Eminem better than Nas...that's quite funny, Nas is a credible street poet who can outshine anyone. Eminem made a mockery of rap and somewhat turned it into a circus, even though he has some good rhymes and nasty punches. Nas overall is much greater as an artist he kept it real with himself and never completely sold out. Everyone had borrowed off Nas style even Pac and BIG, so Eminem clearly isn't on the same level he's more of an entertainer than poet.

Incredible rapper but did not release enough material either Ready to die classic Life after death classic
nas illmatic is better then any album jay-z released or eminem.............shit biggie bite nas slang and album cover(raekwon purple tape), 2pac knew it by calling out nas name when nas did not even sell then or call him out, jay-z sampled on his first album and was dying for jay-z to guest appear on his album. Lastly eminem was critized greatly for trying to sound like who on his very first album ever......NAS!
oooooo thats biting hahhahhahhah wtf man em wanted to be sound like nas in his first underground album album so wat if nas used the same rhymming words compleatly differnt idea em sounded like jay-z too when he was underground
WTF are you talking about? Forcing lines together? That sentence had no discernible meaning in the context of what we're talking about...you're a fucking nitwit.
I like Nas, but the guy is not very good at crafting multis. He doesn't understand the concept of matching up syllables...he sprays syllables everywhere in futile attempts. He would never have thought of "fake ID/HIV" had it not been for having heard Role Model.
First of all dawg, get a life and stop taking this shit so seriously. Were talking about two people whom neither one of us even know. If you don't even know Eminem, then why are you getting so offensive. You don't know the guy, so take a strangers dick out of your mouth you fucking loser. Your actually trying to argue that Nas bit off of Eminem because the rhymed the same words togther. Once again, the line Nas spat had no relevance to what Em said. It was something completely different.
How the hell did Nas bite off of Eminem because he said "Some be in the club with fake ID, careful for you meet a man with HIV". How did he bite off of Em for rhyming the same words. Do you know how many words there are in the English language, and you think just because Nas chose the same words to rhyme he bit off of Em. Dawg, you sound like a fucking jackass. Shut your stupid ass up and get off Eminems dick. "you're a fucking nitwit"- LOL! Damn your a loser.
You're an idiot--I'm "getting offensive" because I think morons like you deserve to die. Eminem and Nas are the only two to use that rhyme scheme in a song...and Eminem did it in a song before Nas...a song that had a fucking video made for it. I don't think it's a big deal...but while we're on the subject of who bites who, I think it's something worthy of bringing up.
Gimme your keys, Im drunk and Ive never driven a truck/
The glimmers of hope provoke those without dollars to dream/
Through your existence become wealthy knowledge is king/
give me something by Eminem where the use of words control the expression more than the fact he talks about how crazy he is. Eminems rhymes are based more on the fact he strings some of the wierdest things together. He hardly ever expands his overall vocab.
Uh...not quite sure what you're trying to say (considering Eminem has as many concept songs as anyone), but Rock Bottom, If I Had, It's OK, Never 2 Far, Brain Damage, Sing For the Moment, Lose Yourself, Fuckin' Backstabber, Backstabber, Stimulate, Don't Approach Me, Stan, My Fault...I know I'm forgetting some others.
you can call it spraying random, but Nas' older tracks had a much less 'random' structure (One Love and such) so if you think all of a sudden Nas just lost how to keep a structure together, you must be stupid. Have you ever thought that maybe Nas write the way he does because its way he wants to rhyme?
Eminem also makes words that dont even rhyme and rhymes them together. His verses on Renegade are some of my favourites but he tried 5 syllble lines 4 the whole 1st verse n sum only just rhyme
How dumb are you? Every song writer in history rhymes words that don't really rhyme. TRUE "rhymes" are basic things like true/blue/you/do. None of the things in your Nas example technically rhyme, either. If you want to look at who STRETCHES more, Nas does it more than anyone...other than maybe Canibus. Eminem in his prime came the closest of any multisyllabic rapper to rhyming things that technically rhymed. Nas couldn't write a song like "Rock Bottom" to save his life.
True, words dont really rhyme, not always but how did Eminem come up with rhyming 'America' with 'Embarrased'. He tried rhyming 'Stuck' with 'Good' in Fack in his shitty period.
