it is not delays on the original video but when I uploaded here it came out that way.

  • which do u like better, the vsf you got, or the sps?

  • I prefered the vsf but it is very heavy if used for hunting or carrying long distance and when you install a scope and bipod just adds to it, but I don't walk I shoot.

  • That was about gay, you have NO clue on proper hand or body position. I bet you can hit stuff at 300 yds but thats about it

  • You could tell him the proper hand and/or body position instead of being a smartass (that IF you ever shot a gun yourself). Everybody's a damn genius on youtube nowadays, sheesh.

cbrdude600: keep it up dude !

  • Whats the base and rings on it?

  • Leopold mount and rings. value of about 200 dollars canadian.

  • im gonna purchase an m82 in about a year

with the best parts and quality....... thnx for mentioning that scope name id like to buy it :)

  • DUDE WTF IS THIS H-U-G-E scope??

    is it for 2000M+ range????

  • Not quite but has a range to 6 to 24 x 42mm. It is a Nikon. I like it alot.

  • Sorry for DP, but if so, I was interested in buying one. I've narrowed by choice down to either VSF or 700P with 26" barrel.

  • Its a VSF.

P's only come with a fiber stock and bull floating barrel.

The choice you should use is the environment you will use it (Hunting, range, or safe queen). The P's are heavy, and if you are going to lug it in the field you should look at the titanium version of the 700 they came out with last year. Otherwise for range and competition the P should suffice.

  • what's 'safe queen' mean?

  • Those guns that live in gun safe's ... never really fired. Mostly just taken out, drooled over, cleaned, then returned to the safe. Kind of like the virginity of some of the emo gamers out there hehehehe. Just kidding.

  • haha, thanks for the info. :)

  • Is that the VSF?

  • yes it is. remington vsf 308 cal, free floating barrel.

  • I have a rifle just under 1 MOA with 168 Hornady, just under 1 MOA with 180 Federal...get 175 HSM....5 or less. Mine is an AR style, 1 in 10 twist. Just thought I would share.

  • so probably using 168, 175 or 180 gr projectiles...HSM ammo has M118LR equivalent ammo that you should look into trying. you should be able to improve your groups quite a bit there and not have to spring for Federal Gold!!!

  • HSM also has the 168 and 175 Match which does a bit better than the MIL rebuilds. Not to dis, but the military doesnt use the best quality, just the best valued.

  • The HSM M118LR equivalent are quite accurate...they are not "rebuild" that I am aware of, nor are they military...besides the military M118LR is quite different than the old school M118...it takes a while but they learn

  • what is the twist rate?

  • I think its 1 in 10"

  • You got some nice scope there mate :) is that leupold?

  • No its a nikon optics.

  • Thanks, I love it!!!

  • looks like a fucking x-ray scope lol

  • Rem 700 is great. I have one in 223 and another in 30-06. I am buying the 270 this weekend.

  • Lol, yeah I shoot my dads and love it. Then again I love almost all guns...

  • what ammo were u shooting? and howd it go straight out of the box? i got around .9 (but i was using factory loads, the cheap ones) nice scope!

  • I was using the winchester ballistic silvertips 168gr. But for me wasn`t doing what I wanted, now just winchester 180gr from factory but considering reloading my own later.

  • nice i love the 700's. i shoot it in .300 win mag, stainless steel, put a muzzlebreak on it and lighter trigger. also .270. nice gun and nice scope man way to rep thos remingtons.

  • shit thats a real scope, what price do u pay for that beuty?

  • Not really that bad around $600.00. Very good for the price.. I really like it.

  • what scope do u have??

  • It is a nikon buckmaster 6x to 20x x 44mm. side focus with a sunshade in front. Love it!!!
