  • God bless the fallen.

  • @Ultimaton100 Spoken like a true Nazi! Where are you when it comes to Hiroshima? How about Pearl Harbor? How about Coventry? I dont see you on those vids saying "bless the fallen" but you cry over 9500 deaths on a ship that was a valid target of war.

Paul Tibbets was a war criminal, Marinesko wasnt. Tibbets knew he was dropping an ATOM BOMB on city that had thousands of civilians. Marinesko saw a troopship, painted grey and armed, in the night.

160,000 deaths at Hiroshima, 9500 on the Gustloff

  • War crime and crime against humanity. But, Stalin was a monster equal to Hitler.

  • Ruhet in Frieden meine Deutschen Brüder und Schwestern und wisset das ihr nicht Vergessen seid!

  • anybody hear me?

  • You did a beautiful job with this film. Thanks for sharing it.

  • I will NEVER forget what the Soviets did to that poor Liners. I HATE the Soviets, & I will HATE for this war crime to it consumes me.

  • The barbaric sinking of the M/S Wilhelm Gustloff should not be labeled a “tragedy.” It should be rightly called an act of TERRORISM and the families of the defenseless victims should be justly compensated by the Allied nations. Regardless of what the Nazis did, the murder of innocent civilians is never justified. Please correct the title of this video to read: “M/S Wilhelm Gustloff: A Forgotten Act of Allied TERRORISM.” Thank you.

  • Like Titanic, Andrea Doria, Queen Mary, etc. SS Wilhelm Gustloff will be on my list of immortals.

  • and if the Red Army didn't unlock the blokade all the people there would be dead!

Also on Gustloff were many german oficers and soldiers.so Glory to Marinesko!!! ))

  • @admiralkuznetsov Glory huh? Glory to a man, no a monster, who so willingly sent thousands of innocents to their deaths? No glory goes to such a monster, only damnation.

  • @Ultimaton100 LOL You glorify Paul Tibbets so who are you to judge? Oh yeah, you were raped by a Russian as a child and so that is why you hate Russians so much, yet you dream of sucking Hitler's Crank.

  • that was a war, nazis didnt care about soviet and allies civilians. they destroyed many peacefull vessels with people on it. the same situations on the land, for example the Leningrad blokade-the aim to make the city empty of people by blocking the ways delivery the food and constant bombing the city! Hitler and Wermacht generals knew that civilians were not evacuated.in 1941 in Leningrad were lived about 3 million people, and more than 1million died during the blocade!

  • The Wilhelm Gustoff was a good ship. I fell sorry for the Liner & her people.

  • Wilhelm Gustloff maybe a dark ship, a enemy ship, But that doesn't mean I don't love her. I love her, like I do with every Ocean Liner. The Ocean Liners are my mistresses & my friends.

  • Looking back, who was the real villian of this War? The nazis killed 7 million jews, POWs and etc. Under the USSR over 50 million citizens were killed by their own government. Who was worse for the world?. Could we not of just taken all the jews and put them into palastine BEFORE the War? Ill take 7million dead over 50 million anyday....of course i dont think the jews are special like most do. They are human just like i am. Is one jew life more important then one Russian citizens life?

  • more than 10 000 nazis died.so its very good! )) Glory to Marinesko!

  • Responsible German officials could translate the given warship in the category civil, namely:

To remove artillery arms from the ship, to remove military flags and to lift flags with a red cross, to clean from the ship of 1000 military officers which main passengers actually and were

Total, those who has admitted on the military are guilty is blown off civilians

  • Responsible German officials have pushed on this officially accepted on arms of MILITARY fleet of Germany a vessel about ten thousand people that it was military so so about it speak military flags, artillery arms and 1000 military officers transported by it what was its main problem

  • Hitler was a dumb fuck idiot who destroyed his own country and millions of his own people too. This sinking was a tragedy, innoicent victims perhaps but you reap what you sow.

  • A tragedy? A ship named after a nazy leader? The Germans are the ones who started sinking ships with civilians (and only civilians). This was a military ship transporting troops. The Russians didn't sink an hospital ship.

  • @thewirah She Sank Carrying Nearly 10,000 People Onboard. ALL OF WHOME Were Either Injured, Elderly, Children, Women, And Civilians.

Nazi's Or Not, How Do You Justify Killing Non-Combatants, Kill Tohusands For The Sake Of What? 30-100 Nazi Guard?

    Women,Children, Elderly, Injured.

People Who Would NEVER FIGHT Again.

