  • Yeah you´re really good, a like your look on this video!

  • super tight bro

  • THOSE TOMSSS!! They sound amazing!

  • You gotta stop makin videos...my favorites list is getting too long! jk keep um comin!

  • One of the best no frills drummers I have found on You Tube. Others might disagree but I have seen them all the stick tossers the head bangers and the speed demons. All are great but this guy just stands out among all the rest. Best of luck to you and your Band TRC.

  • That is the most beautiful drum set I've ever seen<3

  • your drums sound killer. good job man.

  • every time i watch this, it keeps on lagging. is this happening to anyone else?

  • YOur band should cover this. btw The Relay Company is like one of my favorite bands everyone should buy the album

  • Awesome lick @ 3:13. Im taking this to the practire room right now..! =)

  • Which snare sample is that??? :)

  • your fill at 3:10 is so dirty. great cover!

  • these drums sound so amazing, are you using triggers??

  • @lilreno78 its definitely triggered. sounds sick though.

  • @forgetthepacific I think he's not using triggers, maybe he got on a beat sequencer and used some samples. Rofl. Those mics do make some pretty good decoration in the video though.

  • So Brad.

  • anyone can tell me what kind of set is that set? look awesome pm please

  • @anpadrespe1 It's an SJC - custom drum makers - awesome stuff.

  • what are you using to mount your kick mic? I've been looking for a mic mount like that for so long!

  • your toms sound perfect... puking rainbows right now...

  • Pedo stash lol

  • I so want to buy that snare !

  • Brutal!

  • Awsome music

  • yo skinny. what do you record thru/onto?

  • wicked video mate, it wasnt over played which made it sound awesome :D good effort SAN!

  • Drums sound awsome

  • who would dislike this. cause of the bass pedal thing?!

  • Loving the sound Quality!.

  • tight pocket, the drums sound AMAZING!

  • It's settled...Im buying some Meinl Byzance hihats.

  • One word. AWESOME!

  • just fantastic..!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh hai it's Forrest from Hello Goodbye...

  • if you think that's all there is, try again... sry, "skinnyjake", you've been caught.. watch AND listen separately 2:08 -2:09, the closed hi hat hits roll into the snare/floor tom flam and over lap... he is using an auto align tool along side of midi substituted drums in which ever recording program is being utilized. nice cover jake, but try a little harder in the editing department...

  • @martinfrankiewicz i see it!

  • @martinfrankiewicz That's the drum track of the original song. Probably didn't edit it out; is that what you're saying he should've done? He didn't play anything over that part so you could hear it clear as day.

  • @martinfrankiewicz good theory and good ear, but just a bit off. I edited this audio and video. the audio is recorded first during the main front angle, then those extra angles are just to change it up a bit and have a different perspective of the kit. he may have missed a hat on the video's 2nd angle (as you mentioned), but that doesn't mean he missed when he recorded the actual audio. we use no midi substituted (triggered) drums or 'auto' align tool. (the kit's authentic samples are blended*)

  • @martinfrankiewicz lol you're the biggest tool ever. who takes THAT much time to look into a video that hard? any REAL drummer can see that 99% of the video/audio syncs up to his drumming perfectly. Just another poor jealous soul. Stfu and enjoy the video, something i WISH i could do except your idiotic statement was just too distracting.

  • @thanksmisfortune

been playing for 18 years. dont need to tell you im some awesome machine but i have a good background. sure.. 99% is great.. but when a decent eye can see just that 1%... i find it amusing... sorry to upset you! i just thought it was funny and interesting. take a look at ficarelli's videos... youll find about 99% of his garbage out real quick LAWL.

  • Well done, Solid as fuck.

  • He probably recorded the video when he was recording the audio, then synced up the recorded track to the video. I do the same thing when i do drum covers.

  • jackie cassell snare?

  • @MrFlydrummerboy no? her's is wood and not a signature series..

  • @CANdavidFLY oh........ LOL. they look pretty similar. dont ya think?

  • There is ALOT of production in this video..

Every snare hit sounds the same! It's almost like it's sampled or something.

  • @MeOnGretsch I think he records the drums before, he is just playing the same stuff, because there are almost no mics

  • @oscarmvl It's a shame.. it takes away al the charm.

  • @MeOnGretsch Well, this is for just a few of his videos, most of them are with live audio

  • that snare is so beautiful, its so crunchy, perfect audio engineering here.

  • What do you use for recording?

  • you are a beast

  • replay button is almost broken.

  • can someone tell me why this doesnt have 10000x as many views

  • Just about everytime I get on youtube I watch this video :D

C'mon Jake, we need more videos!!!

  • I think it needs more cowbell

  • omfg! its very good sound on the drums and the recording :D

  • if i had a dollar for every time i watched this...i'd have 8,104 dollars.

  • i wanna download this as an mp3.

  • I hope @wireless000gi tells us to burn our pants. Man, these things are chaffing.

  • you've got the touch (but..man..burn your glasses)

  • beautiful drums man. hate the song, but still great cover!

  • This is pretty irrelevant, but where did you get your shoes? D: I want a pair.

  • love the way you play mate

  • Did anyone else witness how he managed to keep the hi-hats closed while using the double bass pedal @ 2:03?! Now thats beast!

  • @MrKevin226j just noticed it mate.... not pleased!..

  • @mtaylor7297 it's possible, man, jojo mayer does it all the time. although i'm pretty sure he just over dubbed in this video.

  • @MrKevin226j i dont know if he is using it here but tama has a hardware that you can put in your hihat to keep it closed when you activate it with your foot

  • @asdfgerardo yeah, there are high hate clutches, but you can see he doesn't have one. Unless there are new ones that aren't used on top.

