Opera Mini FTW!! Skyfire is ok. I have it on my N82. It does do pretty much any flash you can throw at it. It's still beta though, so it's not the smoothest ride. Still very useful. I actually make use of Opera mini, Nokia browser, and skyfire. Overkill? Possibly, but each one has a main advantage, which is why I use all three.
Actually the web browser for S60 is a webkit browser so it displays web pages more or less exactly the same as the iphone. Add a touchscreen to the N95 and the browser difference melts away! Webkit is also the engine in Safari, Google Chrome et al. It's a fork of Konqueror's KHTML engine. There are many differences between the iPhone and the N95, but the way it renders web pages is not one of them.

the iphone doesn't have the best resolution screen it has a 320 x 480 resolution, the nokia 5800 has a 360 x 640 resolution, im not talking about a flash player im talking about full flash support for web pages, the iphone and the n95 doesn't have it but skyfire does and its a free download but only for s60 and windows mobile, apple would never allow a third party browser to be installed that's better than their own. s60 has been around alot longer than the iphone, it has hundreds more apps

I have an iPhone 8GB and my dad has a n95 8GB i compared them both with wi-fi (as thats the fastest speed for both) iPhone was very quick and N95 takes too long to load most pages and its not fun on its small screen and its always mobile version of web pages :/

as an owner of an ipod 3g AND a nokia n95 8g i can say n95 is much better. the iphone cant send mms,bluetooth,cant record vids,cant voice record. the list is huge.

I have had the n95 8GB for over 6 months, and I'm amazed at the amount of things you can do with it. Just look at OPDA, every application you may dream of, you'll find there. Just astonishing. For those who have iphones and say that we are cheap, compare the prices, I bought mine for $700 and it was a great deal at that time.

Well one can appreciate the N95 only if it's anything but her / his first smartphone. I used both for more than a month. The verdict is N95 is much more functional and fun to use than the iPhone which is more eyecandy. Trust me the 5MP camera, 3G speeds and the GPS apps like sportstracker etc are addictive. Hopefully future generation iphones would be able to provide more functionality as demanded from a veteran road warrior, and relieve her / him of a gps, camera, videocam, pda, maybe a laptop

i like the graphic environment of the iphone and the easy way of use the touchscreen with internet pages, menus, and all that.. in that aspect the iphone is better than any pocket pc, nokia smartphone, etc.. but the n95 have a lot of things better than the iphone like 3g, 5mpx camera, gps, etc..
Plus the iPhone has a powerful e-mail client, sms that tracks your messages and displays them like a chat program, and a visual voicemail application so you don't have to sit through all your viocemail.
All-in-all iPhone looks better both inside (apps) and out more fun to use and guaranteed to get more attention from your friends than the Nokia.
Look into the 2 phones yourself and make your own decisions. It's true that the iPhone doesn't have GPS, but it shits on the Nokia in every other aspects. Just flicking through the covers of your music is enough to take the focus of the Nokia.

The thing with Opera Mini is that you're not getting a direct connection to the web. It uses a proxy by Opera that trims down every piece of content and changes the layout to be more 'friendly' for small screens, also making it lighter and faster. Browsers like Opera Mobile, Safari and N95's don't do that.
Meh, I consider that +1 for Opera Mini. Just b/c its so fast. I've used Opera Mobile, Safari, and Pocket IE. Mini beats them all in speed and does a great job rendering.
Opera Mini does have one big advantage. It uses much less data than the iPhone and N95 browsers, thanks to that proxy server. Something to consider when one has to pay by the megabyte for mobile internet, or when one has than less than generous data allowance.
However if you're really going to use it intensively, you're always better off subscribing some kind of plan. Paying for small packages of kilobytes is just too expensive if you aren't careful...

-iPhone has Blutooth support only for its headset, lacking the posibility to transfer any files(that is completely BOGUS, I have the so called 'best phone' on the market and I can't even transfer a freeking file, which I can very well do with a 5 year old phone, "5 years in front of the competition" [Steve Jobs]... yeah right)
The fact that iPhone is not open for downloading and installing applications and customize your phone the way you want makes it the weaker of the two. However u have to go with the N95-8GB, not because of the 8GB harddrive but for the improved batterylife, double the RAM-memory and the bigger screen.
Now everything that was bad with the N95 is gone. They have made it super.

THE N95 Battery life is about as fast as the world record in the 100 meter dash. I could go on and on about how the N95 is worthless piece of CRAP!!!, yet my time is money!
The iPhone is all about design, interface, usability. It looks good, it's intuitive, it has a massive WOW factor. The N95 is functional, reliable, super-hitech, it does the business. I own a Nokia 6120 Classic, and it runs the same OS as the N95, and it supported MMS, MP3 ringtones/message tones, 3G from DAY ONE!!! No software updates needed either! You can install homebrew/Java/Symbian apps without having to gaolbreak the phone. And you can replace the battery too!
Any phone can only load a webpage as quick as it can render it. The iPhone is the quickest mobile device I've ever used when rendering websites. That's where people make the mistake saying the N95 is better because it has 3G. Have you seen an N95 load a full webpage? Even over WiFi its slow, just like my old N80. My iPhone loads a website quicker over GPRS/EDGE than my N80 could with WiFi, simply because the N80 couldn't render the page quick enough.