Eminem in his prime aint the closest, no way!!! Maybe you should check a rapper by the name of Percee P, the song Put It On The Line. Eminem hasnt put anything down that detailed ever.
I dont believe Nas has made a track like Rock Bottom but that dont mean he cant or that hes not as skilled as Eminem.
True. Eminem is one of my favorite rappers, but your making him seem like the best rhymer in the world. Eminem is not fucking with AZ in the multisyllables(Check 'Rather Unique'). And I will abmit that Em is a better rhymer than Nas, end of disscussion. But that doesn't make him a better artist. Nas is one of the best song writers and conceptual artists in hip hop history. Eminem hasn't made a song like "Rewind", or "Book of Rhymes".
He has yet to make a song with as much emotion as "One Mic". Hes a good storyteller, but has yet to tell a story with as much detail as "I Gave You Power"(breaking down the body parts of the gun), "Undying Love" or "Fetus". Hes yet to do a brain fuck like "Understanding"(a track that could have inspired Lupes "Dumb It Down").
Also Em in his prime got his original flow and sytle from AZ and Nas. Giving nods to his intellegence, and his "cerebral". This was made popular by AZ and Nas.
Well, "One Mic" is one of those kinds of songs that only comes around once in a career...what makes that song special is the way he delivers it (and the production). I will say Nas is probably the most creative rapper.
As for the flow, I'd say Eminem's flow in his Infinite days was Nas/AZ like...but by the time the Slim Shady LP came around, he had morphed into something quite a bit different.
I don't know why you say he can't fuck with AZ in the multi capacity (I think maybe I should use the term "multiple word" since technically just rhyming a two syllable word with another two syllable word is "multisyllabic"). As I was telling poorkiwi, you're not gonna find someone definitively BETTER than Eminem in the multi area...just some guys who can give him a run for his money. Personally, I think Copywrite comes the closest. Little Vic is pretty good, too.
Why would he want to? Creative ideas, yes (so was "Stan," though, so I'm not even sure I agree with the premise of your statement)...neither one particularly strong lyrically.
^LOL! Dawg, please tell me your joking. If not, I think your trying alittle too hard to piece lines together. Those lines don't even relate in the slightest, and Nas wasn't even speaking about himself. Fission Mailed!!!!!!
"we need bullets hurry up,run !" in "Bad guys always die" - Slick Rick
Almost whole first verse in "Can-i-bitch" (reference to slick rick's "children story" there are very similar lyrics but Em changes them a little)Also first lines in "Quitter" are very similiar to lines from "LaDidadi" but they are modified. Em is a big fan of Rick therefore he uses his lines in his own tracks. But I forgot. Very few fans these days know who Slick Rick is. Find other reasons to hate Hov.
this my fav song off dis album but the so called greatest hova coulda atleast bite eminem's rhyme sumtyme in da middle of da verse, not opennin ur song wit sum1elses work. but then again it wuz 1 of da illest lines
Man it's about time Jay and Nas drop a whole album together. I mean the chemistry is there, and for some reason, each bring out the best of the other. Once again Nas came out on top in this song. Jay's verse was fire too.
the O.G. NAS brings the best out of Jay. with the exception of T.I. and short list of others, The south is WACK!!! True in deed, rap had to take squat somewhere. the heart has always been NY. even a cali kid like me know that. PEACE
this shit is SICK...if I were them I would have saved this track until the south goes away from hip-hop and the REAL hip-hop comes back because that's what this reminds me of...it's that REAL HIP-HOP...ya gotta love it man...fuck soulja boy..lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hip hop lives in the south so live wit it. but in agreement, yea souja boy ain't hip hop, its just fun...but i know what is, T.I., Jeezy, Ludacris, Dro, Lil Wayne, Outkast, Boosie,Gnarles Barkley, Trick Daddy, Young Buck...
Hip-hop does NOT live in the south dawg it's just making a pit stop there for '07...hip-hop was born and LIVES in NYC,but I do like some of the artists you mentioned here.....
