Percherons rule I have one like that but he white grey and he will let you do anything to him,you could hang of his neck if you wanted to, My little niece came oevr once and pulled some of his leg feathers he didnt even move he just bent his head down and lipped at her hair it was one of those kodak moments lol

@1400deadwood it was on QI the other day that before cars were invented there were actually huge environmental problems because of the sheer number of horses needed, there was just absolutely mountains of manure everywhere, and the noise was apparently unbearable. It's a fail-fail situation.

@rustedrainbow - I have seen TV shows & read about this b4 ~ evidently much of that manure was used as fertilizer for farms, parks, & gardens. I'm old enuff to remember when people routinely picked it up and used it for this purpose. Years ago when I was studying for law school, the first case I studied dealt with 2 people who went to local court in 1800s over a dispute as to who had the right to manure dropped by horses. Both wanted it for fertilizer. Thus, it served a public purpose! :)

@rustedrainbow - his viewpoint maybe well founded. This is likely what stimulated the creation of trolleys, elevated lines, & subways. In the big cities we should have more of these, in smaller towns, less so. Still it cannot be denied that society would benefit if we used horses more often.
