You misunderstand..It will cost 15 million JUST to tear it down with nothing to replace it. The amphitheater IS ALREADY THERE. The state is nt giving money to Rooneys and ANY new development needs to have a budget and subsidies when working on a renewal site. It costs LESS overall than tearing it down.
Plus, they're already planning to build an amphitheater on the north shore and station square. If you count the new arena, north shore, station square, and even star lake thats 5 different places for concerts.
I love the igloo, but i don't know how you can compare it to St. lou arch and the space needle. Those are tourist attractions and the igloo isn't unless there is an event. Plus, 10-15 million just to tear it down...how much more to redevolop it? Who pays? How much revenue could it possibly bring in?
