i once belived this.... until i met a guy that was geeky as fuck, and he won, i a week, 3 times what i won on a month, and not just that, his girlfriend made megan fox look like snooki with no skin....
The geek stereotype of being a slacker and living in your parent's basement is getting as old as Star Wars the original trilogy. Also, when did the first step in a relationship be to get an engagement ring? Weird.
@TheHawkdaddy Stereotypes do suck. Yet, reading comics is different from reading books. If a guy told me "I love to read!" and he meant graphic novels, I'm not going to think of him as the same way I think of a guy that says that and means long, prolific works of classic literature. An ideal male will, of course, enjoy both. <3 Comic book fans are still in a subculture. It's a LARGER subculture, now (thanks to things like Big Bang Theory, I suppose) but it's still not a majority.
Awesome ad, demonstrating great creativity and attitude. If my comic book series ever gets rebooted and I find myself in the market again, I'll remember these guys.
None of the hardcore geeks I know are lazy or live at home with their parents. They all make great money and live in their own places. The propagation of this stereotype bothers me. Other than that, though, a sweet commercial.
@Stingshot1 what are you on about? I was implying red lantern is better than Green Lantern. I have insulted a fictional character I think is stupid. Don't tell me to shut the fuck up for expressing my opinion, no one's been offended except Hal Jordan. Also this is a youtube video so I don't feel like arguing over the comments on whatever you're talking about.
@S0urCrunch I loved the comic that looked at Dex-Starr's back story, if the Red Lantern comic has him track down the guys who killed his owner I will definetly start reading it.
i don't really get the point...is it an ad for Jewellery ? are they trying to cash in on our innocent love for comics? Nonsense.
im sure she didn't understand what she was saying. besides, no matter how much a girl knows about my favourite character, if she was fat and ugly no one would look at her.
@Jalanko13 are you for some reason saying that comic book nerds have no need for wedding rings? im pretty sure theyre people like everyone else and most of them get married. why not market to them?
Why'd they bring Hal back???? As soon as those words left her mouth, I would've killed her where she stood. Wouldn't have thought about it. Would've just been instinct.
the guy is like *Poker Face

Yah! A geek-love ad where the guy gets a beautiful, normal looking geek girl instead of... I dunno... Megan flippin' Fox.

Reading comics is no different than reading books, that stereotype that big band theory presents is dead and needs to go away
