  • Thanks for teaching me this....man the books just suck when you are trying to learn. I am making barbie clothes for my daughter....and they are turning out great....thanks to YouTube lol!!!

  • I feel stupid for asking but what would increasing be useful for?

  • @meandmyselfandi2 Increasing would be good for shaping an outfit. Or with your gauge needs to change for a certain pattern.

  • You must increase if your knitwork must become wider, for instance when knitting a sweater, your bottom part (the band) is usually smaller than the rest of the sweater. Or if you're knitting the arms and you started with the end of the arms, you must increase when working towards the shoulder

  • @LeatherBiker040 Exactly.

  • @meandmyselfandi2 your stupid if you don't ask :) because you'll never know

  • What would this be useful for?

  • I really like the last increase technique and works well for the project I am working on. I think the first technique is ok if you are working with a thicker yarn, but it was definitely showing holes in mine. Thanks!

  • Whenever I try to knit in the front/back of a stich, my next row will have a hole What am I doing wrong?

  • @gambrell104 Well, you should check where the yarn (from the ball) is when you get ready to knit in the front and back. It could be in the front of your work which will make a yarn over, resulting in a hole. You could also be knitting in the front and back of the same side of the loop, causing a hole. There is probably a million reason why there is a hole. I hoped one of those helped. Mainly just try it a lot of times and keep an eye on what you're doing, to see what's happening. Hope that helps

  • @gambrell104 mine too- it has to do with maintaining proper tension
