  • lmaooooo damn denzel.

  • Love the early 80's synth music in this movie. Reminds me of Culture Club.

  • Can somebody please tell me where can i download this movie??? Or even watch it online??? Can't find it anywhere! Thank you!!!

  • @teo92s I you want, I can upload it on youtube...

  • Great movie!

  • The youth fun days of Alonzo Harris

  • He was younger ... he was 26. He's 56 now...do the math.

  • Even though he was about 30 years old on here playing a teenager... He STILL looked good AND young! :-D Matter of fact, he still looks good now! :-D

  • Man I saw this a few years back, I was maybe 16, and I didn't really pay attention to the racism, what I really liked was the whole back story, and watching how they interacted with each other and their environment.

  • this the most racist crap I have ever seen.

  • where is de movie with sub spanish??? plzz send me link

  • INTRODUCING Denzel Washington

  • the trailer music was priceless!

  • thank God no one remembers this because it was a disaster

  • Saint Elsewhere, and Glory is what made him a star.

  • This is Denzel first movie, but didn't top the box office. What made Denzel a star was Saint Elsewhere, and Glory.

  • lhttonwork - this is Denzel first film, but didn't give much credit at the box office. What made Denzel a star was him in Saint Elsewhere, and Glory.

  • Please, someone, put this up. Please.

  • hi Denzel washington i am diljit singh from new delhi i m your big fan i watching your all films and my fovrite films (virtuosity) (unstoppable) (the book of eli) (the taking of pelham 123) (the bone collector)

  • @26DeislerFCB he's 57,what do u expect?

  • HA! its Jack from Just Shoot Me! lol

  • some one PLEASE tell me the ending i was watching it and i had to leavee whats happends afte he say after i find yo a job well go our sepret ways does he really leave him

  • @ugotwasted212 No Walter quits his job, finds out his son is a genius and is starting his freshman year at Northwestern. Walter catches up with him, they both ride off into the sunset on their way to Evanston.

  • im a 90s baby but ilove watchin movies like dis...dis movie was awsome

  • to all who say It's racist movie, you are too stupid to see it's not a racist movie! The opposite.

  • anddd introducing denzeel washington

  • wow denzel has not aged!

  • Classic

  • maybe it was funny back then but for me isn't funny at all, just shows how racist ppl can fuck your life if you make the right decision, I did not find the comic side of the movie (exept for the part when walter find an apartment and a job lol) but in general the movie pissed me!

  • @zlazher The point to the movies racist tone is to show how ignorant racism is. That was obviously lost on you.

  • @zlazher Yea. This shit was so racist. lol

  • I always loved watching this movie. Can you upload the whole thing?

  • When he was very young he was at a barber shop with his mother and an old lady asked his mother to write his full name down. When his mother asked why she said "Because he's going to entertain millions one day". His mother gave the old lady his name and it wasn't until later that they found out she was rumored to be some kind of local fortune teller.

    Or the story goes...

  • This movie is funny but it shows how racist people can be especially those who are white and upper class not saying they all are. When is having sex with a black person committing a sin.

  • I love this movie and I love the credit song to by bill conti - im gonna get closer to you

  • LOL....what's REALLY funny is how accurate the wife's reaction to the prospect (now known as the reality) of God being black. "You will burn in hell!" She exclaims to her husband at the mention of the truth. LOL! Now THAT'S rich! Kudos to the writer!

  • haha hilarious to see denzel like that

  • I love how he introduces Denzuhl. lol. great pronunciation

  • i saw this on tv once. sooo funny, sooo great.

  • george segal is great, even when he starred in the movie ROLLERCOASTER

  • This is the best freakin movie of alltime.

  • You gotta love these early 80s, fluffy, escapist, no-brain-required comedies.

  • Best line: "My son is Black, I'm Jewish, and my lawyer smokes spot. Dont' tell me I'm not in trouble!".

  • @Forsure3333 *pot

  • @Forsure3333 I 100% agree lol

  • Classic "Why are you doing this to me God?" I love this movie great message and very funny

  • This movie's message was the opposite of racism. Roger Porter plays on Walter Whitney's prejudices by giving him exactly what he would expect to see in his out-of-wedlock, bi-racial son, and Walter never questions any of it. That line about picking the lock was a line of bull, but Walter had no trouble believing it. Roger: "You looked at me, and you saw black." Turns out his son is a pre-med student, and despite being poor, he won't need Walter's life or his money. It was NEVER about that.

  • i saw some of this about a week ago. i didnt know it was Denzel though. i'd have watched more o fit

  • this trailer is hysterical

  • damn...the lox and bagels didn't do shit for thier game on the court....they stunk it up pretty good!!!

  • I saw this on television about 2 years ago. Although it didn't strike me as a blockbuster, it was interesting.

