As to the Ukraine - their pipelines deliver almost all the gas to Russia's European customers. A service for which Russia were also not paying 'market prices'. Now lets not pretend we understand the murky dealings of the gas industry in Ukraine and Russia, but at the moment while Russia has the gas, it needs the Ukraine to deliver it. Surely time for both sides to develop a respectful, friendly, mutually beneficial business relationship? Apparently not.