She WAS A Hospital Ship Beforehand, Then She Was Painted All Grey And Turned Into A Refuge Ship.

  • @TitanicMatthew They were more than a 1000 nazis on the boat. The Germans made the choice of mixing civilians and military. They could have perfectly turned the boat into a civilian ship and leave the military out. They didn't. This collateral damage is nothing compared to the number of civilians killed by the Germans.

And don't forget that the Germans were engaged in a TOTAL WAR. The soldiers would have fought against the Russians once in German territory (thus causing more deaths).

  • @thewirah So we do what comes naturally, we SINK ourselves to being as low and cruel as the Nazi's by sinking a ship full of innocents?

Gimme a break. Be it 1 nazi or 1,000 nazis it still wouldnt have made ANY difference to the wars outcome.

    It was a Needless sinking.

  • @TitanicMatthew Maybe not to the outcome but it might have delayed the progression to Berlin, the liberation of a concentration camp... It's easy to decide after the war that this wasn't decisive. The casualities for the allies on the Easten front were already huge at that point. Anything to stop the war had to be done.

  • @thewirah There wer'nt any nazi soldiers on board. If they were nazis they would have stayed and fought.

  • Comment removed

  • @TitanicMatthew we cannot help humanity without losing our own humanity

  • @sanderrodijk So philistines and brutes would like to have you believe.

  • @thewirah You express yourself as a barbarian, a bloodthirsty savage. People like you have no place in civilized society. The barbaric sinking of the M/S Wilhelm Gustloff should be rightly called an act of TERRORISM and the families of the defenseless victims should be justly compensated by the Allied nations. Regardless of what the Nazis did, the murder of innocent civilians is never justified.

  • @thewirah The Russians sink a civil ship...! Thats it !!!!

  • It is very unpopular to ally with "enemy".

    History gets written by winners.

In Eastern Europe people know and are of many things...only they want to forget and move on..

  • Could you imagine if the Germans sank a American or Soviet ship full of refugees ??? It would be written in our history books talked about in school movies done and spoken about how evil the Germans are. Then they would have hang all The Germans who where on the ship that sunk it.

  • What program did you use to make this video and once again Great video!

  • @IIIIIRepoIIIII I believe i made this using windows movie maker, it was awhile ago and i used to alternate between Windows Movie Maker and "Pinnacle Video Editor" so yeah i think it was WMM ^_^

  • is egal ob hitler oder stalin es waren bei A-Löcher

  • I don't think this HORRIBLE tragedy gets enough attention, in my opinion. In fact, I just recently learned of it. So terrible. Thank you for making such a wonderful video! Defiantly one of my favorite ships and wrecks.

  • @samsdancingtown Anytime ^_^ I'm Glad I've Helped Raise More Awareness ^_^ Cheers~!

  • A very unhappy story <:(

  • nice Vid..

  • sad but true :(

  • allies were as criminal as the axis and in many cases were much worse !!!!!

and do not forget that the other side was not just Germany.

    GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL

  • Innocent !? R U F**CKEN STUPID???

There were women and kids BUT you should know that in accordance with intern. laws with regard to wars it is clearly said that any ship carrying refugees or any other other ship used as a hospital MUST have a red F**ucken CROSS on it's board! it is prohibited for such a ship to navigate as a part of warship convoy etc.. so the only F**cks who did a mistake were German authorities. as for the soviet submarine Cap he was doing his job - FIGHTING for MOTHERLAND

  • REST IN PEACE {*}

  • you all need to read up on this tragedy. the russian sub captian had a court martial over his head and was "looking for a big break" to impress his command and lose the court martial. he never even told his command where he was going or that he left in the first place. so he wasnt doing his duty. DONT COMMENT ON SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST!!!!!!!!!

  • Thankyou For The Compliment :)

  • it was a war crime because it was basically unarmed and it was obvious it was carrying refugees , so those cretins who say it wasn't are mistaken.May they rest in peace. 88

  • I didn't know it split into three pieces.....or was that another ship that got torpedoed? this ship was very safe, unlike Lusitania sinking in eighteen minutes from one torpedo, the Wilhelm Gustloff sank in an hour from three torpedoes! so it was alot safer than the four stackers.

