Dude don't be such a posser. Just enjoy the music for what it is. And besides I have five of their tapes and I still listen to them from time to time.
Yeah go ahead and laugh..."I STILL LISTEN TO TAPE" LOL!!!LOL!!!LOL!!!
Their earlier stuff is classified grunge...you may not like it but that's the way it is, but you are entitled to your opinion even though it is wrong.
Well maybe you're right. It all depends on what label you put on them. I wouldn't call Big Top Halloween grunge, but that's just me. People like their music, that's the most important part.
What do you think is their best album? You like the Twilight Singers too?
Absolutely, you would also think one of the best ever if you are the karaoke singer I know... you need a band dude. And they are the "rolling stones" of subpop.
Fuckin incredible band, album, song. I saw them in Columbia Missouri in 1994 and this video might have been shot at the Blue Note (awesome venue!), but the bass amp speaker had a sign that said THE DRUGS ARE SPEAKING FOR ME NOW SO LOVE ME MOTHERFUCKER! I don't see that in this vid so it might have been made at another club. I have been rocking this CD and some of their others for many years. Thank GOD for YouTube!
Get off that stuff she said And i'll stone you instead Unchain yourself said she And tie yourself to me I'm on the floor I play with knives You can call and ask your wife She's been over once or twice Likes to use me And i'm her slave But i don't need no chains I'll behave Give me more of what i've come to expect Wrap your love around my neck Understand me when i say You'll deny me
The Whigs during this era sounded like a force of nature. They were such an amazing band rythmicly. Dulli has the Keith Richards sense of timing. John Curley and Steve Earle are so freaking tight.
only non seattle band to sign on subpop

Those are your words, not mine. I listen to the Whigs too, but they're just not grunge, that's all.

In my opinion, one of the most under-rated bands ever. Greg Dhulli, you are a rocker and a great one at that.

Can anyone make out the lyrics for the bridge? They're not included in the liner notes, which sucks....
