It seems this game is more about composing than playing music. It's impossible for the game to teach you how to play an instrument with the controllers it has and just using reflexes to hit buttons at the right moment isn't that interesting. Wii Music lets you change pitch, volume, verbratto and speed of each instrument you choose to use. That's composing. Pretty facking awesome if you ask me. I'm hoping Santa brings me a copy.
did it ever come to your mind that it is really fucking hard to make this stuff? and for all you Wii haters out there, I'd like to see you come up with a better idea.
If I want to have fun making music, I'll buy an instrument. If I want to pretend to be a Rock Star, I'll play a band that tells me how awesome I am in subtle and grandiose ways; Rock Band or a Guitar Hero.
Right, because gaming was so active before? What's more active, a game actively getting you to move and do press ups, peaking your interest in music and allowing you to experiment (especially if you don't have the time or inclination, which most people never will, so it's utter bs thinking this harms anyones motivation), or pressing buttons in entirely pre-defined patterns, needing barely any timing or active involvement other that than what the screen barks at you?

Why is Nintendo wasting their time making this when they could be making a new Mario or Zelda? I think Fischer Price has this market locked up already.

Maybe you guys weren't really paying attention at E3 but this is just the exact same mechanics. I got it then, I get it now, and it's still something I could only see very young kids enjoying. It's taking tiny, and in often cases, arbitary and imagined input - like holding the wiimote to your mouth, which isn't necessary - and using that to make small changes to the music that seem to make it just sound worse. It's really patronising to see adults pretending to think this is exciting.
After seeing this, I definitely see what Miyamoto had in mind when he thought of this game. This will be popular when it comes out for reasons that many gamers don't understand yet. Hopefully the song choice is done well without too many public domain songs.
Nice

He's actually really good at it.
Great game, only would have liked a little competitive part, just a little bit as it has next to zero in it.

... music teachers worldwide will be on suicide watch the moment a student says they "learned to play" based on this junk.

You set yourself up for it by being incredibly rude and trolling this video and Wii owners. If you can't take it, don't give it. ;)

Why the fuck do you have to put it to your mouth? That's the stupidest shit I've ever seen in my fucking life.
HOLY FUCK!
Lolitics 3 years ago
Obviously you don't have to put it to your mouth but it's part of the simulation and helps to make it more immersive.

So you can influence the instruments more than just mashing buttons? Nice.

If only they had vox, or a scoring system!
YesIwatchthis 3 years ago
What's a vox?
And I don't need a scoring system, I just want to mess with and make music with the instruments.
SobmicSSBB 3 years ago 3
Yeah why would you need scoring? This isn't supposed to be a score attack game like guitar hero. This is a music making game.

Find a real instrument then.
The Wii was designed to get people off their asses and become active, but really it's turning the world into a lazy fuck.
Exercise? Stand on a fucking board in a living room and roll your hips.
Music? Waggle and press buttons instead of going out and taking Piano Lessons or Guitar Lessons with a real fucking instrument.
Sports? etc.
Lolitics 3 years ago
Except the exercises on the board won't bring you much if you don't do additional exercises aside from it.

Scoring system to validate that you don't indeed suck? why? why not just have fun playing music?
JoeandOlly 3 years ago
No offense d00ds but I think he means scoring system as in the ability to write musical scores aka sheet music - the ability to write your own music.
As far as I can tell there is no such feature in this game but if there is - even in a limited capacity like Mario Paint - I will be there day one!!
uremifasolasiutut 3 years ago
I used to play that back in the day. It was really fun and would have ben a nice feature to include in this.

They're already making a new zelda. Of course you wouldn't know that because you're dumb.
