  • Soon electric cars will have the same style charging system. No plugs cords gas station hoses. Just power mat tech no hassel charging. Just park your car and charge it without wires. All walmarts and major stores will build there parking lots with this technology some day if they want green customers to shop there.

  • "all of these kitchen appliances have the receiver technology embedded inside them"

Now why don't our devices follow this rule so we don't have to manually connect a clunky receiver that we have to purchase separately to our devices?

  • you were rolling the whole time??? oh my god

  • Man stay black because you are so white just now. And you annoyed the hell outta the person you was interviewing

  • the ol' "didn't notice you were filming" shtick

  • Pensé que se iban a tardar más en comercializarlo. Este negro es un pendejo.

  • is it me or is she hot!!

  • Melissa TOTALLY thought that guy was annoying

  • Melissa is sporting some wild hair there.

Must be the wireless powered vibrator in her bedroom of the future.

  • most of today's tech was mostly develop to enrich the pockets of the few wealthy elite from the uninformed masses. wireless energy transfer was around since 1902. i guess because of this economic collapse, the elite have run out of money, and tech like PM is a way to raise more cash for themselves .....

  • @nykel007

Aboslutly . Nikola Tesla wanted to send power free through the air but that wouldn't have let as many people profit. I wish he would have said. lets send it thought the air once it enters the home. Then he might have gotten some cash from the greedy bastards that run the world. Nobody cares what you do with the power after you buy it thats why ideas are coming now. If he invented anything to send power like wifi it would have been locked in a vault till the world was ready.

  • a hundred year old tech...morons

  • sick. how much for the negro?

  • keep the receipt for the negro...seems to be defective (white on the inside)

  • i want the powermat bad

  • I think she wants to fuck him.

  • dude's on crack yo!

  • cool tech - but what a tool this guy is.

  • i don't know how some people don't realize that it is not completely wireless, that the mat itself would need to be plugged into an outlet source for it to work each of the devices.

  • Wow, cool video but terribly annoying reporter. Melissa shoulda done that one herself!

And you'd need a wireless outlet for so called legacy devices. If you're modifying your kitchen and removing outlets it's nice to have some backwards compatibility rather than having to outfit everything you plan on using in there.

Hopefully the prices on this will come down a bit by the time the housing markets recover :)

  • thank Mr. Tesla for creating this technology more than one hundred years ago, or more; power mat needs to at least mention thanks to Mr. Tesla this technology has been created and refined to become a reality!

  • crazy black guy

  • you know even though the costs are great as technology increases the prices will go down so you generally downt have to worry about that but i am just blown away about the fact that everything is wireless

  • 2:00 ummmm..... its called a battery

  • what is the point of a wireless outlet? does thast not defeat the purpose

  • saves space and messy wire stuff BUT there are always setbacks, pluss makes things more portable

  • agreed

    ...

  • backwards compatibility I guess you can call it. Not everything is wireless....YET! O_O

  • do not like the reporter

  • She doesn't like him either.

  • The home of the future looks bad ass and all but I'd say all that stuff is like almost $300 dollars for the chargers alone. The "mat" is $100 and specific cases for your phone are $40 each, I'm skeptical because of costs.

  • i see ur point. as for me tho thats not the problem im just scared someones gonna activate some sorta kill shit on the devices that will take over the world...jk...looks great tho xD

  • "your recording i dint know you were recording" then why the hell were you carrying a freaken microphone around you fag

  • roflcopter

  • prolly because he didnt know that they started recording yet..........

  • the reporter is such a faggot

  • seeeeeeeeeeexyyyyyyyyyy

  • nice way to get rid of wires

  • thats cool, finally an invention that is actually good!

  • ????? that is EPIC! it doesn't need a f***ing cord! it's the f***ing power of the future that f***ing charges stuff without f***ing power cords! emily dickinson should have had one of these!

  • wait.. this isn't japanese technology??? omg! if it isn't then it is magic!!!

  • As I know Powermat was create in Israel.

  • not accurate.

    Quote from PowerMat website:

"Powermat USA is a joint venture between Michigan-based HoMedics and Israel/New York-based PowerMat, Ltd. "

  • I promise all of you that pointing out the obvious of this not being "magic" or "plugged in somewhere" does not make you cool or smart. Ok Captain Obvious?? This is really really cool and if you dont think soo then leave. I just saw the commercial and was so intrigued that i had to look at the technology as a whole. This is incredible!!!!

