I want to get into this. I do MMA right now, and I was wondering if there is any grappling in this kind of fighting. I've seen really old paintings of German grappling for sword fighting and stuff. Would I be able to use my Jujitsu to throw people down and submit them with a choke or lock? =P Cause that would be awesome...
@ChamorruWarrior not in this this particular group, but empire of medieval pursuit allows take downs (and punching and kicking) and consists of the same members mostly. its mostly not possible to choke someone out in the armor because of helmet and gorget (neck protection) or use a joint lock like an armbar because most articulated arms prevent you from over extending your elbow however using concepts like leverage for taking people down can be verry useful but then usually the dagger comes out
i have a question i am a younger person and i wanna join the sca and do the teen fight under 18 and under 16 so i can't get in to heavy weight so how do i get to teens?
I thought it was a rule (per the handbook) that all one handed weapons have a lanyard attached to them to prevent the weapon of being lost during combat.

@ChamorruWarrior choke, a guy in armour. probably have to knife them while they are down in a weak spot in the armour

on the 2 hander being used as a shield does it have a buttspike thrusting tip cause up close that may be handy.
