  • @bustn86 I'm not sure of the actual name but i do know of some devices that do that...It's a Rewinder that rewinds what Sergio wants to rewind...then he loops it on a Loop Station...lot's of Loop Stations can rewind...I own a complicated(emphasis on complicated)BOSS RC-20 XL that has the capability of Rewinding and Looping at the same time

  • New Tabs by Sergio Altamura (Luna, Dragonfly, Aria Meccanica, Dancing Trees) available on the candyrat website

  • @rpoland Are there music scores too?

  • this is the soundtrack to coming off a speed binge.

  • I'm speechless :D. What kind of music is this?

  • 48 people find creativity offensive.

  • @borrowmeadolla ....prolly just jealous of his awesome talent

  • This is the beautiful side of experimental music!

  • How have I not listened to this song yet?

  • @whouston33wh I know! A customer noticed I was watching YT and suggested I type 'Sergio Dragonfly' into search ~ I just love my customers :)

  • I've been a CandyRat fan for months, however, I only discovered this yesterday. I'm speechless...

  • EBOW KING!

  • So this video officially concludes that chocolate milkshakes are superior to strawberry and vanilla? Finally I understand!

  • @Bashbro2323

  • love

  • breaks me down every time i feel it. Soul! A soul is a curious thing, as life's string pulls on the cords, you touch so many things, so many feeling, life brings. Though at times sorrow may seem a friendly thing. step back...kiss my face...overcome...overcome, this awful place. Kisses for children yet born..I bare your race. A challenge it may be. The brush strokes of heaven, falling in grace. erick

  • I write this in tears. Truly, this man is gifted with soul above all else.

    Sergio, I salute you.

  • Great style, it is very thoughtful. Color!

  • its like his soul is speaking to us through his hands

  • possibly the best guitar player in the world

  • how does he get the music to repeat on a loop??

  • @dereksmallsuk exactly that.... a loop machine..... they make speicific ones for guitar..... although im asuming thats what he's using.... some kind of loop machine..... one that has several tracks on it...... so you can loop multiple sounds, like layers, over eachother.

  • @dereksmallsuk if your question has not been answered its simply a pedal, probably the memory man deluxe.

  • @Nevanator7 Hmmmmmmmmmm might get one of those. Once I've finished flicking bits of fousty gangrene off my dying neighbours left foot.

  • @dereksmallsuk okay, oh man gangrene sucks!

  • this video has inspired me to try even harder as a guitarist, this piece has touched me more than any other i would love to one day have the talent he has. It is songs like these that can truly touch the hearts of many, because it needs not a single word so that when people listen to this it as if its telling a different in each persons heart.

  • how does he do that effect at the beginning ?

  • @MistakesAreMade

-This song uses a loop pedal and one of the settings on many loop pedals is to play the loop backwards. So, instead of each being loudest immediately after being plucked and then fading out, it starts out quiet and rushes in.

  • I bought his CD from candyrat.com after seeing his videos on here. It is good and I recommend it, but oddly the video versions of his songs sound a bit better. Altamura is a great musician.

  • =]... that's all that comes to mind because this man takes my words with his music.. WOW

  • @ipocrita96@ concordo con te!!!!

  • bravissimo sergio!!!!

  • i tuoi brani sono molto belli sergio... sono davvero orgogliosa di essere una tua allieva.

  • Best video on YouTube... or any where else. Well done production and the most haunting music. Listen often.

  • Fantastic...beautiful melody played cleanly and with great imagination!!!

    Bravo...

  • @KMAMP86 Indeed, I've watched his videos and this is exactly what people would want to hear during movies' uprising, depriming, contemplating or meditating moments. And he could make a lot of money too, seriously!

  • I would like to meet you. Where are you from?

  • That's the way to use an e-bow and a looping device

  • Damn, he totally looks like Tchéky Karyo.

  • its nice listen to this when its raining

  • @reymasterfrost and when it is not.

  • Just ordered his CD yesterday. Can't wait to blast it in my car. :D

  • I have listened to this so many times i hear the added parts before he has even added them.

  • That was incredible. He can't be human. I just don't understand the string stretching in the last minute of the song.

  • @CCatramboneMusic it's actually kinda simple.

you might notice the 6th string(bass) is tuned very, very low.

try tuning to drop C on a normal guitar. the strings are EASILY bent this way :)

  • @MartaineJr oh yeah, I get that. hahah, I'm saying like I don't understand why he put it in there. The song was beautiful, and usually every melody he puts in his songs just flows with the next, but it just sounds stupid. :/

  • @CCatramboneMusic He can't be human? This illustrates the kind of beauty only humans are capable of creating. Long Live Man!

  • What a fantastic and inspirational piece of work. Could someone perhaps tell me what this sort of reversed chord effect is?

    Thanks x

  • @JamieMaguireful it's just a reverse delay.

  • @hobomick cheers man, just found out =]

  • @JamieMaguireful It's just a recorded phrase on the boss RC-20XL and then he's pressed the reverse button, so the whole phrase is played backwards.

  • @OceanicOsprey lol i was going to ask how you knew it was the XL, then I saw the time on the video lol good call.

