I use to have a dog that knew she was in trouble, my dog use to lay down and cover her head when we told her she was being bad. Her name was, Saddie, she was a Labrador Pinscher, she was born without a tail. But she past away in a few months ago, she had a stroke. :(

If they're left in a situation where they are hungry or exposed to something like an infant that acts like prey, they will do what dogs do. Not their fault.