Fuck Da south, ya'll are (not)hip-hop at all, very far from it, tell jeezy to write something other than phony coke tales and guns, NYC is the realest shit on earth, we created hip-hop, this is our shit!
ok look hip-hop is everywhere #1 eastcoast west coast mid-west and south but most of the dudes u named aren't hip-hop(especially lil wayne) ludacris and outkast yeah but da rest naw
southern MC's are these people:
Luda,outkast,Scarface,Z-Ro,K-Rino,UGK,devin the dude,8 ball and MJG they are MC's dat keep hip-hop alive in da south...not really this mainstream shit
u don't c him stealing T-Pains voice box and use n it like wayne so i disagree with that statement and every time i listen 2 some underground music in da city or a underground station on radio i hear luda tracks like i hear canibus tracks and necro tracks etc.
just cuz some one said in da mainstream don't me he's fully mainstream
Nas homied Jay-Z on both songs, jay is lryrically weak, he needs to listen to his 1st lp some more, cause i'm havin' reasonable doubt that he's a real fuckin' lrycist, all those unnecessary pauses in his verse, get the fuck outta here. Nas was and will always be lightyears ahead of this ni99a, fuck who sold more, b/c they both got more cash than me and anyone who likes to bring up that weak azz rebuttle. Nas was better than pac and big, and sholdn't even be compared to jay!
Jay took that from Eminem "I used to give a fuck, now I give a fuck less what do I think of success it sucks it's just too much stress" that's Em's line originally
the resaon why he talks about his riches is because the freaken song is call "success"..duh!..to many ppl hate...saying hov suck..ladada shit like that...that dude can rhyme let him rhyme...you haten cause he stylin..hahahah
yea it was apart of the song about being sucessful, yea but Jay does talk about his riches in most of his songs now but this one could have been better, it sounded like Lil Wayne was rapping, but Nas's part is what makes me get the chills.
I'm so sick of niggas saying Jay bit Eminem like Em hasn't bit Jay before either because he has.
But anywho, Jay & Nas killed this track. But unlike Black Republicans, where I think Jay got the better of Nas, I think Nas had the better verse here. Nas' verse though however will most likely fly over some's heads.
my mans I respect your comment and all. But Jay got dusted on black republicans. I honestly just listened to the song. NAS KILLED THAT NIGGA. I say on "success" it was a litt more close. But Nas still took it home
Best track on the fucking album. Jay cocky as fuck. Nas spits a classic verse to the point describing scenes from the movie I don't think he killed Jay on this one they both got they own flow. They both on fire. On 1:50-1:55 is Jay calling Nas O.G.- Original Ganster?
after hearing this, as usual, i googled some stuff nas was saying.. niggas need to know who othello is... j and n were tight, but did jay just recite ems lines? good joint though... 50, listen and learn hahahahahahaha
Damn NaS killed that shit, you guys just are intelligent enough to understand why his verse was fire. Jay was definitely hot too. This track all together is monster.
this something u gotta listen to with the screw face, something u gotta just nod to the beat wit for a minute, than u listen and get blown away...this the hardest song on the lp

Nas, I Can, 2002 "as cute as can be, up in the club with fake IDs/Careful 'fore you meet a man with HIV."
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
oooooo thats biting hahhahhahhah wtf man em wanted to be sound like nas in his first underground album album so wat if nas used the same rhymming words compleatly differnt idea em sounded like jay-z too when he was underground
udee24 3 years ago
How exactly is that biting? Word for word, thats not biting. He had what, like 4 of the same words? Big deal.
pimpinho3z 3 years ago 2
Uh, maybe because it's HIS rhyme scheme.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
Uh, maybe because your FORCING LINES TOGETHER! He used the same rhyme scheme, comeon. He rhymed the same words. Just stop, please.
SageofSorrow 3 years ago
WTF are you talking about? Forcing lines together? That sentence had no discernible meaning in the context of what we're talking about...you're a fucking nitwit.
I like Nas, but the guy is not very good at crafting multis. He doesn't understand the concept of matching up syllables...he sprays syllables everywhere in futile attempts. He would never have thought of "fake ID/HIV" had it not been for having heard Role Model.
Just kill yourself, please.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
First of all dawg, get a life and stop taking this shit so seriously. Were talking about two people whom neither one of us even know. If you don't even know Eminem, then why are you getting so offensive. You don't know the guy, so take a strangers dick out of your mouth you fucking loser. Your actually trying to argue that Nas bit off of Eminem because the rhymed the same words togther. Once again, the line Nas spat had no relevance to what Em said. It was something completely different.