  • @JamieMaguireful It's a reversed chord effect of course. lol

  • @JamieMaguireful

Sounds like he looped the chords and replayed as a reversed loop.

You can do this with most loopers or delays.

  • As soon as the melody came in a shiver ran over my whole body! Amazing song, amazing guitarist!

  • I loved the solo, but hated that stupid synth back track it was just annoying. Sorry if you don't agree, it's just my oppinion

  • @zharepotter we all have our opinions. I respect yours :D

  • @zharepotter

I believe what you're talking about would be his reverse pedal. Rather than simply a synth back track.

He plays the 'back track' right at the beginning and at 0:41 the reverse loop pedal takes it away till the end. :)

  • @zharepotter it's not a synth backtrank you goof, he's using a loop pedal, and that is what he played at the beginning, but in reverse

  • OmG!!!!!

    This is art!!!!

    So beautiful...

  • I'd assasinate all main stream pop artists and go to jail or get exacuted, for music like this to take its place.

  • This man is true genius!!! This makes me feel like I actually can fly high in the sky. Thank you Sergio!!! And all those 43 mother fuckers who didn`t like this song have no any good music taste!

  • this music makes sense, its a way of taking emotion we feel, and personifying it into a song that gives me chills every time i listen to it. i cant find very many songs like that

  • This Guy is an Abstract Artist with a guitar, just like a professional painter with brushes, or a landscaper knows plants design and balance, He knows sound like and artist knows shade shape colour detail and depth, the endmost result, music with majesty and creativity, I never thought anyone could even come close to Andy McKee, fantastic.

  • Simply beautiful.

  • goosebumps

  • this makes me want a loop pedal so much

  • would anyone happen to know the tuning of this song?

  • @mikpwn Tuning??? LMAO! Did you see how he loosens, bends, does all that raping to the guitar? And you ask for tuning. Haha. Just enjoy it bcoz i will bet $1000 you can not recreate it...with "tuning".

  • @velvetdrug yes i did and its not that hard, but its only one string and its not that hard to play but its the feeling, ive managed to do the start of it but nothings else since i dont know the tuning. and also i tune my guitar probably 7 or more times a day so yea.

  • @velvetdrug

do you really believe he can play that regardless of whether or not the guitar is tuned? because that is a very ignorant belief

  • This is true art of motion. This is what you call music!

  • Tears reminds me of emotions which I thought was forgotten for a long, long time...

    ...every tune is right...cosmic.

  • A true original... This song is so deep, taps into emotions I didn't know I had.

  • he shld sing

  • This conjures up the deepest and nostalgic emotions in those who truly appreciate music as an art and not only as an entertainment.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!

  • Uhh, excellent, and sensitive.

  • amazing it makes me reflect on life and how at times its sad and hard amzing artist amizing peice wow breath taking cant get enough of it

  • Incredibly emotive piece, and very imagistic in the mind, subtly different landscapes & meanings for every listener I'll bet.

In a funny way, the fact that this was recorded using a handheld camera instead of one on a tripod actually adds to the whole feeling of this recording being a very specific moment in time, captured and preserved forever (though of course all recordings are exactly that!). Lovely stuff, Serge

  • ke fabulosa cancion

    es de mis favoritas

podria ecuchar por horas y perderme en ella

    eres el mejor

  • @Botis07MuSiC verdad

  • will someone please help me with the tuning of this piece i thought it was AADGBE but i think im wrong ant help?

  • @ualbanychemist would also love to know the tuning!

  • This guy must write for an orchestra.

  • Many of the songs are cool, the majority has a moral, but only a few are really beautiful because they show the artist's soul. This is art!

  • wow, really, thats fuking genius

  • Did he released any albums? This is something Ive never heared before... Thanks for such musicians...

  • @Vaclav5 yes, its called "Aria Meccanica"

  • Did he released any albums? This is something Ive never heared before... Thanks for such musicians...

  • Does anybody know what he is using to get the feedback? 2:45 to 4:50.

  • @echels it's called an E-bow I got one and i love it !

  • @d4j0k3r Thanks, I'll have to look at one!

  • @echels its an ebow it makes synth sounds

  • Quite the opposite.. Well, for me anyways. Only simple/predictable songs depreciate the more you listen to them. Fine pieces such as this are like a good wine. They get better with age.

  • so beautiful...

  • this video was posted on my birthday :D

  • @BoboSab3121 it was actually originally posted on september 11th! but then they took it down and reuploaded it the next day for some reason :D

  • so amazing..i never really liked this guy all that much but this is such a conveyance of emotions its insane

  • vamos

  • Most beautiful thing I have ever heard

  • Was this recorded at Candyrat records or at someones house?

  • Well, Sergio comes from Italy, so he probably recorded the CD there instead of travelling to USA.

Maybe he's never been to USA at all.

But I'm glad that Europe can offer this music to the world.

  • @vojtaslaby

So, one doesn't have to be in America to be affiliated with Candyrat then. I just discovered this guitarist the other day! I've been to Italy once before and wish I could go back to see him play.

  • He is coming to the US in April with Pino Forastiere and Stefano Barone. Midwest tour.

  • C'est malade!me amour!!!!
