Love, love, love this song! I'm curious about the end, though. He says "She's alive." I'm hoping he's talking about the Church here and not referring to God.
Well, to be 100% honest, God doesn't have a gender as we know it. It says in Genesis that we are made in His image, male AND female. The reason we say He is because of the culture in which our faith came from. Males were the head of the household in Hebrew culture. I have no problem with that, and I'm not a feminist per say, but God isn't technically male, nor female. He is both and neither, but yes, I do think that in the last line he is referring to the church
@ecoangel818 Yes, he is referring to the Church (followers of Christ) as She...God came to earth (Jesus) in his image which is "man"...woman is "of man"! Christianity, the man should be the spiritual head of the household too!

i don't understand what the other person meant by "generic". maybe if you listen to the actual recording, you won't find it generic? even with this acoustic version, i thought there was a good balance in sound. in the recording, the sound's very rich and thick and it's actually very refreshing in the sense that it's pretty different than much of contemporary christian music these days. i love the fact that the voice on the recording actually sounds similar to this live version too.
seems like everybody plays with a pick. i was taught to strum it with my fingers. my guitar teacher plays with his fingers and can still do all the tricks people with picks can do and more tricks in all
I heard this on Air 1 the other day and had to look this song up...really awesome sound. Somewhat reminds me of Need To Breathe or Andrew Ripp vocals...which is a great thing! So catchy and powerful lyrics...thanks for sharing Air1
@bornagain2day I'm doing the same thing with my right palm muting the strings behind my pick. It's definitely an acquired skill. I hope to master it soon. :)
