This Video brings back memories when I used to work at the Titan 2 Miissile silos as a Missile Maintenance Technician,I was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Foce Base in Tucson,Az. from 1979 thru 1983 and Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas from 1983 thru 1985.
These things were build like underground Tanks HUGE sad shame though if the Pentagon had not spent all that Money and time on weapons like this and on Getting bases on the MOON this world may be completely different now...plus all we had to do is set up a base on MOON and tell Soviets; one missle and we will direct an asteroid big as a batle ship towards MOSCOW...just look at Berringer Crater ...wanna F with us????

0 of these W-53 hell even MK-41 launched at Asteroid would have no effect..WHY??? C'mon Atomic Scientists???Holleywood ie Armegeddon could never happen Why???
I pulled over 250 "alerts" in these silos. This was great duty but called for lots of responsibility and a cool hand. I took my wife to Tucson to tour the museum, just to show her what it was like. These missile complexes were huge engineering projects, back in the early 60's. I will never forget my time on crew.
These missles were the spearhead of the US deterent force during their day in a time when the whole world had gone nuts. A terrible thing to have to maintain in a nation's inventory but at the time, it assured no one was in a hurry to launch nuclear offensive.
@LeonardRockstein World was not nuts just the SCUM that ran it just like now, difference is what I am doing right now; literally, I mean literally we can mass communicate in micro seconds and if the CFR or the demons who run it get thier way they want to stop it out of FEAR and POWER. I hope the hell some Aliens are reading this shit in outer space and save us ..set us free from same CREEPS running the world soon..like movie with Tom Cruise; "War of the Worlds" ..pray just pray!
This was great to see. From Topside to Main Hatch entry to the Blast Doors, Control Center, down the long cableway...Man many proud memories flooding back. To all who served silently and unwavering!!!! Thanks for taking me back!!
From these videos much of the Control Center was updated, especially the DMCCC turn key location which was orginally behind the tall cabinet to the next of the safe from the time I was a crew member with the 570th SMS at Davis Monthan during 1968-1970.
I believe you are referring to the old Launch Enable System. The system was replaced in 1974 because it was discovered it could be bypassed fairly easily.
It was replaced by the Coded Switch System (CSS) and the Butterfly Valve Lock (BVL) in 1974, and the DMCCC key was installed on the ALOC. There were plenty of other updates that were installed after your tour. If there was a change log of the modifications, it would probably be the size of a SAC-CEM binder.
The only real disappointment that I had with the tour was how eerily quiet everything was. I distinctly remember the constant noise of fans, pumps, air compressors etc. It just didn't "feel" right without the sounds.
Cheeseinvert and Monyax... you are a couple of uneducated, naive children who haven't a clue about anything. If that's not bad enough, it's obvious that you hate the country you live in. How would you react to a terrorist attack on our own soil? I can't wait to read your reply. I bet I know what it is even before you do.
Very good video on one of the last few remaining Titan II sites that did not get destroyed by SALT (the other three being the training sites at Vandenberg, which are now flooded or stripped of just about everything). The folks at the museum have done an excellent job keeping one of these forgotten heroes in good shape. Another good look at some of the 18 Titan II silos in Arizona.

Titan II,
Wonderful Nuclear deterent in its day, but now its obsolete. I think they should redeploy the peacekeeper.

You know, as I think about it, I guess I should have used those same sounds as some background to this video. But, it did not occur to me.

Who scares you more, Bush or Al Qaeda? Al Qaeda wants to dominate you, or kill you. Al Qaeda is the enemy.

Now, all the free world needs somebody to save us from Bush.
