Hey quick question, Which is the best opyics for the model 3? I heard the EoTech 517 has some play and moves which requires some modifications. Have you heard about that? If so what other optics would you suggest?
I have a model 3 and I want to get some flip up iron sights. The upper receiver rail and the gas block rail don't look the same height? Do you need to get a special mount for the front sight, to make them line up? Thanks for the help
@NordofWar They aren't the same height.The sight block rail is a little lower then the receiver rail, but it does work with the flip ups i have. A.R.M.S rear and samson front. No special mount needed.
@ketel1 Thanks for the help, by the way your stag looks sick. I'm thinking about going with an aimpoint comp ml3 instead of the eotech 512 on mine, both really good optics though. Who makes that fore-grip and is pretty sturdy, or not when the bipod is deployed? Thanks for all your help.

I do like the 1 MOA dot on the eotech better then the 2 or 4 MOA on the aimpoint. I tried the 4 MOA aimpoint ML3 and it left a bad taste in my mouth for aimpoints. It was the only one i ever tried. Another pro for the eotech is you dont need any mounts. Mount is built into the sight. Go with Aimpoint your looking at at aleast another 150 for a good Larue mount. The fore grip is a grip pod.
@ketel1 yeah these are all good points you raise, I was all ready thinking about the mount situation and the battery life. I was going to go with a Larue if I got an aimpoint. Now you have me seriously thinking about the eotech again. Is the red dot very visible when your outside in the sun light on the eotech? I've never used an eotech before just an aimpoint.
@NordofWar The only sight I have come across that is the most effective in sunlight/glare is the ACOG. The only problems i have ran into with the Eotech is when the sun is in your face or at night when you hit it with a weapon light(against a white wall, it tends to wash out. I have a quark 123 turbo on it. And in 230 lumen mode washes the red dot right out against a white wall. Seems 100 lumens is the threshold in that app.
Hey I'd like to get a good look at that muzzle brake, It looks like Stag or MSTN have a very similar design. That looks like my favorite design of muzzle brake/ suppressor
@155Millimeter Ill post a closer up vid of it maybe this week. Its a great brake by not so great if your on the bench next to me when i am shooting it. Side blast is killer if you know what i mean.

@155Millimeter I only have two gripes with the current BUIS that are on this rifle and it has to do with the rear. It is an A.R.M.S flip up rear. 1) it doesnt lock in the up position. (not really a problem because once its up its damn near impossible for it to lock in the down position by itself.) And 2) Its not a low profile. They came out with that model after i bought this. The muzzle brake is factory Stag.
Wow we have very similar AR's dude. I need to make a video like this showing all my mods. I sold my 512 to get the 516 that has the side buttons, cause I have the magnifier. I highly recommend the the G23 eotech magnifier. It brings that reticle to life. It makes it so clear.
The only thing that is bad about it, is that with both eotech and magnifier it's pretty bulky. Plus my rear flip up is to big to fit under the magnifier, but with the 516 I can raise it up 7mm., so I hope that is enough to now fit the rear sight. What did you say your front sight is? I just ordered the stag Model 3 gas block and need a front sight.

(not really a problem because once its up its damn near impossible for it to lock in the down position by itself.) And 2) Its not a low profile. They came out with that model after i bought this.