I was born about a year before the release of this film, and I was shocked to learn that Denzel had been acting even before this film. Damn, he's definitely a veteran.

  • i was born about 6 years after this film came out its kind of wierd for me to see one as my fav actors back then which is about the same age i am now you know what i mena?

  • Man.. the theme music to this is so hard to find online....

  • "INTRODUCING Denzel Washington" wow...this is OOOOOOLD

  • Denzels first Movie !!!

    God bless Denzel !

  • I noticed the cyclist had a helmet on; wouldn't have thought they would have been that "aware" in '81. Interesting.

  • Comment removed

  • @EtherealVortex

At least in the USA, non-racing cyclists have been wearing helmets since at least the early 70's. Considering from '72-'74, more bicycles were sold than automobiles in the States, it's not really all that surprising that there'd be corresponding safety education.

  • PEOPLE WILL WATCH ANYTHING. SHEESH

  • "i"ll teach you to pick a lock" Wow.........i guess where he's at now makes up for this movie.

  • ya gotta start somewhere! it not like he could become a huge star overnight! loL!

  • 80s films are ace comedies anyways lol well and some action

  • Yes it's a little cringe worthy now but it was funny at the time. I laughed loads when I was a kid.

Denzel shouldn't be ashamed, it's the movie that got him noticed and it was basically just a sign of the times.

Anyway the irony in the end of the film made up for the stereotypes at the beginning.

  • Me too I mustve been 3 when I saw this on tv. Loved the intro music. Turns out that it's from the same guy who did the Rocky theme song!

  • Yep, Bill Conti. Who also did the music for James Bond's "For Your Eyes Only", which in my opinon, had the best music in the series.

  • The early 80s synth music on this movie reminds me of Culture Club.

  • This movie was the bomb when I was a kid. It gets ragged on a lot, but it's a funny little movie. I heard that Denzel is ashamed of it, which is a shame, everyone has to start somewhere. Lighten up, Denzel.

  • it is just a brilliant movie, it's about some great laugs and thinking out of the box! this is a message and i doubt i interpret to much into this! colour, gender, religion does not matter, it's about the being, the human being itself! we are all the same!

  • ahhhhhhhhhh...look how cute Denzel looks

  • dam, alot of people dont know about this film. Bloody classic

  • This movie! LOL!!! I was like 6 when this came out! Wow it seems so much more racist now! " Why are we walking next to the Ocean?" " In case I decide to throw myself in"

  • I remember going to see this at the theater when it first opened, amazing how Denzel still looks the same.

  • damn ur right, dezel doesnt age. h looks the same over 25 yrs later!!!

  • This was Denzel's first. He was YOUNG!

  • best line: in reference to his car- Denzel says "cost me $14 and a record player"

  • 1981, yes stereotypes, but Denzel Washington was great! I loved this movie.

  • so did the actors get payed?

  • Racist is racist, no matter WHEN it was written. This was a dumb, bigoted B movie....

  • this movie sucked. denzel did not shine through on this film at all I would say go see it though to see how far denzel has come

  • Still love this movie!

  • lol I remember this when I was a kid. I still love that funny theme music @ the beginning of the movie

  • This movie had it's moments, but I think it missed the mark. It was trying to be something more, but ended up being less. Racism is a delicate and complicated subject, and it's very easy to mess up a movie about it. Roger Porter is supposed to be doing a caricature of a caricature, but too much time is dedicated to this, and the point ends up getting lost. It's unfortunate. With smarter editing and writing, I think the movie could've been brilliant, but it isn't.

  • you're right, why not a remake, aye?

  • Maybe it was supposed to be a parody...but the ONLY reason to watch the movie is for Denzel. He is so likeable in this movie. I saw the movie before Denzel was even a household name. OH and the song at the end of the movie by England Dan Seals is pretty good.

  • This movie was so filled with negative stereotypes. When it first came out people booed it for its racist attitude. "Show me how to fly a kite, I'll show you how to pick a lock".

  • Yeah it IS filled with negative stereotypes but remember...it's comedy and alot of times that's what comedy is about...stereotypes. So don't take it to heart; I didn't. It's not too negative...it's funny as hell. I like it although I would change some of the stereotypical dialogue if I had my way.

  • exactly :) me too :)

  • i didnt take it to heart either.

  • Denzel looks the SAME! Wow! I remember when this came out. It's a funny movie still.

  • This is a funny movie. Denzel had skills even back then.

  • He doesn't look very different

  • this was the first film of denzel? well, anyone has to start somewhere....

  • this wasnt the first film of denzel...he did some before this one.

  • Wrong lhuttonwork, this is Denzel first film debut. He's done tv before that yes. Btw, Denzel has still got the same good looks after 27 years, damn. Many people thought it was very racist but not then actually.