N95 huge as hell barely fits in a pocket, iPhone 3G very smooth with tapered edges to fit perfectly in your pocket.
N95 best sound on the market? iPhone 3G greatly improved speakers and microphone from the original.

i have had both only thing bad about N95 is its battery life. iphone is cool but has limited daily-usable features.
Overall N95 8gb is BETTER than iphone.
even N95 is better but again its battery life sucks.

Well one can appreciate the N95 only if it's anything but her / his first smartphone. I used both for more than a month. The verdict is N95 is much more functional and fun to use than the iPhone which is more eyecandy. Trust me the 5MP camera, 3G speeds and the GPS apps like sportstracker etc are addictive. Hopefully future generation iphones would be able to provide more functionality as demanded from a veteran road warrior, and relieve her / him of a gps, camera, videocam, pda, maybe a laptop

Funny how despite what this claims, the iPhone instantly became the number one mobile platform for browsing, only behind desktop operating systems - so I guess Symbian and Windows Mobile ~weren't~ able to do everything the iPhone can - specifically get people to actually use the web as much as they do on the iPhone.

In all those fields is where the N95 and the upcoming N96 will excel. If iPhone doesn't come out with a BETTER model, Apple will simply lose the market because of this. Nokia makes phones that are unrestrictive. Apple needs to forget the selfish business structure.

All this videos does is exploit the VERY few small details apple overlooked in the beginning! i like the graphic environment of the iphone and the easy way of use the touchscreen with internet pages, menus, and all that.. in that aspect the iphone is better than any pocket pc, nokia smartphone, etc.. but the n95 have a lot of things better than the iphone like 3g, 5mpx camera, gps, etc..

Plus the iPhone has a powerful e-mail client, sms that tracks your messages and displays them like a chat program, and a visual voicemail application so you don't have to sit through all your viocemail.
All-in-all iPhone looks better both inside (apps) and out more fun to use and guaranteed to get more attention from your friends than the Nokia.

The thing with Opera Mini is that you're not getting a direct connection to the web. It uses a proxy by Opera that trims down every piece of content and changes the layout to be more 'friendly' for small screens, also making it lighter and faster. Browsers like Opera Mobile, Safari and N95's don't do that.

Meh, I consider that +1 for Opera Mini. Just b/c its so fast. I've used Opera Mobile, Safari, and Pocket IE. Mini beats them all in speed and does a great job rendering.

Opera Mini does have one big advantage. It uses much less data than the iPhone and N95 browsers, thanks to that proxy server. Something to consider when one has to pay by the megabyte for mobile internet, or when one has than less than generous data allowance.

So, the iPhone can do the same thing the N95 does, which is be a mobile internet browser.
Only the difference is that because 3G sucks up so much battery power, the N95's processor is about as weak as Steve Jobs' justification as to why Apples outdated hardware lineup is worth twice the price of the equivalent Windows PC.
This puts both the N95 and iPhone on level pegging except for when Wifi is involved, then the iPhone is quite a long way better.

The fact that iPhone is not open for downloading and installing applications and customize your phone the way you want makes it the weaker of the two. However u have to go with the N95-8GB, not because of the 8GB harddrive but for the improved batterylife, double the RAM-memory and the bigger screen.
Now everything that was bad with the N95 is gone. They have made it super.

The iPhone is all about design, interface, usability. It looks good, it's intuitive, it has a massive WOW factor. The N95 is functional, reliable, super-hitech, it does the business. The two phones are both at the top of the tree but just play for different markets. The iPhone is for girls and skin-product using nancyboys, the N95 is for men.

I own a Nokia 6120 Classic, and it runs the same OS as the N95, and it supported MMS, MP3 ringtones/message tones, 3G from DAY ONE!!! No software updates needed either! You can install homebrew/Java/Symbian apps without having to gaolbreak the phone. And you can replace the battery too!
BTW Opera Mini kicks arse!

Any phone can only load a webpage as quick as it can render it. The iPhone is the quickest mobile device I've ever used when rendering websites. That's where people make the mistake saying the N95 is better because it has 3G. Have you seen an N95 load a full webpage? Even over WiFi its slow, just like my old N80. My iPhone loads a website quicker over GPRS/EDGE than my N80 could with WiFi, simply because the N80 couldn't render the page quick enough.

Even my crappy old LG TU500 (aka CU500) can run the full internet but with OPERA MINI!!!
