  • We did the Scarlet Pimpernel at our Junior High last year it was amazing! We were the first Jr. High School to perform this play in the state of Utah!!! That was also the year that I fell in love with one of the main characters....

  • Robespierre "God of Liberty"? LOL... nope. The radical atheists put a Goddess of Liberty on a church altar... a whore who dished out favors where once Mass had been said. Robespierre hated atheists and guillotined several including Hebert (18th c Howard Stern). Robespierre instituted the "religion" of the Supreme Being (La Fete de L'Etre Supreme, June 1794). After that fewer citizens labeled him The Incorruptible; instead, a High Priest of tyranny and excentricity.

  • In reality Robespierre was guillotined facing upwards so he could see the blade,

The dirty power-mad murdering bastard deserved it!

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH What is your source to document that Robespierre was guillotined facing upwards? That would have violated execution protocol, which Sanson was strict about. The victim stood facing the bascule, was shoved up against it, tied to it, then slid under face down.

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH Robespierre wanted neither power, money nor fame. His morals were good (though rumor has it he may have fathered a son with a dumped mistress. The kid bore physical resemblance; served with Napoleon). Robespierre was fanatic about forcing a Republic of Virtue and could not brook opposition. The real power-mad criminal was St. Just. He was an ex-con who wasn't afraid to shoot people in cold blood or have them beaten up. The Incorruptible and the Ex-Con....

  • @mrhalwes Robespirre the incorruptible eh? That is funny as he was firmly against the deatth penalty and then as a means to get powr had many slaughtred tens of thousand- including his former colleague Danton., The blood thirsty tyrant wanted no DISSENT! i think you will find he was totally corrupted by power!

You cannot whitewash all that blood he caused by saying he had virtue. He was a power lusty ego maniac! In the end he was poncing around Paris as a God of Liberty! Cuckoo cuckoo!

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH Robespierre was called "L'Incorruptible" by his contemporaries because he couldn't be bribed (like Danton), and initially for his promotion of human rights (including freeing Black slaves in French colonies). Robespierre believed anyone who opposed his political ideals was a tyrant himself, and must be executed. I don't whitewash his excesses, but put them in perspective. The real Nazi was the firebrand radical, St. Just.

  • @mrhalwes Trivia about Robespierre: (1) His death-mask was made by Mme Tussaud, who had sat beside him at a dinner party. She recalled his cool politeness. (2) Robespierre family may not have been French. Possibly Irish immigrants who changed Robert Spiers to sound more French? Possibly Germans named Ruben + Stein (pierre in French = stein in German = stone in English).

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH What's your source to verify the face-up guillotining?

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH It is from many various witnesses at the time as recorded in official records at the time. Take le trip to Le Paris to search le records!

The French Revolution was is regarded as one of the most wicked chapters in man's history!

I see you have stopped defending Robespierre!

  • they use capital punishment against the people, its time for the shoe to be on the other foot. its a tool of fear to manipulate our thinking. freedom is coming.

  • Imagine that instead of French royalty its Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. =)

  • we need that usa incase people try to spare the guilty.

  • Great film -- but why is there no fake red blood coming out of the decapitated mannequins?

  • @mrhalwes Some dummy in the special effects departmemt forgot!

  • Did not know that I though He tried to Kill himself

    Thank you

  • @TL250Rider Some historians believe it was a suicide attempt. Others believe the testimony of the soldier Merda who bragged about shooting Robespierre (and got a promotion). The bullet entered Robespierre's left jaw, yet Robespierre was likely right-handed from his portraits holding things and writing style. Nobody places a gun at their lower jaw, that would not be fatal.

  • bring it back

  • The Guy with the bandage on his jaw I think is Robspieer

  • @TL250Rider Yes it is. I speak french so I saw theses two movies, excellent movies. They are awesome french movies.

  • @TL250Rider Robespierre was shot the previous night by a soldier arresting him. The wound was not treated properly.

  • dude at 3:35 gets his wig split!!

  • Christ on a cracker...

  • who is the guy executed first?

  • @lotuspoint

    St Just

  • @KerstinMonika stay away you joke!

  • this is just so fucked up its beautiful :")

  • youtube.com/watch?v=w7D_h5a4EEk

    Venus Project

    This is possible, right now.

  • Horror!

  • Danton and Robespierre enabled the concept of "liberty fraternity equality".

But the revolution ate its children.

After all democracy originated in the middle of the 5th-4th century BC - thats how long it took ppl to claim, which is rightfuly theirs.

    Lets not forget!

    Great upload!

  • Great video, I love it!

  • Savagery on the grand scale! The country still takes to the streets destroying property; what has changed since 1789?? FIVE republics!!!

  • What's all that stuff going on at 2:38?

  • @seandeaon One of the massacres in september. The people stormed prisons and inhumanley wiped out the occupants.

  • They all speak French in that movie, you know. :)

1:17 I love how Charles Henri Sanson (the tall chief executioner wearing the black fedora and jacket) gestures to Robespierre (blood stained shirt, jacket and face)! It's like Henri is saying "You're up" or "Your turn" >:)
