  • LOL. I can't BELIEVE this is on YouTube. I was in the audience for this taping and the crowd was indeed told to act "obnoxiously." Jones wasn't a fan; she kept walking through the aisles during the performance with her producer, rolling her eyes. Of course, we had to sit through two hours of taping for a 40-minute show to get to the band, so we were ready to get up and shake a bit!!

  • Wierd, but that´s DJ for you!

  • I wish I could hear what J was thinking, LOL!

  • this is soooooooooooo freaky

  • The funniest thing that I ever did see!!! Great song - wrong audience! Why has J aged 25 years over the last 13?

  • What is it some law that after an artist commits an act of creation they must follow it up with an equally intense act of destruction? This law of the conservation of creativity sure is at work throughout much of the history of rock performance and here is not an example of it.

  • ah what do you expect, ed sullivan's dead.

  • j mascis so young!

  • I guess we'll be seeing Yo-Yo Ma on Steve Wilkos next week.

  • @musicvideofilm2010, made me laugh

  • j is the only person who can make a ben and jerry's shirt cool

  • J is so thin and ungandalflike here, still, same awesome Dino sound as today.

  • It was on I think WGN-TV or WFLD-TV.

  • gee the audience dancing wasnt staged at all lol

  • This was weird, I didn't even know talk shows booked music acts. The guests on the show should've danced onstage. But Dinosaur Jr. is the best ever. They should've played 'Alone' instead to make the studio audience moan and wail and melt down into a sea of ooze on the floor...

  • * The other full stack is for Lou Barlow...

    That's not him playing bass

  • In you discription you say J. Uses 3 full stacks, sorry to be an ass this show he used only 2 full stacks. The other full stack is for Lou Barlow. He combines guitar amps with bass amps. Pretty Awsome!

By the way, J.'s birthday is tommorow!!!

  • it's not until June 7th

  • the audience couldn't take the solo i guess. j does not bring the ratings. purple.

  • It's amazing that she would even have them on here show. A couple of years ago they were on the Henry Rollins Show on IFC and they played Forget the Swan from their first album. It was an epic moment for television. One fo the greatest bands ever...

  • J rules. Glad the original lineup is back together. Saw em' were great as usual. One of thegreatest (and underrated) bands of all time. Dopey crowd? yah, oh well

  • does anyone know what songs kevin shields and belinda butcher (MY BLOODY VALENTINE) sang on Hand it Over

  • they both sang on 'I Don't Think' and Kevin also sang on 'Never Bought It'

  • Wats wrong with the spazstastic crowd haha

  • i like how they cutaway right in the middle of one of j's epic guitar solos....

  • 0:39 - J and Mike are like "Um, what the fuck is the crowd doing?". Gah, this video is so Nineties: The fugly-looking sweaters, shitty talk-shows, and incredibly corny/stupid crowd.

J fucking rocked it, though. I'm pissed they don't play stuff from "Hand It Over" enough, 'cuz I fucking loved that album.

  • oh mayn...this is class...the audience have no idea but are loving it

  • gotta love the intro melody coming in with monster octafuzz hehe =)

  • Hopefullty J made some of these people's ears bleed.

  • lol, this is great. i love it.

  • Oh man no jazzmaster :(

  • a telecaster!

  • V Bizzare At The End Of Like A Trash Talk Sow But Good Though...

  • I agree, Ive always loved Jenny's guitars. she rocks.

  • that was heavy and nice. i'd always love J's guitar. its color is very sharp, like it sounds.

  • Wow, Jenny Jones was a lot hipper than I remember. I know she used to be a drummer. Does anyone know if she drummed at all for Fine Young Cannibals?

  • good god i wish i was a bit older in the 90s i rember stuff like this eating kd and watching nirvana and pearl jam alice inchains andsound garden on ( muchmusic) good lord this stf is gonna come back hopeful corgan new stuff can get all the old school grungers off there ass and get them into making bands so we can have a revultion !

  • corgans done dude, its dead, there will be similar movements in the future but this exact scene will always be dead. R.I.P

  • You're right.

  • They kick ass, but its not the same without murph and lou.

  • I saw this when it first aired. I was ticked off that they cut to a commercial just as J. was starting to jam on a solo. I thought maybe they did that because it was too loud and rockin' for them.

  • I bet J was like 'wtf?' when he saw that crowd of hyperactive oldies and idiots. Great and funny show.

  • I never watched much of the jenny jones show, didn't know they booked bands. dinosaur Jr?, maybe GG allin would have worked better

  • if your a member of this audience you´ve got 2 choices - either get with it or smash your chair up and use it to assault the band. would´ve been interesting to see what would´ve happened had this been the gerry springer show :-)

  • This shit is weird lol

  • It's the lights man, when they turn down the lights and the music starts blaring...the atmosphere shifts into a concert mode so quickly, it takes everybody by storm. One guy gets into it, gets up, and everyone goes nuts! Dinosaur is power.

  • what the hell is dinosaur jr doing on the jenny jones show?

  • Even though TV wasn't that great back then, it's the golden age compared to today's shit.

  • yes its a blue box, its amazing, but its better with other pedals. haha look at the dorks in the crowd, j looks different...

  • Dinosaur RAWKS, but the real stars of this video are the audience members. They are really getting into it...

  • yeah sounds like a blue box

I had one of the dunlop reissues and sold it cause its so fucking atonal and fucked up sounding

I might get another one since theyre cool as hell to use with a syntheseizer

  • grow up youre too old to party with your daughters!

  • They fucking love it!

  • lol, this is great. i love it.

  • what the fuck.. hahahahahahahaha!!!!

  • jenny jones... rolfmaodying

  • i will never forget i was about 17 or so when this album came out my friends told me he saw it the night before and i was whatt the fuck are they doing on jenny jones ??

  • hahaha. look at the dude in the plaid at 1:05

J's looking at them like, 'What the fuck are they *doing*?"

  • Funny but don't blame America! They were happy to get air time. Jenny jones was the most naive, almost stupid talk show person ever. So ditzy and ignorant at times I wanted to grab her head an give it a good swirly!

  • Ok so its HILARIOUS to watch people in sweater vests and white shorts diggin on Dinosaur...

at the same time J is a golfer so you can imagine what they think of him at the country club

  • that was funny (last comment)

this video confirm the notion of s.w.e.d.

  • is that a fuzz factory he uses???

  • Fuzzrite, It's an MXR Blue Box you're probably hearing. Check this out: http://guitargeek.com/rigview/223/

  • The most amazing backing vocals ever :/

  • only in america...

  • They are like performing to a retard pageant...sureal,i'm sure nobody in that 'audience' even knows the band!

  • wow the crowd are kinda scary, Like zombies

  • Awesome video, I've never seen a talk show crowd get that into the performance.

  • why the fuck were they on jenny jones??!!??

  • I don't know but its funny as hell. The audience is full of a bunch of retards.

  • @robotkiss222 an obviously coached audience. The guy on the far right at 0:26 is hilarious. He knows how to start a party!

  • @ManuelHung They would often have underground rock bands perform on the show, as well as some unknown R&B/ rap acts. Once, they even had David Archuleta, then age 9, perform "And I am Telling You (I'm Not Going)" from the musical "Dream Girls". This is likely the biggest musical guest that The Jenny Jones Show ever had, though.

  • what the hell are the people doing? awesome performance

  • freakin hilarious! Dino Jr. on Jenny Jones!

  • Dino Jr are the shit!