  • this is pretty cool, but none of it is wireless, even though there is a reciever, it still has to connect to power anything.

  • Why can I see people saying this gives you cancer in a few months time?

  • Microwave radiation,it's the same with phones.

    Say byebye to your nuts.

  • Thats not true.

It only starts transferring current when it identifies the RFID chip on the product you are trying to power.

  • Its Magnetic Induction, not wireless power

  • no its not, i thought it was too but if you used induction, you would need sufficient friction of the surface to create magnetic friction which is necessary to make a current. 300 watts on a blended or the much smaller amount with a lightweight phone would start spinning out of control. other induction devices like my toothbrush has a coil in its base and a locking socket joint which the coil of the charging station inserts, but LOCKS.

  • i think its a combination of bluetooth and/or a magnetic card you wave in front of a thing at gas stations, to communicate when it should turn on/off charging and strength of the power source. to actually deliver the power i think it uses an antenna as thin as foil like hidden behind a phone's battery which you attach to the battery's + & -. the mats sends out a microwave which is tuned to that antenna's frequency but not other stuff. all types of receiver antennas are make currents wirelessly.

  • they probably needed to lease a spectrum of radio frequencies with theFCCchosen for efficiently transmitting alot to little amounts of wattage specifically to the special antenna made of materials that the efficiency of making a current in ie water, that it would be so little its safe and negligible.and also be engineered that even though the antenna receives alot of power, its efficient in that it doesnt make alot of thermal loss.either the waves are focused or max diameter distance between units

  • this just blows my mind

  • they have these at best buy

  • this is the most pointless idea ever

what is the purpose of a "wireless outlet"?

  • DUDE! are u dumb? how would u like to not have a electric bill? sorry to insult u but this is big, not having to rely on a really undepedable and dangerous power source, not worring when im out and theres a storm if my new tv is going to blow because of the storm, imagine sitting at a stop light in ur elec car and while u sit there it charges ur cars battery, power mat could be ur new outlet very soon.

  • um dude dont steal my elec car idea i just told u about that like 5 seconds ago, im not telling u anything else but true ppl are dude they dont get how this could be usefull, i could charge my phone in the car without using my cars battery, i dont know why ppl dont get this, its great i already ordered a few and there only $100

  • Bro, it's not like you have power anywhere. I hope you checked out that the first thing you have to do to get your mat working was to PLUG IT IN. This just works as a way to evade cables, not to have mobile power anywhere you go where there's no power outlets. This only works though magnetic inductions and transmissions, NOT magically. None of this is really wireless, it just makes everything a bit less messy.

  • dude i know its not magic dont insult me, i know theres ground wires u have to hook the main dock to, but im looking at futher possiblities of (wireless chargers)

  • What about grounding a cord? Wouldnd things shock you easily if they can't be grounded?

  • Comment removed

  • The great thing about wall outlets is that you can block them so kids can't use certain appliances/electronics.

It looks like all a child has to do with the "powermat" is put the device on it and they are good to go - I hope that blender has some kind of lock on it...

  • um dude more kids get electrocuted than blending there hand, its not like a kid is tall enough to get hold of a blender, all a kid has to do i lick there fingers that r already probably drenched in slober and touch a outlet, dont be afraid of it cus u dont get it lmao

  • so is anyone asking if there is a risk to our health?

love the idea of loosing all those wires, but not if I'm polluting my world...

  • What risk? The risk of no more outlets?

  • The host is a total tool.

  • Great idea. AWFUL HOST!! OMFG, I couldn't get thru the demo. What a jacka**!

  • this tech is being put into new build homes in norway theres no socket in the show home at all

  • this looks AMAZING! can't wait to get one for myself!

  • the energy transfered is 90% effecient. the kitchen that you see is just a prototype, it will get much better. Once the device turns on that means a connection is made, you cant loose energy if your slightly off.

  • Does anyone know what the transmission efficiency is like?

If you don't put anything in a spot's range, does it use electricity?

Also, how do you know when you're directy over the power coupling? Would you "loose energy" when you're off a bit?

  • sweet, you know how many wires I can eliminate on my desk with one of those?

  • all of em!

  • soooo cooooooooooool!!!

    i want one!!!

when is this shit going to be for sale on the market??? DO IT FAST PLIIZ XD

  • that is pretty amazing

  • mhhh elektromagnetische induktion denke ich mal,wie bei einem induktion herd

  • no way, thats deadly
