  • Originally, Lunar Lander was a completely text-based game. Never played it, but would be curious to see what it looked like.

  • I enjoyed playing this game so much...

  • Tremendous stuff, although that landing was a terrible effort. This is the first video game I ever played, and I actually landed it a few times. Remarkable that our NASA boys managed it first time, with untested technology, when one thinks about it!

  • You just made another crater on the moon LOL

  • where can i get source code for this game?

  • @TESLAKOKOT

It'd be very difficult. I have it on a cassette tape somewhere, but even with that, it would be difficult to reproduce. It's in PET-BASIC, and designed to work on an old Pet-2001 (built back in about 1979), running a 6502 8-bit processor.

By the look of the green screen, this was the full-size keyboard version, but still running an 'old-ROM' OS. Probably 16K internal memory. The originals were 8K or (more rarely) 4K.

  • Joo gots to shed your velocities d00d!

  • not exactly big blue, is it?

i remember commodore pets were the first computers i ever used. we had a computer class in fifth grade, this woulda been 78, 79, thereabouts, i think? i was afraid if i hit the wrong key the computer would explode.
