@buddycraigg I believe it keeps spinning, I have them disengaged for now. if you help it out it goes up fine and then stops. the other just keeps running. yes it is an 84.
I have the same exact problem with my passenger side motor,do i buy a new motor or is there a cheaper way to fix the stripped gear? I'ev never worked on headlight motors before so im not sure. Kindly do let me know sir.
I have one that does that, but the other one gets stuck about half way when I try to open it. any idea about that one?

@tox1cchicken if you are talking about an 84-86 car, on the one that gets stuck about half way, is the knob still spinning, or does it stop?

@tox1cchicken you still have a stripped gear, the gear rotates about 345 degrees.
A common short term fix is to rotate the linkage arm when the gear is spinning when it bottoms out.

I have a set of videos of me rebuilding a headlight motor. you can buy the gears from Rodney Dickman, or the fiero store.