  • @rjstowers gavin harrison has one, he activated it with his foot :P

  • @asdfgerardo what is this sorcery?! lol, im still a bit new to drumming. mind sending me a link to this magical device :p

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKevin226j yeah, that is freakin' tough!

  • @MrKevin226j Overdub.

  • @MrKevin226j its a throw switch of somesort. i have one on my hat pedal. i kick it to close the hats when i double pedal. then i stomp on the hat pedal to bring thw switch back so the hats open.

  • he filmed it separately =/ i can tell. i edit. and it was slightly awkward.

  • @MrKevin226j yeah I think he used a drop clutch, its pretty awesome.

  • @MrKevin226j Two takes, nothing awesome :/

  • @MrKevin226j different takes ! still heaps beast!!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKevin226j - i don't know how he did it but I've kept mine closed before, using my toes, then used my slave pedal with my heel. advantage to having a size 13 foot lol.

  • @MrKevin226j He probably has a drop clutch.

  • @MrKevin226j that is called recording more than 1 time and editing

  • @basje224 Not at all, good try though.

  • @MrKevin226j he filmed it twice or more times. everyone does that. most people film about 12 times, for 12 different angles.

  • @MrKevin226j Because he record the video separate from the audio...

  • @MrKevin226j haha yea i dont see how that's possible... his foot wasn't even touching the hihat pedal! lol

  • wat editing software?

  • Thumbs up for the TRX cymbals!! Great choice of cymbals man!

  • @enruoblimeimaj TOTALLY!!!!!

  • Such an inspiration! Love watching these covers

  • Jake ur awesome at frumming :D i have to see u guys in concert agaon last i saw u guys was in SF opening for Good Charlotte :D

  • I swear to god, your the next travis barker!! don't ever stop drumming!!

  • also watch the kick drum petal beats from 00:30 onwards. its just fake as shit man.

  • guys , the snare drum doesn't even have a mic hooked up to it. It's the same story with the floor tom.

So how did they record this? Truth is, its a cover and it is not being played by this guy. He is just hitting the drums are the correct time.

    peace xx

  • @niiickniiickniiick no offense, but are you stupid? theres definitely a floor tom mic, and at 1:12 you can plainly see the snare mic, its just being miced from the side. Also his kick drum is right on with what's coming out of my speakers, so i don't see an issue there... and even if it wasn't a live performance, the fact that it all looks EXACTLY RIGHT would prove that he can play the part. All i see is a solid drum cover that is produced very well, and you hating on it for no apparent reason

  • @niiickniiickniiick He is defintley playing! Look at 1:11

You can see the floor tom mic, and the snare mic!

  • @niiickniiickniiick

    lol... fail,

if you actually watched instead of trying to find reasons to pick the video apart.. you would see the floor tom and snare mic's

  • Btw that snare sounds amazing.

  • Freakin sick dude. There's some tricky parts in there.

  • marry me

  • what product do you use in your hair?

  • I love you<33

  • @SkinnyJake12

What high hat stand do you use?

  • i think he has had most of his views from me, cause its my daily habit to watch all these AND listen to em while im workin at school lol.

  • How do you EQ the original song track to get the drums to mix in so well? Any tips would be great!

  • Does SJC stand for Skinny Jake Custom?

    /troll

  • i love your style dude. i take inspiration from you! so sick!

  • Love the way you feel the music!

  • you all know it's not the actual sound of the kit right? it's been professionally mixed and sound samples have been added. yeah, the kit does sound GREAT, but this is a tweaked, enhanced version of how it sounds.

  • @blabslippy exactly. the snare hit at :42 has some reverse verb on it. but it does sound oh so pretty!!!

  • no mic on the snare........... do i hear a sample??? :D

great playing regardless!! been thinking about ordering another SJC kit. debating to go with a 24 or 26 bass drum, but i think this sold me. :3

  • Comment removed

  • @jmotter92 1:09 - 1:12 see the mic? just looked and thought the same lol untill that

  • @crazykinoflongboards ahhh. good call. i was blind, but now i see. :D

  • @jmotter92 hahaha thank you my friend ^_^

  • SJC DRUMS???? SOUND LIKE DW DRUMS FOR A SECOND LOL HAHA

  • Nice double bass with closed hats at 2:02.

  • @jpw1293 does it really matter? If it's more than one take, your going to have room for errors :(

Please don't let it bother you and watch the talent instead!

  • Comment removed

  • better than the original!

  • always solid, amazing style! love it dude!

  • So, you got a new kit.

Can I have your old one ? (:

  • Dude. Sick show today at Bellarmine. I'm that one short asian guy with the white long sleeve. But, I never realized until now, but when I cover a song, I use your videos to jam along. Sick stuff man.

  • about time you made another cover!

  • Could you upload a video of only the drums?

So without the song. I want to hear that kit how it sounds without music.

  • Wanna be hipster, looser

  • what size of stick is being using?

  • @drummerjake777 it looks like promark 2B

  • This is officially one of my favorite drum cover videos.... great sound!!!!

  • in this video he looks like Kevin Baird from Two Door Cinema Club! hg

  • A bit too much reverb on the snare

  • teach us how to sound like this jake!!!!!!

  • Damn.

  • is like your snare is bigger than your drum bass :p

  • Your snareee !!!!!!!

  • Best sounding drums on youtube right here

  • perfect mix!

  • I clicked on a random video and went straight to a different tab and I thought these were the actual drums for the song thats how amzing this was!