SageofSorrow 3 years ago
How the hell did Nas bite off of Eminem because he said "Some be in the club with fake ID, careful for you meet a man with HIV". How did he bite off of Em for rhyming the same words. Do you know how many words there are in the English language, and you think just because Nas chose the same words to rhyme he bit off of Em. Dawg, you sound like a fucking jackass. Shut your stupid ass up and get off Eminems dick. "you're a fucking nitwit"- LOL! Damn your a loser.
SageofSorrow 3 years ago
You're an idiot--I'm "getting offensive" because I think morons like you deserve to die. Eminem and Nas are the only two to use that rhyme scheme in a song...and Eminem did it in a song before Nas...a song that had a fucking video made for it. I don't think it's a big deal...but while we're on the subject of who bites who, I think it's something worthy of bringing up.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
Nas cant match syllables well coz him and em use one rhyme???
poorkiwi 3 years ago
Nastradumas, astrologic, 'know when I rep'
'Flow when I'm set', got the chips to a 'lotus my whip'
'Gold on my neck' was once a 'code of respect'
For high 'rollers and vets'
Now its 'loads of baguettes', prefer a mack-10 'over a tech'
No matter 'sober or wet', I smack 'soldiers, cadets'
Trees that might eject my hype back
Nas aint good with Syllables??? Hes definately much more poetic than Em, but Ems still one of my favourite rhymers
poorkiwi 3 years ago
What do you mean by "poetic?"
For an example of him not being good with syllables, look at "One Mic."
"Bus stop glass bursts, a (fiend-drops-his-Heineken) (6)
Ricochetin' bet(ween-the-spots-that-I'm-hidin-in) (8)"
There are numerous other examples of him having to force it.
"My first album had no famous guest appearances
The outcome? I'm crowed the best lyricist"
Eminem, biting that rhyme theme, fixed it up in Nail in the Coffin (guest appearances/get the clearances)
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
what kind of whack emcee are you posing as that you think that's not good?
rudebuddha5 3 years ago
Poetic difference:
Living it up, not giving a fuck/
Gimme your keys, Im drunk and Ive never driven a truck/
The glimmers of hope provoke those without dollars to dream/
Through your existence become wealthy knowledge is king/
give me something by Eminem where the use of words control the expression more than the fact he talks about how crazy he is. Eminems rhymes are based more on the fact he strings some of the wierdest things together. He hardly ever expands his overall vocab.
poorkiwi 3 years ago
Uh...not quite sure what you're trying to say (considering Eminem has as many concept songs as anyone), but Rock Bottom, If I Had, It's OK, Never 2 Far, Brain Damage, Sing For the Moment, Lose Yourself, Fuckin' Backstabber, Backstabber, Stimulate, Don't Approach Me, Stan, My Fault...I know I'm forgetting some others.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
Also:
You're just distorting reality with a slanted view on it. That would be like me going:
Nas: And the stuff that I write/Is even tougher than dikes
Eminem: Entertainment is changin, intertwinin with gangstas/In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
you can call it spraying random, but Nas' older tracks had a much less 'random' structure (One Love and such) so if you think all of a sudden Nas just lost how to keep a structure together, you must be stupid. Have you ever thought that maybe Nas write the way he does because its way he wants to rhyme?
Eminem also makes words that dont even rhyme and rhymes them together. His verses on Renegade are some of my favourites but he tried 5 syllble lines 4 the whole 1st verse n sum only just rhyme
poorkiwi 3 years ago
How dumb are you? Every song writer in history rhymes words that don't really rhyme. TRUE "rhymes" are basic things like true/blue/you/do. None of the things in your Nas example technically rhyme, either. If you want to look at who STRETCHES more, Nas does it more than anyone...other than maybe Canibus. Eminem in his prime came the closest of any multisyllabic rapper to rhyming things that technically rhymed. Nas couldn't write a song like "Rock Bottom" to save his life.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
True, words dont really rhyme, not always but how did Eminem come up with rhyming 'America' with 'Embarrased'. He tried rhyming 'Stuck' with 'Good' in Fack in his shitty period.
Eminem in his prime aint the closest, no way!!! Maybe you should check a rapper by the name of Percee P, the song Put It On The Line. Eminem hasnt put anything down that detailed ever.
