I find it rather surprising and not surprising that the composer for Kingdom Hearts also composed the Mario and Luigi music too! Surpriseng because their style is vastly different even with the same composer, not surprised because both have a spectacular soundtrack! :D

The Bros. are on a mad chase where they must collect all 7 Glitter Jewels before the bad guys do. The final boss is "Black Bowser" which is basicly Dark Bowser with Cackletta's robe and magic, and Fawful's funny lines. Not to mention the return of the Koopalings. For the first time ever, they would have dialog!

I'd say Bowser's Inside Story trumped it.

It had better writing, more beautiful artwork (seriously, the pixel art in that game is STUNNING), catchier music and far more varied and interesting gameplay when compared with the first two.

@Sposchy Bowser's Inside Story did have beautiful writing and music, but for me PiT is just more memorable. BiS had varied gameplay, all of which was cool and different, but PiT had characters and levels that I'll remember for a long time. BiS...I remember the train was annoying, Chippy was annoying, but it was a fun game. I also think BiS went over the top with minigames, but it had more variety in the special attacks. Both games were great and I recommend them to anyone.

@sinancothebest Superstar Saga was the best because the level/overworld (or whatever you want to call it)layout was the least linear and for various other reasons. Bowser's Inside Story would have to be my second favorite because it kind of went back to the formula the original used. Also, while I enjoyed Fawful being the main villain, I knew what that must mean would happen to him at the end, so I was kind of regretting that the entire time.

The true first boss i believe were the Hammer Bros at the factory entrance after you get inside. They had 100 HP each and it took me forever to defeat them without special attacks.

The battles in this game are very long but I like that. Makes them epic. Part of my complaints with the third game in the M&L series was how easy and short the bosses were. The only bosses that were hard for me were the Giant Bowser battles. I actually beat the final form of Fawful with ease by using the Falling Star move on him for about 4 rounds after knocking him down unlike Elder Princess Shroob which takes a lot more attacks to defeat (6,000 hp total for both forms).