Don't think this is meant to be judgemental but I was just saying the facts.

also this was a TERRIBLE tradgedy because alot of children, wounded soldiers and German citizens died on that ship, I feel sad for them. Dx

  • The Ship Wasn't Originally in Three Pieces, It Sank Whole, But The Russians Came Along Looking For Stolen Nazi Treasure And They Dynamited The Wreck Blasting The Entire Mid Section Of The Ship. The Bow And Stern Were Slightly Severed From The Middle During This Demolition Process. No Respect For The Dead Right?

  • It is a permanent shame the US took sides with Russia in that war. I try to love my country but is is difficult.

  • @catbonez thats right

  • Why isn't this ship in common knowledge? Is it because of some sort of guilt over World War II? The war was awful and what the nazis did was disgusting, but Jesus there were children on that ship. Shouldn't their deaths be remembered?

  • Political Correctness Effects Every Chapter Of History Of Every Country. This Poor Ship And ItsLost Lives Is Just Another Fatality Of Such.

She Was A Nazi Liner, Carrying Wounded Nazi Soldiers, Nazi Sympathizers, And German Civilians.

Thats How History Remembers The Gustloff Sadly. It Was Because of What Flag She Flew That Effectively Erased Her From Common Knowledge.

  • It is not possible to express sympathy for the way Germany was destroyed in WWII. Dresden, Hamburg, etc........these are not discussible in my country (US). Plenty of bullshit about Hiroshima, Nagasaki.......I know why, and so do you.

  • @brandybuck21 Why? Oh its easy to answer that. Many of the tragedies happen around the world. Many worse tragedies than in the most common countries eg GB or USA. The thing is that those western and most popular countries have money and they can distribute and sell themselves more than eg european countries. People buy this shit from west because they rule the world, one of the world's empires. I mean who remembers what Poland or Czechoslovakia or France or Hungary did during WW2? NO ONE.

  • @brandybuck21 Brits and Americans sell their stories to their people that they did the most. Well that's fair enough. That helps the economy and makes you feel special but the truth is that then the people from these countries have no general knowledge about whats going on in the world or what tragedies happen. Let's take tragedy in Oslo recently. Something like 100ppl were killed cause of some maniac. Who remmembers about it in the western countries? No one. This is how Gustloff was forgotten.

  • 5000 children died on that ship. It makes me so sad and angry that it is the innocent civilians, women and children of Germany that had to pay for the crimes of the nazis. The german people didn't ask for the war, it was imposed by Hitler and his criminal clique. May they burn in hell.

Beautiful video. My respect to the german people. Greetings from Sweden.

  • Quark - its a german word for not true or so

  • Ohh Thanks, makes Sense. Ugh

  • It means nonsense

  • We have forgiven but we will never forget... Rest in Peace

  • wery gut

  • Imagine the terror of those poor innocent children who found themselves drowning in the cold water.....very very sad....

  • I agree, War is War. I was in the Canadian Navy for over 20 years so I appreciate the statement. I am thank-full that my time serving my Great Country, we never had to do such a thing as what happened here. The death of so many Children is just too sad in such a way. I agree, with the responses that will come that will state that the Germans did this as well to other Nations Children and that will be true as well. War is Murder, worse tragic. Killing should be the last resort never the first.

  • You may be thinking of the Steuben which had the 3rd largest loss or the Goya 2nd greatest loss....

  • There was another ship that possibly lost the same if not more lives lost but I can't remember the name of it started with an L, I'll get back to you on it.

  • She may have had more lives lost than Titanic, but the Titanic is more famously known.

  • I will never forget them, rest in peace

  • Thanx for the note and I did further reading on this subject. I was not aware before of the military implication of that particular voyage. Still all said it was such a huge shame so many died. For that matter the whole war was tragic

  • People never really understand how tragic this sinking really was. I understand that she was German and it was during the war. However the cost was too high. 4,300 adults died and worse 5,000 children. These are not exact numbers but so close. The USSR did not need to sink her as she was not in military service nor had any real weapons, but a few for self defence. The USSR knew this well. They wanted vengeance at all cost. At that moment she was a refugee ship nothing more.

  • Baltic Sea is fovourite Neptun's Graveyard

  • you're wrong, this ship was officially in kriegsmarine military service, besides civilians running from east prussia it carried also soldiers, weapons and loot that germans robbed from beaten nations. You may feel sorry for them now, but those were bloody barbarians running like rats from what they did by themselves

  • Ignoring The Fact There Were SS Troops Onboard And Officers, We Must Remember That No 9,000 Civilian Lives Are Worth A Few Dozen Officers, Especially Women And Children.

What Part Did THEY Take In The War??