I dont believe Nas has made a track like Rock Bottom but that dont mean he cant or that hes not as skilled as Eminem.
poorkiwi 3 years ago
actually Im not sure if you have actually heard the Lost Tapes, have you?
poorkiwi 3 years ago
do you think EMinem could write a song like Doo Rags? Give me a song by Eminem that shows that kinda detail of a subject or subjects.
Yo,(hoes-in-my-focus-slow-me), (roll-with the-brokest-homies)
(Cold-and-we-hopeless-lonelies), (scolding-my-foes-who-phony)
-Nas-My Way
poorkiwi 3 years ago
"It's OK"
Goin for broke, gamblin and playin for keeps
Every day in the streets, scramblin and payin for cheap
Prayin for sleep
Dreaming with a watering mouth
Wishing for a better life for my daughter and spouse
In this slaughtering house caught up in bouts with the root of all evil
I heard it turn beautiful people crude and deceitful and make them do shit illegal...
ETC.
"Just Don't Give a Fuck" was one of those emceeing rambling songs...like "It Ain't Hard to Tell" was for Nas.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
That should say "I SEEN it turn beautiful people crude and deceitful..."
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
Sorry, I meant "Still Don't Give a Fuck"...though Just Don't Give a Fuck falls into that same category, obviously.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
SageofSorrow 3 years ago
He has yet to make a song with as much emotion as "One Mic". Hes a good storyteller, but has yet to tell a story with as much detail as "I Gave You Power"(breaking down the body parts of the gun), "Undying Love" or "Fetus". Hes yet to do a brain fuck like "Understanding"(a track that could have inspired Lupes "Dumb It Down").
Also Em in his prime got his original flow and sytle from AZ and Nas. Giving nods to his intellegence, and his "cerebral". This was made popular by AZ and Nas.
SageofSorrow 3 years ago
Well, "One Mic" is one of those kinds of songs that only comes around once in a career...what makes that song special is the way he delivers it (and the production). I will say Nas is probably the most creative rapper.
As for the flow, I'd say Eminem's flow in his Infinite days was Nas/AZ like...but by the time the Slim Shady LP came around, he had morphed into something quite a bit different.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
I don't know why you say he can't fuck with AZ in the multi capacity (I think maybe I should use the term "multiple word" since technically just rhyming a two syllable word with another two syllable word is "multisyllabic"). As I was telling poorkiwi, you're not gonna find someone definitively BETTER than Eminem in the multi area...just some guys who can give him a run for his money. Personally, I think Copywrite comes the closest. Little Vic is pretty good, too.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
and eminem could not make a song like I gave you power or rewind to save him and his daughter's life.
tenderloin360 3 years ago
Why would he want to? Creative ideas, yes (so was "Stan," though, so I'm not even sure I agree with the premise of your statement)...neither one particularly strong lyrically.
EmceeNolan 3 years ago
Nas isn't strong lyrically? Nas has been a lyrical MONSTER since Illmatic!

argenis49 3 years ago
^LOL! Dawg, please tell me your joking. If not, I think your trying alittle too hard to piece lines together. Those lines don't even relate in the slightest, and Nas wasn't even speaking about himself. Fission Mailed!!!!!!

Biten Eminem lines:
"we need bullets hurry up,run !" in "Bad guys always die" - Slick Rick
Almost whole first verse in "Can-i-bitch" (reference to slick rick's "children story" there are very similar lyrics but Em changes them a little)Also first lines in "Quitter" are very similiar to lines from "LaDidadi" but they are modified. Em is a big fan of Rick therefore he uses his lines in his own tracks. But I forgot. Very few fans these days know who Slick Rick is. Find other reasons to hate Hov.

ok look hip-hop is everywhere #1 eastcoast west coast mid-west and south but most of the dudes u named aren't hip-hop(especially lil wayne) ludacris and outkast yeah but da rest naw
southern MC's are these people:
Luda,outkast,Scarface,Z-Ro,K-Rino,UGK,devin the dude,8 ball and MJG they are MC's dat keep hip-hop alive in da south...not really this mainstream shit

u don't c him stealing T-Pains voice box and use n it like wayne so i disagree with that statement and every time i listen 2 some underground music in da city or a underground station on radio i hear luda tracks like i hear canibus tracks and necro tracks etc.
