kinda stupid to run outside of a box, but i like the creativity. i do have minor thing against QSC, but nonetheless, nice amp, i still stick with Carvers for quality with power. I'd like to see you put it in a box and give me a frequency response graph.
@bait28 Sub was sold long ago. I have another custom one, built by someone a bit more pro than myself. The QSC amp has served me very well- I have no complaints about it.
@TheBrian1 oh, cool. my only thing against QSC is the freq response dosen't go very low(seems to roll of around 50 HZ, fully cuts of at 20), and distortion.
@TheBrian1 just found this amp and was wondering if it's worth it. it'll only be powering a 12" cerwin vega and possibly a 10" fx sub. This listing is for one Craig ma2160 Car Audio Amplifier 2 Channel Powerplay Car Amplifier 2 OHM stable Mosfet PWM Power Supply 160 watt Total Peak Power Supply.
@scbjgs I would definitely say this amp is worth it- it's built nicely and does its job. Depending where you get it, the price varies from like $350 to $500 new. I'd look to eBay first- I got this one for about $175 I believe, before shipping. There are deals out there...
@MAnGaThaBOy there are a lot of ways to power a car amp in a house. i didn't know much about it at the time. were you born with all knowledge of stereo equipment?
@scbjgs yes there is...like with computer power supply ...but it all comes to that 12V wire...And no i weren't born with that amazing gift....it takes hours and hours of hard work.... and btw....your video suck's
@MAnGaThaBOy exactly. i was just asking what method you used. and exactly, considering that, you dont have to act like a complete douchebag. which one? i mean, no one told you to watch it mr. dumbshit
@scbjgs unlike all the shitty responses you've gotten, i would say get a really high amperage transformer and the put a bridge rectifier on the other side, add numerous high uf capacitor to it and you have a big 12 volt dc power supply(you can make one that will provide 12 volts at 100 amps, only pulling 10 amps.)
why do u like big dustcaps? they are ugly! lol i want sumthin like the new JL subs w3 and w7's... looks much better and cleaner. also much more modern. dustcaps give it a 1980's feel.. specially big ones... ugh
lol must of ur set up is kind of mix up from automotive speakers and automotive x-over....try set-up ur rmx 850 to a real pro audio enclosure and processors?u can really appreciate the quality of ur QSC power amp.I have dosen of those QSC rmx and what I can say is Im really satisfy with the performance over all...thanks ILOILO SOUNDBLASTER AUDIO...
FYI the 1st gen iTouch sends a clipped signal when at full volume... I know cause I was testing something with a scope and noticed the clipped signal, adjusted the ipod volume down 2/8 and it went away. It is enough to hear on music or test tones.
What's the motor from on this sub? Looks familiar but then again I can't see the back plate so idk.
@the9876543 The motor is from an early Kove Armageddon. It's older, but still bumps. About the clipping...I figure that most MP3 players will clip at some point- but this was just a quick demo. I also had the audio going through the dock connector, not the headphone jack, which is *supposedly* a cleaner signal.
dude, u spent the time and effort makin a custom sub, its awesome btw, now make a custom transmission line enclosure for it, and stick that sub in it, it'll be rockin man :-D