  • SS troops or not, they weren't engaged in fighting. The death of one innocent isn't worth it. The terrible revenge that women, children and the old suffered because of the nazi bandits was and remains a disgrace. No one was ever punished for killing, raping, robbing Germans after the war. many died in the East but many more died in france in labour camps. Again women and children jews, germans or Poles suffer because of men in jackboots with guns.

  • there was not SS troop and officers onboard, only one U - boat Divison they must to go to Kiel. More than 10. 000 refugees was on the ship. Over 5.000 children and babys drowned and frostbitten!

this was the biggest ship disaster gave. a war crime and mass murder of innocent children, women and old people!

  • It was a Criegsmarine transport by then. Painted nazy naval gray with swastikas. It had cannons of it's decks and lights off steaming in a middle of Baltic in 1945.

A legitimate target for any allied unit that time.

A tragegy - yes, but never a crime.

  • @zipacna1980 on the ship was only one anti-aircraft gun(Flugabwehrflak) and no cannons on deck. The ship was painted with military hospital colour and the red cross!

It was a crime, wise guy!

  • @zipacna1980

....one commit warcrime under many, you murderer.

  • As the ship's equipment included antiaircraft weapons, it had been travelling blacked-out, it was not marked as a hospital ship, no notification of it operating in a hospital capacity had been given, and as it was transporting combat troops, it did not have any protection as a hospital ship under the international accords governing this.

All of the above are known facts.

  • @zipacna1980 It is the Kriegsmarine, and what does the swastikas have to do with anything. It was standard German Navy Flag at the time, all German ship, Civil or not flew that. So that is not a reason to sink a ship.

  • what a @@@@ you are

    legitimate like Dresden

  • No comment. War is cruel. It doesn't make the defender criminal. It was Nazy who started, not Allies.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mariuss1 One does not combat barbarism with more barbarism. Those that act in the same manner as the Nazis, deserve the same fate of the Nazis. The criminal sinking of a ship full of innocent civilians is a Nazi-like act and those who committed it, like the Nazis were, deserve to be justly tried for a War Crime, for a savage act of TERRORISM. Those who act like Nazis must pay like the Nazis.

  • Great tributes Wilhelm Gustloff and those who died on her should be remembered for ever with Titanic and Lusitania.

  • USS. Reuben James, another tragedy, sunk in "peacetime" by U-boat, April 1941. Athenia, passenger liner sunk 1939 with hundreds of civilians, some Americans, what then? Who sings for them?

  • Would You Like Me To Make A Tribute For Them?

I Do Videos On Request Pending My Availability From Work And Such.

So Would You Like Me To Make One?

I Just Need A Ships Name And A Song To Use.

  • Could you make a tribute movie about The Estonia?

  • The M/S Estonia? That Sank After Its Bow Door Came Off?

  • Yeah that's right, the MS Estonia that sunk in 1994 in the Baltic Sea.

  • Alrighty Then, I'll Make That Video Number 2 On my To Do List. Will Keep you Posted,

    Cheers~!

    Matthew

  • Thanks :)

  • their were KIDS AND WOMEN AND I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT SOME WERE FAMLIYS

  • Excellent video. The worst maritime disaster in naval history, committed by the Zionists who ran communist Russia at the time. People please remember Germany only became Fascist because of the evil Zionist Communist red beast which was taking over the world, including Germany for 2 weeks until it was smashed by the remains of the German army in 1919. We have to stop blaming Germany for responding to communist terrorism which has now taken over the world in the form of Zionism. Down with Zionism

  • LOL "My Immortal" by Evanescence is a pretty deep song. It wasn't his fault the ship sank so brutally. The lyrics and the pictures are synced quite well together. You don't need to be a song analyst to realize that, you just need to listen to the words of the song. I dunno about you but I felt my throat tighten when I saw the faces of the children on board and knew what was coming, my throat tightened.

  • This video is great!!!!!!!! I am not crying, but I think you have acomplished you objective. This is very emotional in deed...

  • Alas There Are Some Shipwrecks That I Cannot Edit To "Everyones" Liking, All I Can Say Is I Tried. The Wilhelm Gustloff Is Close To Me Because I Studied It With My Grandfather Who Fought In World War 2....Due To The Complexity Of Her Story It Is Very hard to Edit One, Especially From What Little I Have On My Computer. All I Have Are A Few Dozen Recent Songs And A TON OF Anime Hits, And That's It.

So All I Can Say Is I Tried.

Least This One Is More For Those Lost, Then The Previous One Was.
