@knotasidechannel :D I've developed a new appreciation for heavily clouded skies lately -- it's possible to catch the details in the clouds and the splashy colours at the same time. My camera seems to enhance the yellows and golds somehow, not that i'm complaining. Haven't had many pink/red skies to record this year.
Actually, Cockburn is a good lyricist. But he also knows when to let the instruments do the talking. ;-)
@moonlitme Thanks! I've seen him twice in concert, and both times the sound was incredible. It filled the hall, practically made the seats vibrate, but didn't seem too loud because everything -- vocals, guitar, bass, drums -- was in such perfect balance.
@grosenberg45 Thanks -- I'm glad to know you're smiling!
Maybe I should pick up some more Bruce Cockburn music. His songs have lots of complex instrumental breaks like this one that would come in handy for videos.
@HypnosReveur Okay, you caught me. I do have a balloon. But the clouds here are heading northeast. I might have gotten to your show if it had been in Quebec City...
And, that opening shot was recorded at about 6 pm. :)
@HypnosReveur Yeah, I know... I was hoping that line of reasoning wouldn't occur to you. Sorry for underestimating your logic skills. I shouldn't be so smug...
woow.. I think you're a master of recording the clouds :) this looks so magical and relaxing ^_^.. keep up the good work ;D thumbs up of course :D I admire the way how you catch the clouds and record them like this ;P good job Philip!
My "secret" is to record a lot of sky footage, and then to delete all the stuff that doesn't look interesting to me. Next I speed up the rest and slap on some music. xD

@seaottersoup very nice video...beautiful. i agree cockburn IS a lyrical genius whose writing is matched only by his virtuoso guitar work.

It looks like you've found all the right exposure settings for bright clouds. Lovely colors.
You must stop making me buy new music, though. ;-)
maniacalmike 1 year ago
@maniacalmike Well, it's getting easier to look at the sky and decide what setting to use.
And I know what you mean about new music. I hate Austin City Limits for that. xD

I'm at a loss for words this time , beautifull , and I'm loving Cockburn here..and through the clouds, I'm very much feeling this !

@5jeanbittersweet Words aren't necessary -- just lie back and float. :)

Thanks for the vision...

It really looks like you were filming in the clouds. Nice peach colors near the end. And the music is a good fit again. :)

@AnnaHeartsTheWorld It was all recorded out a window. I used zoom on several clips.
Peach -- Yeah, I guess that's a good colour description here. Should I change my tags? :)
seaottersoup 1 year ago
@seaottersoup Definitely. Peach will gain you all kinds of views from quality viewers. ;-)

@AnnaHeartsTheWorld Oh well then... quality viewers... I want those. But will they drive away the riffraff who normally watch my stuff? :-s
seaottersoup 1 year ago
@seaottersoup If only... But I think you need to use bleach on riffraff. ;)

@AnnaHeartsTheWorld HEY!! I cherish my riffraff.

well i'm twice as mad now..
cause it's obvious - watching this - that you own a hot air balloon..
so you COULD have made the show night before last!
seriously... the whole opening was like flying north at dawn! beautiful!

@seaottersoup well SURE.. 6pm on THAT side of the planet ..
