  • The king of love, our beloved Martin lives on. And his spirit is rising anew. Praise God. Ruth

  • I was 9 yrs old living in the NYC West Brighton Pjkts in1968 when he was shot. I watched the horror on my mothers face with warm tears running down her face nonstop. Now my mother is with the Good Dr. King. When I listen to this song, the tears start running down my face.

  • he completed his important work here on earth in a very short period of time and then was immediately called home. may his soul rest in everlasting peace. thank you for uploading this excellent and meaningful video.

  • God bless the dead...RIP Doctor King...

  • Gene Taylor wrote this song and it's a master-peace.

Thanks Gene, I never heard a more perfect tribute to the Prince of Peace.....

  • God help us remember Dr. King's words

  • People you better wake up... Obama is not for the Nina Simones of this world... not anymore for the Martin Luthers of this world... She would have been disgusted to see how a black man plays the white man's power game... WAKE UP!

  • Those are beautiful words, omoroomoro. Thank you for them.

  • Folks you better stop and think, were are heading for the brink, now that the King of Love is dead -

"Always be proud of yourselves and never let anyone attempt to make you feel small. Always be a seeker of knowledge and study in school like it is oxygen. I know that Martin and Nina would agree" -

I will always love you Martin & Nina jcj vabeach va

  • I haven't heard that for some forty years........It's as impressive as it was then, I got into a lot of strife over this song, but it hardly matters now.

  • @Whyolin ghandi -.- asshole

  • @miembrosgibran

you are a little bit of an asshole, my dear. Just check. Gandhi.

  • @gsaxita I agree but thats more than 3 reasons.

  • Think this was the flip side of Aint Got No Life? I brought it on release and think its still in a drw somewhere.

  • First time I've ever heard this. You could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of songs that have got me close to tears, and now this is one of them.

  • Breathtaking!Nina simone a genius.

  • what a voice!!! she was so talented and i totally agree....she would have been there cheering with the rest of us when a blackman was finally voted into the white house!!! this song is so beautiful and yet so poignant!! xxx

  • I'm sorry that Nina did not live long enought to see President Obama elected

    What a talent, what a voice !

  • "Democracy Now!" television news program broadcast a photo montage tribute to MLK tonight with this song behind MLK's "Mountain Top" speech as the soundtrack.

  • This indeed is a very moving video

  • Thank you so much for posting this, I heard it years ago and I really wanted to hear it again. Its very moving and profound.

  • I remember hearing this when I was a young child about 30+ years ago. It really touched my heart then and even more so at this present time. I am glad I came across this tonight. A powerful message for all to hear and see!

  • I too, cried the first time I heard this beautiful song.Does anyone out there have the original recording? For those of you, who hav'nt heard it, It is even better than the versions here on the tube, honestly, it will blow you away. Originally on a 45rpm, parts 1and 2. If you have it, please put it on line. Thankyou

  • I cried the first time I heard this song. I think this has to be the most powerful song ever written about the death of MLK Jr. Great lyrics by Gene Taylor but undeniably powerful emotion from Nina Simone. Thanks for uploading it and adding the visuals.

  • This is serious. Even 40 years later.

  • A wonderful song, full of emotion and feeling. Remember, It does'nt matter what colour you are, nationality, or religion, there are only two types of people on this earth, Good and Bad.Peace to all.

  • This is wonderful.Thank you for sharing. May we NEVER forget and continue to strive for the principles he stood for. The work is never complete. PRESS ON!!! ~ Peace
