Honestly, I don't understand why people WANT such ridiculously technical gameplay in SSB. I know a lot of MvC2 players who turned their nose up at Melee who are enjoying Brawl+ and Brawl- simply BECAUSE they don't have to adjust their combo fingers to gamecube pads, and that combos in smash are (like in the original SSB) more reactive than sequential. I always found this was one of the charms of the series. I'm not really dissing the project, just...I don't get why everyone obsesses over melee.
@AronFigaro the combos in melee are also more reactive than sequential. the technical demand does not detract from the combos or gameplay of the game.
@AronFigaro Simply put, Melee lovers got too used to Melee's oddities; when Brawl changed everything, some liked the change and some didn't. We can all agree that random tripping was something that should have been optional, if not nonexistent entirely, but some people just clung to Melee simply because they weren't satisfied with Brawl not being "Melee 2," as it were.
That said, I hope the Project M fans don't go all elitist on us like Melee enthusiasts tend to do.
I see that Falco is back to his Melee self. Are other characters that got changed returning to the Melee versions, e.g Ganondorf, Koopa, Purin, Link or Marth?
And I seriously hope there will be a Japanese codeset. Voices in Japanese version = better.
@SSJCerious The reason Y I think it is broken, is that 1, there is new characters in brawl, and using project M on them, what Im saying that the person who makes them, can make them broken, and two there are a lot of attacks that you can't evade at all, P.S. I h8 the May-lay air dodge.
@SSJCerious I doubt there are any online matches. Most people who play Project M play locally. And trust me there are tons of bugs and glitches in Project M. I'm pretty sure that aerial dodging is still being fixed, not only that, but certain hitboxes for each characters so they can be played out like their melee counterparts.
Let's not forget brawl characters as well. They all need to be melee-fied.
@chaserthewolf I didnt know the atches were local, as they seemed online for me. Aerial dodging in melee....sucked. Why anyone would want that back IDK. The hitboxes i understand, but as a beta, all they need to release are melee chars...

You can use either the brawl dodge by keeping the control stick neutral and if you want a melee dodge, just tap the control stick in a direction while aerial dodging. Plus, it's called Project M. Of course they would put back the melee aerial dodge. lol
As for the game itself, it's still in the alpha stage. They are testing it constantly. If you want to see more about it, go to smashmods . com. Just go to the Project M section.
I cannot say exactly which one is better (Brawl+ or Project M) since I've not played any, but focusing on the videos that I've seen, I would say that Project M looks way better than Brawl+. It takes back a lot of Melee stuff.

Some was ok with brawl, some couldnt let go from melee to brawl(like me ^_^). So this Project: M is AMAZING! This will prove to Nintendo that Brawl was a fail and Melee was a success.
It's not to replace Melee. It's a fun project to see how much of Melee can be emulated in Brawl. Their IS a demand in case you didn't know for a Melee 2.0.

I PLAYED PROJECT M!!! My thoughts are great but i didnt like the no items thing. I did enjoy however the new stages and how squirtle, charizard, and venusaur are their own characters. I also aprreciate the jumping caps. Ask me where i played it.

@PikminMania those are just glitches, i believe, because of the greater gravity for everyone. recoveries are difficult to work, they say, so it takes time figuring out how to mod them correctly

I PLAYED PROJECT M!!! My thoughts are great but i didnt like the no items thing. I did enjoy however the new stages and how squirtle, charizard, and venusaur are their own characters. I also aprreciate the jumping caps. Ask me where i played it.

Also the pokemon are already all separate in Brawl+ and Brawl-, which you should try out when you get the chance.

For the people saying "Just play Melee", I (and I'm sure many others) actually still do play melee. It's just that we've always wondered what it would be like if something as this were to be the real sequel. No problem in experimenting with different things, right? Not all Brawl discs are going to implode with your Wiis either, so don't worry =D.

@guybuddyson I've been totally doing that. Fairly, but yeah almost all of them. Stupid me for wondering if some replies actually had any useful information in them.
I'm not a melee player (never owned it), but I'm totally for this. I just hope they don't chain themselves to some glorious ideal melee image like they have somewhat to brawl in Brawl+ and get afraid to change certain things. Doesn't look that way so far at least. And yeah a new trailer after several months would be cool.
